  • I was able to have a little more control over the drums with this one. I mic'd them a bit different. Let's see if you can tell the difference. Love me some Beach Fossils. This one was fun to make. Hope ya can dig it. Drop a comment. Let me know what you think. Thanksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

    It'd be awesome if you gave some more background about the music theory aspect of your songs - i.e. chord progressions, time signature, etc. For bonus point, guitar processing/effects.

      Great suggestion! However, I don’t know too much music terminology. I mean, I know basic chords (3/4 and 4/4) time signatures but I learned by ear to play/write music on my own so I’ll do my best explaining in the coming videos I shoot. Thanks again!

    Hello brother, I loved your video, I wanted to ask, what harmony did you make in the vocals? According to me, for the verses you doubled the voices with the same harmony but in the chorus you did something different, did you use thirds or something like that? And thanks for reading I'm already watching all your videos and they have helped me a lot thanks new sub

    This is so great! I hope you can show us how you processed the guitar part (eg. guitar effects). I'm starting to make my music but I don't get the right tone for my guitar part.

    Love the song!! However, I feel cheated that you didn't show us what that iPhone track sounded like solo and the snare track solo. Not complaining but... ok, yeah, I'm kinda complaining. Was it useable as is, or did you have to do heavy processing?

    • @bananalabs
      @bananalabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha thanks! You have every right to feel cheated. I will reveal the raw drum tracks in the next video with some B Roll! And I used the usual drum processing method in the mix down. Nothing more or less.

    would you do a remake of one of the new beach house songs? this latest collection sounds like a very interesting evolution in their sound, more shoegazey like.

      Thank you! Absolutely. I use a chain of compression, Eq, saturation and reverb for my vocals- Which are included in Ableton standard.

      Second on the overhead! To clarify, was that just the internal mic/voice memo app? I’m thinking of trying this out myself. Any tips on positioning? And have you done this on any other tracks before or since?

    • @bananalabs
      @bananalabs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joelmasters1004 Yes! Just the mic from my iPhone no social app or anything. I just had it clipped over in the middle of the drums. Yeah I’ve done it on several videos before and after this particular one. At the time I only had a 2 channel interface.
