    Killer fly pattern that I have caught many large trout on. Didn’t realize it was such a simple tie!

    An old vid., but a good one. Flashabou strands make a very good alternative to the film material you've used. It's a shame there are no answers to the questions posed.

    Is that medallion sheet the same as raffia or is it the "brittle-film" looking ( kind of looks like an öll slick) sheet??

    Hi, Nice simple, clean fly. I like it!
    I could never see 8t on the water though. I’ll try some with white or pink foam I think.

      Just put a New Zealand style wool indicator 3ft above it and if you lose sight of the fly the indicator will let you know when a fish strikes. I do that with all my tiny, hard to see flies.

    Awesome! Nice buggy bug. Where do you most often have good luck with these? And what times of year? And what sizes do you tie them in?
