Reaction - Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse "Dancing in the Dark" in The Band Wagon (1953)

People tend to always think of Fred Astaire in tandem with Ginger Rogers but OMG, I love him with Cyd Charisse. Just pure magic right here. From the 1953 movie The Band Wagon, which TBH I found disappointing when I watched it a few years ago. No fault of either of these two, they were magnificent, but I felt it lacked something. Watch this though!

Fred Astaire was a great singer. He had three of the top ten songs of the 1930's. "Cheek to Cheek", "Night & Day" and "The Way You Look Tonight". My mother was a singer during the late 40's and early 50's. She would tell stories about the people she knew and places she went. Hanging out with the Mills Brothers and singing in a club while Art Carney played the piano. Just a taste of her experiences.

I LOVE Fred Astaire’s voice. So many amazing songs written for him. I’ve heard him sing this one too, just didn’t realize not in this version.
