Pam, wow !!!!! I just made the delicious hot butter vanilla pound cake, it’s was moist, the flavors were amazing!!! My husband loved the cake. Thank You!!!❤❤❤
I love your uplifting voice. And never knew about caster sugar, but great tip. I only own several Cuisinart food processors. Will definitely be making this.
My Mother used to make what she called "a true pound cake", because she used 1 lb of flour, 1 lb of eggs, 1 lb of sugar and 1 lb of butter. Also, 1 tablespoon of real vanilla extract. It was fabulous and always a big hit at family gatherings. She never gave out the recipe because she wanted to make something so good, that no one else could replicate it.
Pam this is a awesome cake the vanilla look so rich I thank you for sharing that you don’t always need your blender this was is a awesome video and thank you for sharing I just wish I was there to have a piece of the vanilla cake yummy 😋 🍋🍋👍🏽
You’re going to love it! And honestly it was easier than a mixer. If nothing else I didn’t need to cream the butter and sugar for 5 minutes 😂 I can’t wait to see you make it! Thanks Jerri-Ellen ♥️
wow I've never heard of a hot butter cake but it's so cool that you've made it in a food processor! Thanks for sharing, I totally bet that that's amazingly delicious!
You are Wonderful ❤️ It would be De-licious!! One of those, can't wait to eat it!! Thanks for sharing, Pam 🙌🙏😊 and great tip on castor sugar. Ive seen so many recipes calling for it 👍
I have a question, I’m not much of a baker and I would love to know why we don’t want to overmix the batter? Don’t we in theory want it to be clump-free and smooth?
You always want to mix your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients just until incorporated. They will smooth out as they cook. If you over mix them your cake can turn out dry and dense. Thanks

Just voted for you as favorite chef 2023. ❤ Pam I am shopping for a food processor that will work in place of my hand mixer, and blender and even mix bread dough. My sister is a former caterer and has been helping me look but there’s so many different manufacturers and so many gadgets. Do you have any recommendations or suggestions on what would work best? My kitchen is small and a stand mixer just doesn’t fit. Thanks in advance ❤
I've found that Weis grocery brand sugar is extra fine quality, much finer ground then Domino or other brands I've bought...I'm not sure how many states have a Weis store but if you can get it I hope you try it .Much cheaper then castor sugar surely..
@cookingatpamsplace Came over from the PRYEX video. Can I do this in my cast iron and/or glass? Would I need parchment? Temperatures higher or lower? I only have hand mixer & blender.🤷♀️
Hi Barbra! Not much. At the end of the day it is a pound cake and so is a Kentucky butter cake, a buttermilk cake, a sour cream cake so forth and so on. They are all pound cakes but given their name based on an ingredient used. In this case hot melted butter and vanilla gives it its name. Thanks so much for your support!

Yes and making Caster sugar may not be the exact same as actually buying it but it’s a close second! You’re welcome Noel and thank you so much!

Nicely done, Pam. I only wish that you would've shown us what blade you were using in the food processor.

Looks really good. Do you always eat it plain or do you ever put some type of glaze or icing on it?
