149 mph at the finish line is pretty insane. There might be a few cars that can beat the time, but I think very few can beat that speed trap.
It would most likely be faster but for safety reasons they limit the speed to 150 mph at goodwood

That's the front halo support, just like in Indycar and F1. The roof isn't supportive in a crash, the halo bears the weight of any impact instead.
There's no way they turned their vision gt concept into an actual car
The only VGT that became reality was the Audi E-TRON VGT. Now we can add this one to the list :D

It just did a demo run (which was definitely quicker than the Solus but because it was a demo there is no official time set). They know themselves the car is bacially a cheat-code 🤣
Had anyone got close to their record I think they would have competed.

Seems like the McLaren Solus GT is like a downgrade to Red Bull X2010 Prototype.
Why is the driver fighting with the steering wheel so much ? Shouldn't a vehicle with such extreme engineering flow along more smoothly ?
The road is just a road not an actual smooth race track, and it's also very narrow so the driver is making many samll adjustments to avoid going off the racing line.
Exactly.
Racing drivers manipulate the steering with small "jerks" to feel the limit of grip.
Perfectly smooth steering means you already know the limit of grip from practice sessions and simulator time, which is not possible for Goodwood.
