If Band-Maid isn't ripping your face off (Rinne, No God, Black Hole), they're soothing your soul (Bestie, Daydreaming, Manners). Their music does what great music is supposed to do... move you, if only for a moment, into another realm. What more could you ask for from a Band of incredible Maids?! Thank you, Brian, for bringing your new viewers into the Band-Maid experience.
Some people are “iffy” about Band Maid because the vocals are so different from what you’d expect given the heavy, aggressive, instrumentation in many songs like this one. They want growls and the like, which I think many bands would do these days. I think it’s yet another thing that makes Band Maid unique, and special. They constantly do things that you “shouldn’t do” and which “shouldn’t work”, and the result is perfection.
My understanding is this was Band-Maid's F-U to the Japanese music critics that were insisting Band-Maid was going too "Poppy", so "RINNE" was written to silenced them.......thus "SHUT-UP!" at the end. It was a challenge for Akane (Ah-kah-nee) Japanese language seem to pronounce every vowel.
If you are going to do a walk through of Kanami's PRS limited edition model, you might also include Miku's signature Zemaitis "Flappy Pigeon" in the same video. It's a very nice guitar with a cool case.
This song was the opener for their tour finale at Line Cube Shibuya in 2020. If you get the chance, it was stunning, and Blooming followed. Incredible live opener.
Though they had had some credits earlier the first song that was all them was "Alone" on the 5/18/16 album Brand New Maid. 6 months later they released the single "Yolo" where all 3 songs were completely theirs. Kanami was writing songs since before the band was formed but "Alone" was the first that was accepted to be released. They have since then written the vast majority of their songs, only a very few exceptions, and those were by their own choice. I don't know why your video didn't show up in my feed until this morning, the 14th.
I uploaded this a few days ago and accidentally published it, then scheduled it for today. That is usually a big mistake. So that’s why it might be confusing. Thanks you for watching.
Great reaction and analysis. This song was their fastest at 190 BPM when it was released (they have a faster at 215 "Black Hole") and some people have interpreted the last words "Shut Up" as a message to their fans that "no, in fact, we are not going poppy". This was maybe due to their song "Start Over" (there is a MV) that was a little jazzy, a little poppy, more radio friendly. This song was suggested by the singer Saiki. She is a horror film buff and this was inspired by a movie about a serial killer that filmed his victims at the point of death to see if he could see the soul leaving the body. Supposedly this music video was filmed using 8mm film to give it that old look. Thanks for continuing to react to Band-Maid.
Yep Kanami is using a Mesa Boogie Triple rectifier here, but has since switched to Bogner Uberschal but still uses Mesa cabinet. she still has her Mesa head as back up thank fully as she had a Bogner malfunction at a very hot out door show. it blew a fuse and changing fuses didn't help so they pulled out the Mesa and it was fine. Kanami is a total guitar gear head, do a search for Kanami guitarist pedal board. it's a sight to behold :) Kanami has been writing BAND-MAIDS songs since 2016 with only 1 or 2 exceptions. I enjoy your channel, thanks. cheers
@@GuitarSoloReactions That blown fuse, which Kanami signed, was in a fan giveaway couple months back. Though I haven't seen a post yet from the lucky Maidiac who won it.
More like, “rin-neh,” and “A-ka-neh.” KANAMI was always busy writing songs. It was a while before management felt her songs were good enough to perform.
@GuitarSoloReactions as far as misa....at the point of this video, she used orange amps but now used Aguilar amps and black cloud custom basses...Miku uses EVH 5150 amps and custom Zemaitis guitars....Kanami used a PRS Custom 24-08 and mesa triple rectifier but has transitioned to a bogner amp setup since 2023 and recently purchased a spec custom (you can see in the forbidden tale video) which was just prior to the release of her 200 signature limited edition models for PRS
Great reaction! 🤘❤🔥🤘 ...and as with others mentioning in the comments this did not get around to me until 3 days after you #GuitarSoloReactions released it. 🤔🤔
This mv keeps me coming back again and again. I love it so much. Even when I just listen to the track I hear it in 8mm b&w with burn holes.

Algorithm hated this for some reason, don’t know why it didn’t show up for me.
I messed up when it was published. I also can’t find the original to republish.
