Hi Ruchi, I tried this recipe for upma and it turned out wonderful! My whole family loved it and the best part is I made this for the first time and it turned out just fantastic. I just added a little urad dal before frying the onions to get the "crunch"'. I have tried out some of your recipes like paneer matar, veg kebabs, and soon will be trying your kadai paneer. Must say, your whole set up, utensils used, cleanliness is just perfect! Very professional indeed. Thanks for all the recipes!!
That was a good tip to fry the Semolina initially, usually I add the semolina at the end when water is boiling with other ingredients. Sometimes that creates lumps while adding and stirring it in the end. Ill try this out in the same way!!!
One Question here - People suggests to put chana daal also in it, but I don't understand how chana daal will be eatable without cooker? do we need to cook that seperately and then add in upma?
Dude when oil is heat, add mustard seeds n raw chana dal together n let it cook on med flame until chana dal turns brown. Then add remaining things (curry leaves n onion etc) . It gives some crisp to the recipe!
I love your fuss free style of presenting traditional Indian recipes without skipping on steps or taste, thanks for this recipe
Addition of yogurt was interesting and new, will try ;) thanks
