I remember back when the MPS was new was considering buying a hot hatch and I test drove everything that was available at the time including VW Golf GTI Renault Megane etc. The last car I tried was the MPS and after driving that I forgot the rest pretty quickly. Great variety of cars on the dyno here.

Wtf, what is this cooker on about. The Mazda 6 MPS weighed nowhere near 2 tonne. They were around 1600-1650kg from memory. Much better car, and far more potential than the 3 to be a quick street car.

lmao as soon as he said it made 390-400kw on a "virtual dyno" i was like yeah, no chance it makes anywhere close to that.... sure enough 281kw
@@MrAtmay haha yeah, and he’s been spending too much time looking at dyno results on American forums. There is a well known formula for converting American dyno HP to real HP. American HP - 25% = real HP
Getting the weight heaps wrong willl mean it shows higher power in virtual dyno.
It's a fair bit of power after all, and would be a fun car, but man it's a great example of not saying how much power you think your car makes until you know.......

The saab reminds me of a factory turbo sedan volvo that flogged/put 4car lengths on my stock 5ltr back in the day 🤣. Was a shock to my feelings and pride hahahahahaha
Those 5cyl turbo Volvos can be seriously quick, hot damn 4 car lengths! I'd be thinking WTF was done to that engine!
We had a 850 turbo wagon when I was very young, highlight was to sit in the rear facing 3rd row seating and watch the V8s recede into the distance. Dad was a menace behind the wheel of that.
The 3 MPS back in the day was 190KW and 380Nm stock

musta kinda hurt to get virtual dyno results of 395-408kw and then get humbled with 281kw on the rollers. Still a really cool and unique build.
This is my first proper build and something this modified.. our platform is small here in AUS so could only go from previous builds and their results.. too bad it's all American and blows the numbers out completely.
I'll hit up another dyno soon, fixed a few issues and will take the semis off this time round.

Mates mps with basic mods, stock turbo & E30 blend made 218kw.. so who knows.
@@f35mps81 lol don’t stress dude. As long as it’s fun to drive and feels quick to you. Give it a go against some cars you know make jam it’s not all about numbers. If you’re getting your door handles blown off by 300kw cars I guess something doesn’t add up.

@@f35mps81 wouldn’t worry too much about what a dyno says. Just sucks you said it on camera then next min made no power lol. Different build anyway and that’s what these nights are all about so 🤷🏻♂️

The baddest build their, was the EK Civic AWD k series turbo. Definitely some good money spent on quality parts, that's how a build should be done.
good mix of cars, the magna reminds me of the 13's for $1300 that Jeff Hackett did, then stuck the engine in a mirage for 11s (Hacketts 12 second NA magna in car *TH-cam)

You need wipers on the lamps in Scandinavia. It’s dark 24h a day up north in winter and sleet/snowing

To be fair a car like this needs to be on a hub dyno they are not easy to strap down.

Just so your aware i got dynoed at a different dyno day last week Maxx perfomance Dandy.Im stock internals fbo except stock turbo and ex manifold tuned on e30 and got 218wkw. Dean is a mate and ill tell you that dyno is super harsh or something wrong with it. Guys at the shop said i can expect that its a 230kw car. Also an MPS. Go figure yeah
Interesting bunch of hot rodders. Mostly very clean looking cars so as not to attract attention to the develish motors their hiding. Pass them off as: Just a family man, till they put their foot into it.
Magna was my choice.

Like the Magna , used to race against one at Willowbank that ended up in the 12s. Have however made more power than that with an atmo Barra. Be interesting to see what boost pressure actually is.
