Thank you so much for sharing this podcast. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Liu many years ago in Boston as a triage nurse for a short while. Now working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner I see so many cases of severe eczema in children and especially babies. I will definitely be utilizing the national eczema website as well as the Chicago eczema website. Thank you!

Thanks for this Podcast with a Board member of NEA.org. There needs to be a combined effort between NEA and ITSAN. All sufferers and Doctors need to be patient to see real progress or results AND ask what's the underlying cause and effect of eczema/Atopic Dermatitis. What's the real reason behind why we see such a horrific skin issue in as fast as a few days or weeks after non-use of steroid ointment? The real source of the problem is no one can deny nor know the root cause of the problem when all parties disagree or argue or reject the question, why do some out-grow eczema symptoms and what % of children vaccinated and/or not, become chronic sufferers. How can diet or environmental factors destroy the body's ability to moisturize naturally as designed? If it's genetic, why do both parents do not even show signs of these immune deficiencies?

Diet plan plays a crucial part of clearing eczema. Choosing the right foods could help you to fight against the future outbreak and keep you protected from annoying itchy feeling.

@@glammedbynatalia my baby was steroid-induced eczema and they just try to blame the diet. But she is on formula and there's no problem at all. This is she after 90 days without steroids.

my daughter has had severe eczema since she was 4weeks old and is now 16months. shes been on steroids since without any break. i hate the idea that she has to use steroid. ive tried all natural oils, changed her diet as she has severe allergy to certain things like eggs milk nuts and has been tested several times for this. she wears special eczeme baby grows prescribed by hospital doctors. she has a cabinet filled with different types of medicines and creams and ointments that keep getting changed. its hard. the weathers been hot here in uk which has worsened her eczema. it flares up and cracks and so gets infected. i loose control of it most times. i feel like nothing is working and i dont agree with the doctors constantly telling me she will grow out of it when clearly i am doing everything they are saying yet theres been no difference or improvement.. this video has cleared up a few things for me. thank you.

Sorry to read about this a year later. How many vaccinations did your daughter get prior to showing signs of this auto-immune deficiency? Just wondering you should ask your girl's doctors,"how allergies are developed and how long it takes to improve when she avoids those foods?"

My son is suffering ! His flare-ups are intense with itching. He was on medication but as soon as his medication is complete he flares up again. Its making him terribly conscious of his skin especially because his face is affected. He is also on probiotics! Its making him tired. He has big dreams but the disease is totally taking over his life. I want to know how long can one stay on steroids or what can he do to manage himself without Prednisone.

I am just wondering.... I have been diagnosed with ear eczema because of my dry ear wax and was told to use elocon lotion for no longer than 5 days. I told the ENT that the more I used elocon lotion, I felt that it was getting better but he told me to stop using elocon lotion for a week or so and to reapply them again later. I guess that it is a steroid and he does not want me to use it for long term. Also, can a MRI detect eczema?
