@@picawood I just love how they have their own style and their own philosophy toward animation and everything they do you can tell there was love behind it. They just love animation and the whole medium behind it. Love Trigger to death.
Trigger avoids the pitfalls I see in most anime studios (A1, cough cough) where they exclusively focus on other anime for inspiration. It becomes an ouroburos that spirals until it's dead. Taking inspiration from western media is paramount for finding new ideas for anime, and not just the classics.
@ Depends on who’s working on the anime because A1 Pictures worked on Kaguya-Sama Love is War and that adaptation came out wonderfully and they’re doing great work on Solo Leveling as well. But I do agree on taking inspiration from other places to keep things fresh. Back in the 60s and 70s a good portion of anime were adapted from western works or European works. Just shows how different the times were in making anime. What also works with Trigger is that they do what they want to do which is a luxury in the entertainment field. They just do anything without fear of being the most popular thing made. Because Panty&Stocking wasn’t well liked in Japan at all, this is really for the western audience that this continuation is happening

Very glade Trigger secured the rights to Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt after Gainax had been just sitting on it for years doing nothing with the IP.
@@foxdavion6865 I’m happy as well because it’s with people that genuinely want to do more with the IP. I can imagine he frustrating it was to see potential in something to grow but others don’t so they just keep it down, but Gainax had no choice when it came down to the end of their company.

From what the newest trailer shows it's probably a reboot since if you know how the anime originally ended most of the trailer makes little to no sense for a season 2 so it's probably named New as is REBOOT

I’d be insane if we got a Gurren Lagann Remake soon, episode 4 will finally reach its full potential!! Plus a mainstream adaptation of such a great story would skyrocket the community’s numbers
This is the first I heard of someone wanting a remake of the entire show. Usually people so for a continuation of it. But I see why you’d ask for one, it popping off now would get a lot of newer eyes to the IP
@ I don’t see how a continuation starring say, Gimmy and Darry, would work personally, because it would HAVE to address the Spiral Nemesis, and in a way overcome it which in my eyes would ruin the ending of the original Gurren Lagann, I’d much rather a remake of what I feel is already a complete story

That can be really good for Gurren Lagann if they ever choose to do so. I always ask what people exactly want out of Remakes because it gets misconstrued as it having it be exactly like how it used to be. But it’s interesting to see you down for possibly a different route if they were to do it

3:37 Iirc Yoshinari barely worked on Dunmeshi, he just did this cut with the green dragons flying at the beginning of OP2 and that's it. I really hope he shows up for real in the 2nd season, along with Imaishi

@@Donnyan_shiro It’s funny when you find out that Trigger was comprised of mainly former Gainax staff. They left and wanted to make their own original content and it’s paid off beautifully. It’s like “Where have I seen this animation style before” then it clicks that it was Gainax lol
I think Trigger would struggle to produce a sequel for Guren Lagann, but I’d love to see a Parallel Works 3 if they were up for it. Maybe they could compile 1 & 2 for a digital release as well. It’d be a nice opportunity to experiment with that IP.
@what.the..6990 I don’t know if they’ll rerun to it. They seem very content with how it was but seeing as they own the IP anything is possible. Most we got was the movies getting a theatrical release last year
