Actually in Japan the trend goes to: Buy the game digitally and get a empty case with the cover via post services. Even Nintendo offers this service in JP
I can see this being the case for Sony (& Microsoft apparently is already out of the complete physical game for the most part), but I have high hopes that Nintendo's next console will continue keeping physical games alive for a little bit longer.
From what I have seen a lot of people will buy physical because they will be eventually flip for profit which I don’t really see a majority of modern physical games having value in the future if say game servers are shut down.
Prior to delving into this myself about a year ago and subsequently becoming a lot more vigilant, a large portion of my collection went unchecked sadly. I’ll have to be content with the many games I own that don’t have the most recent patch (though I did at least try my best to pick up physicals that can be played offline since I began collecting). The big issue is monetary: trying to resell my incomplete versions/find a reasonably-priced upgrade for limited print games can be very difficult and expensive. It’s worth at least trying though! C’est la vie Super hot take - I wish companies would just hold physical releases until a complete version can be produced on cart/disc, since the digital vs. physical split across the industry is pretty much 80/20. It may take 6+ months after release depending on how quickly the devs find issues, but it’s pure logic for physical collectors and preservation. I believe many would be okay with the wait for the trade-off. Hopefully the collectors that want to play Day 1 will understand and be willing to compromise. The nature of game development today makes it especially hard to guarantee a complete game on release day, so a wait period is essentially baked-in across the industry. Thanks for this stellar info Emily!
This would be ideal but reality would say that it is near impossible to test for every possibility in a reasonable time frame. I suspect there is a list of common game issues which companies check for but there are probably scenarios where it takes five or six things to line up just right to trigger.
Yeah there are a few games I'm not entirely certain I'll 'trade-up', like you said it can be a bit of extra leg work that may or may not be worth it lol. And yeah given how most physical games are not arriving in store/via the mail on day 1 anymore, I wouldn't mind waiting a little bit longer for a more complete package. Though I'm sure this may delay sale numbers which publishers wouldn't want, especially for the AAA titles. I'm glad at least a few of those indie print publishers have been trying to achieve this, even though a few releases have had their issues.
@@jasonsumma1530 True, there’s so much that goes into great code! And what orbalology said regarding publishers wanting as much money up front as possible is also a big factor. I wish there was a clear path for content-complete physicals, but I’m happy with whatever companies can accomplish in a reasonable time-frame…as long as they put in an effort and don’t crunch the devs.
Another great and informative video Emily. Honestly you can't even trust a "Definitive Edition" game to be complete anymore, even if they have all the DLC on the disc I feel a lot of them still have a patch download at some point. I've gotten so used to downloads just kicking off when I go to install a game. I was shocked to find out the PS4 Ratchet & Clank was all on the disc. I generally assumed that my internet or PSN was down 😅lol
I'm a physical game to let they're myself. And I love looking at my collection. I mostly have physical but I do have digital. When there's no other choice or when I don't think the physical version is that great😂 Like you said, you never know what will happen to digital versions in the future. With physical you can have different types of packaging like steel books or boxsets which add to the fun. There are many places around the world that don't have internet. So I hope they never get rid of physical entirely.
This is one of the few collection channels I actually like. You talk about a lot of issues as well as have a cool collecting philosophy (at least from what I see on video). Keep up the great work!
Heh. This makes for a nice companion video to Good Vibes Gaming's video from last week where they went through 70 Switch games to see how many were still version 1.0, or if they did get update patches to fix bugs were they Day 1 or later in the game's life.
Thank you laying out this topic so clearly, Emily! There are a lot of helpful resources in here. I was actually debating whether I would get a PS4 or a PS5 when the PS5 came out. The CSII bug (which was still new with little information about it back then) actually tipped my choice toward a PS4 for that reason. It is unfortunate it was never patched.
A shame. Since it is a PS4 game, they did not bother since it works fine on PS4. And Xseed kinda does not care hehe. I remember the game feezing on me after beating Altina in the villa and I lost all that progress and that was on PS4 Pro, so not sure if that is the same or not but it did fail on PS4 too.
So glad I stumbled upon this video! I absolutely didn't know about any of these resources... That's interesting and good to know. I kind of see it as that's how it is in modern gaming any game you get your going to have an update pretty much the day you start playing it. Makes you miss the old days when all games were released complete
I was just thinking about grabbing crash bandicoot for the switch but was hesitating because its so difficult finding information on incomplete game carts with extra download codes and such. Thank you so much!
Yee information!! I haven't been particularly into finding revised carts, but will be nice to see which of my games aren't future proof using these resources! For me it isn't a dealbreaker, like the Life is Strange switch remakes I picked up knowing the cart is basically just for show :P I love those games and don't really collect playstation so I'm willing to overlook it lol
Great video explaining all of this! Thank you for getting the word out especially for Does it Play they do great work over there. I wish I never found out about the concept of cartridge revisions and reprinted discs not too long ago as it is now something I consider now before buying physical lol
You know, as a game collector myself, I didn't even know later game releases sometimes have patches, bug fixes, newer versions etc. installed. A few days ago, when downloading a software update, I was pondering the exact same thing: how will I play the game in its most recent and up-to-date version when Switch Online eventually shuts down? We'll be left with an unfinished base game. Very informative video cheers!
Really enjoy your videos every week. Its becoming difficult as a collector to know what comes on disk vs needing download. I use several ressources, also one youtuber that has some reviews of games that work offline and with no bugs, Its N-Game Arts. Your resources are excellent, thanks for all your help to the fellow collector community!
@@orbalology i wish more people would talk about whats available on physical carts/discs and whether there are game breaking bugs! Apparently SNK 40th Anniversary on switch is missing some of the games and they are downloadable and its not even indicated on the box! Drives me nuts when companies do that
Having games on the physical media is why I've been enjoying my switch a lot because it brought back the plug and play that I was used to growing up, going to a newer xbox (the one X) was wildly different in the wrong ways, pretty disheartening so I returned it and got a switch on sale. Its great to see sites that also tackle problems with games that even include full games on the disc/cartridge. I really hope nintendo keeps that trend in the next system and I really hope that maybe xbox or ps moves to cartridges as prices for storage gets cheaper and cheaper.
I’m part of the switch group and submit updated cart revisions quite often. It’s a great source for you to kee udated on what games are getting revisions. I find usually any cart 001 or above is in a fully playable state and anything beyond that tends to be the vermillion but if you can an 002+ etc then why not.
I think this sort of thing is a lot better than it used to be. I remember when PC games could be a nightmare because not only did you need to find patches but they were very specific to the build of PC you had. I had lots of problems with the older Tomb Raider games on PC to get them to run (this is quite some years ago). Especially Angel of Darkness I had to borrow a PC to play it as my much more modern PC wouldn't play it. This of course a thing of the past now. Regarding Xbox you really have to have a constant internet connection to play games on them since the Xbox One (and now the series x). You can play some games offline but there are many drawbacks to doing that. Also for older Xbox games (ie 360 or earlier) there are many games that will only run on the original hardware they were made for. If you are lucky you can purchase a digital only emulated version (ie backwards compatible) but this is only the more popular ones. Whether you can still get the patches need for the more rarified physical versions though is rather hit and miss.
This is something I’ve never thought about before. I’m sure many others haven’t either so thank you for opening our eyes to this important topic. 👍👍 Also, gaming shelf is looking great 😊
Great video Emily , this has been my pet hate as a physical game collection. I remember when games were on the disc that you could play with no downloads. The biggest one i found was Modern Warfare 2 which you cant even play the campaign without downloading the game from the internet to actually play.
These spreadsheets and websites are just the thing I was looking for thank you! Very informative video as always about physical games. Always appreciate these Also if you ever pursue collecting for Xbox I recommend Blue Dragon. Best RPG on any xbox system imo
beauty, brains, and loves gaming = Emily 🙂 I really like these informational videos you make. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us physical collectors. You are doing a great job!
Thanks for all the resources! I can’t imagine someone picking up a used copy of No Man’s Sky or Cyberpunk years from now and not even being able to play anything close to what those games are right now. I completely understand the mindset of buying the PS5 edition as opposed to just upgrading the PS4 version, as that’s also what I’m planning to do for FF7R and Witcher 3. This online era is somewhat mixed for me as it’s great that they can fix game breaking bugs, but at the same time it feels like a lot more games are being pushed out with them, making them unplayable without the patches, and then also what am I supposed to do with a physical copy of Overwatch now?
Oh yeah Witcher 3 is another PS5 upgrade I definitely want to snag as well. And agreed, there are a lot of online features for many console games nowadays it'll be sad when those no longer work too.
Picking up and playing a game without any downloads makes it great for me especially if I get impatient. Playing a game without having to wait for a long download is so convenient. Thank you for the information I now there is a guide for everyone to use! 😁👍
As someone who pretty much Never preorders games(mostly because my backlog is already pretty much neverending), this is yet another incentive of waiting along with the appeal of saving a couple of bucks by getting them at discount from retailers.
Wow Emily this is really helpful. I didnt even think of this. Thanks for making this video. I need to look into this more. I hope you have a lovely week!
Emily you have such a big library . I know you must be torn what you want to play sometimes. I don't really collect physical games but I do collect physical movies. A lot of times it takes me a minute to choose a movie or series to watch lol.
Does it play looks very informative indeed! Very ambitious but much appreciated. I noticed a very seductive Tharja pop up on the shelf, top top purchase ^^ . Very eye opening video and well explained!
Hi Emily, stellar content as always. In my experience the only company that try to release the most complete games inside the cartrige is Nintendo itself. There's are a very few third parties companies that release their game without the requirement of download any critical content so the game can work decently. Sadly this is the reality nowadays. Also something I don't like about companies with their Switch version of their games is that they rather to go for the cheapest cartrige, the ones with small storage, because the big ones are very expensive to produce, so the rest of the content must be downloadable. A clear example is to compare different versions of a game. For instance. Spyro Trilogy, or Bioshock Collection, The Resident Evil Collections or the future release of NMetal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1. Is ridicously the poor content that we get inside the cartrige. Ther'e no logical reason why buying a Switch version of a game is more expensive than a PS4 or PS5 version. This is a couple of reasons why I stopped collect a lot of multiplatform games on the Switch.
The thing with a few of those download required cartridge games is that they eventually moved to a code-in-a-box, like the bioshock collection. Really such a waste of plastic 😅
Just to clarify. When you put FF7R PS4 version in your ps5 you DO NOT need to play the ps4 version. You get an option to only download the ps5 version. At that point, you just have the ps5 version on your console that you can access ONLY when you have the ps4 disc in like a key. I've played both the ps4 and ps5 version on my ps5 with no issue, so I have a feeling that issue is few and far between.
Hi Emily, thanks for the recommendation of Does it Play, but I wouldn't put too much stock into anything that says no updates required, because I decided to just do a search of some games on there and what I've realized it that it doesn't consider the performance, just if it works. What I did specifically was due a search on some pretty egregious releases on the PS4 that needed patches are otherwise the performance imo are just unplayable. I started with the Pathfinder games which they didn't test, so I then searched for Little Big Planet 3 which is listed. Whilte LBP3 states that no update is required, without patches the game will crash repeatedly by the time you even complete the first world. However, I searched for another game, Alan Wake on the PS5. This is another game that crashed several times before the end of the first chapter(five actually.) This one is listed in no in yellow and does explain this occurance. This game also has a day one patch. So while the website may be of partial assistance, it doesn't inform the player if there are any patches and it doesn't inform of all games that have performance issues. More of a "the game works" sort of thing and that's it.
those are very useful sites you've found, thank you for sharing! so bittersweet though, i wish i didn't have to do this sort of stuff when collecting 😭
i’m both a physical and digital gal. but i mostly go digital because i travel a lot and i like to have my games easy and convenient to play while doing so, like with my switch ☺️
I've been getting back into PS3 lately and I upgraded the internal storage (160GB to a 500GB MX500 SSD). So I was inserting each of my discs and downloading any updates they had and doing any partial installs. I guess I'm just conditioned now to expect updates, so it was surprising to occasionally find that there were no updates available for a game, I _think_ 'Resistance Fall of Man' and 'Enslaved Odyssey to the West' had no updates. Although reading online, it looks like the only digital version of 'Resistance' added dual shock support (launch title, before the they settled the controller patent lawsuit) and updates for that game were through a now defunct multiplayer server (?), rather than Sony. Add that to the list of problems with modern-ish games,
7:48 that was actually a extreamly useful information for me I actually thought that the Ps5 version of the Final Fantasy 7 remake would have the integrate DLC on the disc that is the only reason why i wanted to buy it later on because i already have the PS4 version but now that know that the Ps5 version is basically the same as the Ps4 version and you have to download the DLC for both anyways I will not buy the PS5 version that saved me some money!
In terms of Xbox collecting info, all backwards compatible games for the Original Xbox and 360 download the games from an online server, and just use the disk to verify. The disks work like normal on a 360, but the backwards compatible titles have typically a higher resolution and framerate. the Rare Replay downloads most of the games because it uses the ports they made for the 360, and the Master Chief Collection downloads some titles because not all of them were on at launch. The launch version of the MCC is not good anyway, so I would recommend just buying the original versions of the games in the collection if you want a full disk experience. The only other game I know of that doesn't have the game fully on the disk is Halo Infinite, but as far as I know all the Fable and Gears of War games are complete on the disk. I heard Starfield as well is going to have a physical copy for Xbox, but they're doing that annoying thing Sony is doing where the collector's edition only comes with a digital copy. Those decisions ruined any desire for me to get the Spiderman 2 collector's edition, I think Sony and Microsoft especially are moving away from physical game releases unfortunately, which when that happens I'm just only going to get games on Steam to play on my PC or Steam Deck
Great video. Does It Play is amazing been following them for awhile. Great resource on collecting. When it comes to PlayStation it seems like you almost gotta buy both PS4 and PS5 versions with how the compatibility issues and glitches are with PS4 versions on PS5. I wonder if the next generation of Switch if it backs BC if it will have similar issues?
A topic I’ve never thought about. Until you mentioned it in a previous video I had no idea that there were updated cart releases. I guess my plan is just to make sure I download all updates and do backups before servers go offline. This is why I soft modded my PS Vita and PS TV and just loaded everything onto SD cards and made sure all patches were downloaded then backed up the SD cards.
Thank you, Emily, for sharing this. I just checked my Octopath Traveler's code in cartridge (it's 002) and compare it with Crisis Core (which is 000). And yes, there's a 700MB+ update on Crisis Core vs 100MB+ update on Octopath Traveler. Interesting, but there's no way to know that from looking at the case, right..😶
Luckily Spyro Reignited Trilogy got a PS4 physical revision that includes all 3 games and the latest patch on the disc (no download required). You can tell by the copyright date on the disc saying “2018,2019” instead of just “2018” and also sealed copies have an ad leaflet for the Crash Team Racing remake in the case which means its the revised complete disc
Cold Steel 1-2 have issues with mist and similar effects on the PS4 Pro. The normal PS4 and PS5 doesn't have this issue. It's not game breaking, but there are crazy FPS drops that anyone will notice. It only affects a few parts of the game though. It's fairly easy to transfer save files from PS5 to PS4 though, so I will definately try on the PS5 next time I play CS2.
Its a shame about Trails of Cold Steel II, since my PS4 stopped reading discs and it has issues on PS5. I am surprised that some of this isn't more common knowledge though. I always hear people say that there's no point to buying physical games on PS5 or PS4 since they all require internet and I knew that wasn't true.
I've heard a lot of misinformation circulated about this as well, but I'm glad to help spread awareness about these resources that have taken the time to test out whether or not this is really the case :)
One section of my PS4 collection is 'unplayable online only games due to shut down servers'. On one hand just funny to have them physical, on the other hand a reminder that games can just vanish.
This is a very informative and helpful video Emily. Thank you for this! I ended up selling or trading away any Switch games I owned that blatantly state that the game requires an additional game cart. I'd only be willing to keep them around if I already have them on another system in the case of Spyro for example. Definitely going to follow these websites you suggested!
Great idea for a video. As a game collector, I always do my research and make sure the game can at least be completed without patches, if not I'll get it digitally on Steam if I really want to play it. Most PS4 games outside of some AAA titles are complete. For the Switch you're usually good if there is no Download required label on it, although the NIS Collections were released broken, so it does happen occasionally. I'll be honest though, this industry practice is likely going to be the primary reason that I'll be getting out of gaming collecting when the PS4 and Switch stop releasing games. It's a shame though, physical games still have their advantages (cheaper prices for many titles, region free availability, ability to lend to friends and family, don't have to worry about post-release censorship, prevents the abandonware problem due to delisting), sigh.
@@orbalology Yeah I've gone back and forth on them countless times, will probably just buy digitally unless I find them cheap. It's a real shame though, who doesn't want two full PS2 JRPGs updated for hybrid gaming? *Sigh*
Aye thanks for the tips on collecting games for the switch game card. I focus mainly on PlayStation and switch,so I’ll be looking into the games I buy more closely.
soo helpful! thank you:) I wonder what motivation does Nintndo have when releasing revised cards. I would have thought that they wanted us to download patches as that devaules physical games and incentivize us to buy remakes/remasters once the servers go down.
I recently got the reissued version of spyro on ps4. The one that has 2018/2019 on the disc. Now i want to for xbox one just to have it. Great series. Great video.
Modern physical games I haven’t cared for hoping to have the complete game on the physical media since how complex high budget modern games are, business practices and just the overall how games are becoming more digital now. I will buy physical still if I can get a game I want for a cheap price. I still feel ok with buying Nintendo switch games physical since it’s very old tech and switch games are lot huge games when it comes to data compared to Xbox and PlayStation so most likely the games will have the game playable without any sort of internet connection to just pass the title screen.
It's a bit of a misconception that modern Xbox relies heavily on an online connection. Most Xbox One games do have full offline builds on disc and work just fine without internet connection. Some releases even have advantages over their PS5 counterparts. Metro Exodus complete edition and Greedfall Gold edition have all DLC on disc on the Xbox version while with PS5 they contain downloadcodes. However it is important to remember that Xbox One and Series consoles need to be connected to the internet at least once during the setup of the system and also when you want to download system updates. Whenever the Xbox One and Series consoles get abandoned however a fully updated and fully setup system could theoretically function offline until it dies.
Xbox games are on the disc. PS4 and Xbox one are in parity with each other when it comes to full games on disc. Wanted Dead (Xbox one)a recent release was fully on disc with no patch required. I'm sure it's the same for PS4.
I remember specifically ordering the asian version of Final Fantasy X&X-2 for that reason. I wish publishers would just be okay with waiting until a game was finished to release. All of the games with day 1 patches are quite frustrating when all I want to do is put the game in and play. XD
About the 20 year Switch cartridge lifespan, I had OCD when reading about it so I went around for more info and it seems flimsy. Test was based on an extreme temperature change (85 centigrade) to speed up the process, the conservative estimate was given by the manufacturer (estimate's are almost always broken when looking at other physical media) and even Does it Play thinks its flimsy and believe it could go anywhere from 10 to 50+. We'll likely never know specifically until it starts happening.
It is very good to know all these things for example Remothered in the west published by sedesco doesnt have the game fixed bug like the Japanese double Remothered published by 3200. There are quite a few factors right now. Heck going all the way back to greatest hits on ps2, 3, and so on had bug fixes and even extra content. Also I think it's neat that I can kind of play both versions of the game and see where the bugs are and what they are and what was wrong with the game and everything

A few days ago, when downloading a software update, I was pondering the exact same thing: how will I play the game in its most recent and up-to-date version when Switch Online eventually shuts down? We'll be left with an unfinished base game.
Very informative video cheers!
Thank You for very informative video with extra material!
That is valuable information, thank you. Great to see you!
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear you found this helpful :)
:)
also got upgraded to a PS5 very recently. Was not aware of compatibility issues with certain PS4 games. Thanks or sharing.
My pleasure! It's unfortunate that more compatibility issues have come to light on a few PS4 games :(
Really enjoy your videos every week. Its becoming difficult as a collector to know what comes on disk vs needing download. I use several ressources, also one youtuber that has some reviews of games that work offline and with no bugs, Its N-Game Arts. Your resources are excellent, thanks for all your help to the fellow collector community!
Oh I'll have to check out N-Game Arts' videos! And thanks, I'm glad I was able to spread awareness about these :)
Thanks for your contributions! We all appreciate the group's hard work :)
Thanks for the info and loving all the trails love in da background ❤️ 😊
That's really disappointing to hear about the modern xbox systems 😞 And you bring up a good point about the older PC games.
This is something I’ve never thought about before. I’m sure many others haven’t either so thank you for opening our eyes to this important topic. 👍👍 Also, gaming shelf is looking great 😊
Thank you! And glad I was able to share this with you! 😄
Great video Emily , this has been my pet hate as a physical game collection. I remember when games were on the disc that you could play with no downloads.
The biggest one i found was Modern Warfare 2 which you cant even play the campaign without downloading the game from the internet to actually play.
Glad that your videos popped up in my feed! You have a very calming presence and great opinions / takes. Keep it up!
What a great idea for a video. Thanks for sharing the spreadsheet!
Very useful information about the revised cartridges, I had no idea!
Glad I was able to share this with you!
These spreadsheets and websites are just the thing I was looking for thank you! Very informative video as always about physical games. Always appreciate these
Also if you ever pursue collecting for Xbox I recommend Blue Dragon. Best RPG on any xbox system imo
I've heard a lot of great things about Blue Dragon, that and Lost Odyssey are the top two games I would consider picking up for xbox exclusives :)
@@orbalology oh yes Lost Odyssey is also a great pick!
Thanks for highlighting this stuff. Always great to see this issue adressed.
beauty, brains, and loves gaming = Emily 🙂 I really like these informational videos you make.
Thank you for the information some of these things i didn’t know
Happy to help! :)
Picking up and playing a game without any downloads makes it great for me especially if I get impatient. Playing a game without having to wait for a long download is so convenient. Thank you for the information I now there is a guide for everyone to use! 😁👍
I dislike how downloading patches or the entire game itself can take forever too, lol. And my pleasure, glad you found this helpful!
Great video this is something i have even thought about
Thanks for watching! :)
As someone who pretty much Never preorders games(mostly because my backlog is already pretty much neverending), this is yet another incentive of waiting along with the appeal of saving a couple of bucks by getting them at discount from retailers.
It's good to know these things before buying. This is why my Super Famicom is still hooked up 😄😄😄
Wow Emily this is really helpful. I didnt even think of this. Thanks for making this video. I need to look into this more. I hope you have a lovely week!
I'm happy to help spread more awareness around this topic. Hope you have a great week too! :)
Didn’t know there was something like “does it play”, thanks for that!!
I'm glad I was able to spread more awareness about this project!
Emily you have such a big library . I know you must be torn what you want to play sometimes. I don't really collect physical games but I do collect physical movies. A lot of times it takes me a minute to choose a movie or series to watch lol.
excellent topic
Thanks!!
Does it play looks very informative indeed! Very ambitious but much appreciated. I noticed a very seductive Tharja pop up on the shelf, top top purchase ^^ . Very eye opening video and well explained!
Tharja fits in the shelf so nicely 😆 Thanks for watching, Si!
PS5 is my last generation to collect physical games. Times for me to enjoy back retro physical games era PS1.
I have looked into this as well. Good info!
The DoesitPlay community are absolute lifesavers on this front.
That's an incredibly helpful video, thanks Emily! Great work as always :)
those are very useful sites you've found, thank you for sharing! so bittersweet though, i wish i didn't have to do this sort of stuff when collecting 😭
Yep, I was one of those who didn't know about the different Switch game revisions.
We stumbled on your videos. Absolutely love it, keep up the great work!
i’m both a physical and digital gal. but i mostly go digital because i travel a lot and i like to have my games easy and convenient to play while doing so, like with my switch ☺️
Digital can be super convenient, so I don't blame you there! :)
@@orbalology yesss. but physical is a must depending on the game and console
Glad I was able to point this out to you! I was surprised too after reading up on the hidden download.
@@orbalology yes thanks for that it saved me like 40 bucks that i can now use for another game :)
That's a good option, requires a bit of leg work on your end but better to be safe than sorry these days 😞
It's fairly easy to transfer save files from PS5 to PS4 though, so I will definately try on the PS5 next time I play CS2.
what an amazing video thank you!
Awesome tips! Really useful! You've got one more happy sub! :)
Thank you very much - greetings from Poland ^_^
GREAT video as always, my friend! Really appreciate everything you do here, as well as your feedback on this!
Thank you!! I appreciate it :)
I like how u can see which switch games you have a european copy off (its the games where the game title on the spine is in the middle). At 0:40
Yup, a few I got on accident, while others are from publishers that make limited production copies for certain games :)
Thanks, Cesar! I'm currently in the process of doing the same 😂
Great idea for a video.
Those NIS Prinny Collections were a real disappointment! I'm still grappling about whether to get them or not 😅
@@orbalology Yeah I've gone back and forth on them countless times, will probably just buy digitally unless I find them cheap. It's a real shame though, who doesn't want two full PS2 JRPGs updated for hybrid gaming? *Sigh*
Also I bought recently Tokyo Mirrage Limited Edition for WII U and there were no updates since release in 2016!
Aye thanks for the tips on collecting games for the switch game card. I focus mainly on PlayStation and switch,so I’ll be looking into the games I buy more closely.
My pleasure, glad you found this helpful :)
Thanks, this really helps the catching up attempt. You're the best ❤️🔥
Glad to hear this was helpful! 😄
soo helpful! thank you:) I wonder what motivation does Nintndo have when releasing revised cards.
Oh nice! I still need to hunt down that revised version, hopefully someday.
@@orbalologyThanks. Ebay is where I got it from. I had to look at tons of pics to find the right one
Great video! I definitely learned stuff from your video! :)
Glad to spread more awareness about these potential issues & things to look out for :)
Nintendo needs to mandate some standards for their next system's game packaging if a game requires a download or if it's online only.
Wow I had no idea Thank you
As always very useful tips, thanks Emily!!!
Thanks for watching! 😊
Wow! You really love RPGs, nice collection ❤
Thanks, I do indeed :)
Great video and really helpful! Thanks for doing it!
My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful 😊
Awesome video! Interesting and very informative! Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much 😊
Xbox games are on the disc. PS4 and Xbox one are in parity with each other when it comes to full games on disc. Wanted Dead (Xbox one)a recent release was fully on disc with no patch required. I'm sure it's the same for PS4.
Yep it's mainly just first party xbox games that seem to have nothing on the discs. Doesn't bode well for Starfield.
Thanks a lot for the information Emily, I learned so much from this video I appreciate 😊
My pleasure!! 😊
Thank you for another great vídeo, very informative. That website it's really helpful, i didn't knock of it
Glad you found this helpful! :)
This video is very helpful.
I remember specifically ordering the asian version of Final Fantasy X&X-2 for that reason. I wish publishers would just be okay with waiting until a game was finished to release. All of the games with day 1 patches are quite frustrating when all I want to do is put the game in and play. XD
Ugh, I feel similarly. I would gladly wait too 😅
I love these tutorial videos you do.
Thank you 😄
About the 20 year Switch cartridge lifespan, I had OCD when reading about it so I went around for more info and it seems flimsy.
In glad i found your Channel . Very informative
Thanks for watching!! :)
Great content, definitely helping us with this info
I'm happy to be able to help with this 😄
I like that she is speaking so fast, just because of nervousness! Its cute
Another well made video thank you 🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it :)
There are quite a few bugs that can be funny on unpatched games! So I can see how they can be worthwhile keeping.
