23% of all UK household waste is sent to one of more than 500 landfill sites scattered up and down the country. The waste is then compacted and buried. But these filthy mega mounds of trash aren’t as depressing as they first appear…
Taking a close look at the mega machinery required to handle this much rubbish this video also explores the green recycling efforts used to convert organic food and plant waste into compost which is then sold back to farmers.

We all should give thanks to them for being brave to take all of our trash we thrown
@chris falkenberg aye captain
Why brave about emptying a bin? noddy!
i disagree
Incineration is still better. No leachate and you get more energy. No methane production involved.
Just remember to filter out flue gas.
@Amelia Fisher guess what, landfills produce methane which is way more potent and destroys much more ozone than the co2 coming from incinerators.
@@Trizo you still need a landfill for the ash. No matter what we do , there will be a problem
@@bharris7610 where I am from, the ashes are used as an 'ingredient' for tarmac
@@Trizo ash is used as filler for many things but the majority still goes to a landfill facility so my point stands
The wildlife like it too... shows footage of a fox that doesn't look impressed

Wow, this video is an eye-opener!
Was that the rainham veolia landfill site
I believe this is the Ockendon Veolia site.
Where Does The Rubbish Go? Most of it is on our streets. There is no such thing as a road sweeper anymore.
Is there any way to reverse this?
Bowels are regulated not rubbish in Britain
Turn the rubbish to energy
Can you explain why Walleys in Newcastle Under Lyme has gone out of control, we now know the base has large amounts of gypsum, did they make a mistake with its change of use, hydrogen sulphide above WHO guidelines is truly off the scale affecting hundreds of square miles.
can you at least put a question on the actual question so we know wt your asking?
Wildlife like it too ? Wuuuut

"It's all so environmentally friendly". The tone and script of this narration was wrong from the beginning.

I'm sure God never envisioned this....his beautiful Earth being used as a dumping ground for human garbage. The flood never lasted as long as it should have.
Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for its appointed time,And it is rushing toward its end, and it will not lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it!For it will without fail come true.It will not be late
No god, no flood bro
@@Torchwoodandwesterns I'm not your Bro.
Torchwoodandwesterns The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
GrantOriginal and what about science and the laws of nature? If we destroyed all of our bibles, scripture and written down information we have on religion, in 1000 years time Christianity would disappear & would be forgotten, no sign of it would exist , where as if we destroyed all our science books and facts we have on the laws of nature , in 1000 years time you could do the same scientific tests we have done today and all the same results would come back (i.e stuff like the earth being 14 billion years old not 6000 , the theory of evolution etc.)
Please please don’t spend the rest of your life being scared of the invisible man in the sky that was made up 2000 years ago to keep control over the masses, it’s very primitive🤦🏻♂️
