Fun to see Barry play. Back in the early 2000's Barry (falsely) accused me of stealing one of his guitars. Turns out it was another guy with my same name a few hundred miles from me. Police involved and everything. Hope they busted my doppelganger who had sold Barry's guitar on Ebay. Barry got my number from the cops and left me a phone message one day still suspicious. When I called him back a girl child answered the phone and said Barry was changing the oil in his car. So the man changed his own oil, gotta hand it to him. I tried to book my band as an opener for him sometime. I was sorry to lose touch and hear of his passing a few years later. Turns out I really like his music and this video brings back a friend I might have made.
Love you Barry Cowsill RIP. I miss you as you were my big crush back in 60s. I wish you were still with us. I see both of Susan Cowsill husbands her ex husband Peter and now she’s married Russ.
What an incredible talent he was! But then look at the family he comes from. It's easy to see!! Interestingly, Barry's back-up then was Susan's ex, Peter Holsapple and her current hubby, Russ Broussard!!!
the combination of musician AND poet, the troubadour~minstrel is most evident in "My car don't lock." ~quite a walk down the road from 'Love American Style'.
Pretty solid tune .......if i didn't know it was a guy from the cowsills i would've just thought i was one of a million other college rock groups from the 90s on cable access television
Barry Cowsill was so talented. And Peter Holsapple is great. I still don’t understand why Barry didn’t get out of New Orleans after Katrina. That’s sad.
He was killed 6-years and 3-weeks after this performance in Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Let this be a lesson. When you are warned to evacuate in the event of a Hurricane, you go and go fast. Barry Cosill did not leave and he died. R.I.P.
As I recall , Barry left a voice message, saying he had missed the last bus out of NOLA. Rest well Barry, in the beautiful dimension you deserve~~~~~~~
There is extensive evidence.. and Susan Cowsill believes and has stated that Barry committed suicide. Very sad ending for a talented musician who survived a lot.
Killer stuff. I hope he tapped that fine af hostess. She was eatin' him up and soppin' the rest up wit a biscuit. Dang... The Cowsills are some talented muthas.
1999 is the year of the video. I am calculating this from a post “moviemagg” added here. The contributor says the video dates from six years three weeks before Katrina. Does anyone know where this was video-recorded? At a TV station in New Orleans, maybe?
Ask any Cowsill "what instrument do you play" and they'll answer "Yes". Talented bunch and Barry is missed.
Wonderful groove, Barry! Heaven only gets the best, and we know you are jamming' with Bill and Dickie! Love and miss you!
Barry Cowsill ♥️
This is awesome..Barry really should have had a huge solo career, the man was fantastic...and what a personality! Just wish there was more. RIP Barry.
@@gregjeffcoat4258 ~They had a terrifying childhood. He never recovered, poor Barry.

He could'nt get out after katrina; he was already dead. He thought he could ride out katrina in his van!
@@timo1947 that was so sad. We lost a great musician that day.
Did the Cowsills ever do a bad song? Barry you are missed
