I worked in a Kmart for nine and a half years. While it wasn't perfect, it was still valuable work experience during my younger years and I still miss the store today.
I Hit $32,590 today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last week .i started with 5k in last week 2024..... now i just hit $32,590
Service Merchandise was my favorite. If we had that today, a lot of the store thefts we see happening couldn't happen. Everything was locked up behind closed doors. It was easy to shop in because you weren't visually assaulted with endless volumes of product, just one of everything. You filled out your ticket, paid and waited for it to come out, usually in a basket. You could check it because it was now legally yours, before you left. When ours closed, a lot of people in the area didn't take it lightly. Walmart moved in and everything died.
Houston was booming in the 1980s. Once The Galleria was built, we had Lord & Taylor, North Beach Leather, 5•7•9, and Petite Sophisticate. Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor was also in the Galleria. The Galleria has an ice skating rink in the middle of it, which was HUGE because Houston is a tropical climate. Outside of that, I remember Sakowitz, Palais Royal, Joske's, and Globe.
I worked for Sears. First in Replenishment, which is stocking, then they offered me the position of In-Stock-Specialist for lingerie and hosiery. I ended up having brain surgery to control my seizures. A short time after my surgery I started falling so my neurologist gave me a wheelchair. I still continued to work, though my position changed they moved me to the sales floor because I didn't have to deal with the large boxes and I couldn't get my chair into the stockroom to put away back stock. Sears even set up a drop down keyboard at my level for me. They were wonderfully accommodating with what I needed.I worked for 17 months in my wheelchair! It finally became too difficult and I went on disability on disability January 30th 2000. On my last day, all the store managers came over to me with a huge cake, they said they wanted to take me out to dinner but with Super Bowl weekend, they didn't want to risk it. Sears treated me so well! I can't believe that it's been 25 years since then!
I am an 80s child and miss the old days a lot! I felt like I just went back in time! Thanks a trillion for this video! I hope one of the future inventions is a Time Machine. I would love to travel back to the past and into the future. It would be totally cool.
🤍❄️🤍❄️🤍❄️I remember going to WoollWorth store . It was a two level store with a first floor, & a basement level. I’d go upstairs to take a photo from the photo booth, and buy a pet fish from the basement. You couldn’t tell me nuffin’!🤣💯🙋🏾♀️❄️🤍❄️🤍❄️🤍❄️
Can You do a Video about 1990’s Stores, like The Nickelodeon Store? We had one at Mall Of America Here in Minnesota, before it came back for Nickelodeon Universe!❤️📺🎶👍🏻

Hello how do you make such?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down myself because of low finance but I still believe in God
I think I'm blessed. If not, I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as expert mrs. Georgette Wong....
High recommend 🙌
Wow 😱 Wow 😱 her too
Georgette Wong is a remarkable individual who has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I started my trade int with $5000, and in the space of one month, I got credited with $22,000. It remains my biggest win for the year 2024
remember giving her my first savings $20000, and she opened a brokerage account for me it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.

THX!
Does anybody else remember watching The Goldbergs on Nick@Nite? I totally Love Sean Giambrone, especially on Nickelodeon!😂🤣❤️📺🎶👍🏻
I remember when I used to buy my underwear at K Mart! Definitely K Mart.
I miss Foley's!😢
9:32 The May Co. at Wilshire & Fairfax is now the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures
It’s sad to think that Sears was the Amazon of its time, then made the move to shopping malls. They had the right model after all.
