After Sega discontinued the Dreamcast, I started saving up for an Xbox. I knew it would be a console for hardcore gamers, and it was. I like to call the Xbox the last console for hardcore gamers. Starting with the 360, it became all about finding more and more ways to siphon money from gamers' wallets. Plus, that generation began the sad affair of games shipping with bugs or in an unfinished state, to be patched later. I remember one of the Xbox guys, I think it was Seamus Blackley, who said a goal of the Xbox was, "no patches, no ports, no shit." Those were the last greatest days of console gaming, to me anyway. The original Ninja Gaiden (not Ninja Gaiden Black, but the original release) is still the best action game of all time.
Truer words have never been spoken. The original Xbox has the coolest design out of all of them. Every single Xbox since the original has looked kind of shitty, this new series X looks so stupid in my opinion, just a generic box with virtually no aesthetic features.

I bought an original Xbox in 2003 for money I had earned during the summer. I remember comparing closely the diffrences between this and the PS2. My choice fell on Xbox because I was more familiar with Microsoft and it was also so freaking cool! :D
At my dentist, They have a play zone (closed now to COVID before) and it had some claw machines, PAC man, And a driving game, some toys, And I never used it because I play the pac man, but they have a original Xbox...
I worked hard for my XBOX 6 months before it came out I saved a lot of money not knowing The Xbox would come out and suddenly The XBox was there I will never forget the moment I bought The Xbox with my hard earned money as a 17 year old woke up every morning running to work and ran back home mennn yeahh that was the early 2000's
