    The extraction tool, using only hand pressure, blew through the maple cap in my guitar. There must be a chamber underneath. I got it out using a big round nut that went outside of the insert that the wing nut pressed against. When I installed the kit, I had a lot of weird buzzing. Not sure if the pressure of extracting the insert caused some components to shift slightly.

      That’s a concern I have. Mine is chambered and is exquisite. It’s got a Nashville bridge and I want a abr-1 style bridge. The one that’s on it now is tone pros regular chrome, it doesn’t have the brilliance of the ABR1 on my other Les Paul. I have to ask the guy I bought it from which one he put on there because it is noticeably brighter and more pronounced and very airy and balanced. Professional Vs. heavily muted. What’s the best? I’ve heard and seen disasters from yanking posts out and hammering new ones in, not knowing if the holes drilled are the same depth or not. Hammer one in and if it doesn’t reach the bottom, then what the F would one dooo? 😊

    Hey Larry what is the name of the adaptor you used on the drill press while tapping the post holes? Thanks.

      It's the BSWKIT.

      @ Okay, that’s the kit I bought. I’m asking about your drill press setup to thread the insert hole. It looks like you have the tap in the chuck but it also looks like you have an adaptor around chuck which allows you to turn while you press and drive the tap. Is there a name for the drill press adapter/tool?

      @@StephenBe Sorry, I don't remember the name of the adapter. It's been so long ago that I bought it.

    The video was good. I would however liked to have seen how to raise the bridge for string height!
    Thanks for sharing.

      The bridge posts themselves, even though threaded, are fixed and shouldn't turn after installation. The separate thumb wheels are used to raise or lower the bridge.

    Do these come in brass instead of steel?

      In the web page indicates that just the thumbwheels are made of brass. The stud is steel. I suppose you looking for the vintage correct specs?

      This guy of SD pickups says the more closer to vintage correct hardware are the followings: Kluson aluminum tailpiece, Faber ABR bridge and I'm still looking for the BRASS bridge posts. I think the tailpiece studs and bushings are steel stock on my 2007 Studio LP. I emailed Gibson to verfy

    Why replace my les paul bridge with faber?

    • @TheBoomtown4
      @TheBoomtown4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the custom shop and vintage les Paul’s use/used abr 1 bridges that transfer more string vibrations to the body, through the pickups. All the Gibson USA stuff is Nashville style bridges that are loosey goosey and don’t transfer as much string energy. If you want a custom shop comparable guitar, then you buy an abr-1 style bridge such as the ones they offer.

      Hi, Daniel. Faber has not yet made the "BSWKIT" with 6-32 upper posts. If you wanted to use them on a '19-'20 standard that came with ABR-1, you could, but you'd need to use a FaberABRM model bridge instead of the ABRH. The bridges are identical, except for the size of the posts holes. Spacing on ABRH and ABRM are the same, at 73.6mm. The other thing is, with the BSWKIT installed, you would not be able to use the original ABR-1 bridge unless you enlarged the post holes to something over 4mm.
