I always loved this song on the album. I remember sitting in my bedroom in the dark as a teen, listening to the record, and almost crying with love for Robin’s voice.
Love watching your reaction to the BeeGees. You do an excellent job of explaining their songs and l can tell you enjoy their music as much as I do. Thank you ❤. Keep sharing the songs of the fabulous BeeGees. Robin’s voice is so beautiful and amazing for sure 🥰 6:48
Agreed! Sir Robin had one of the most distinctive voices in pop music history. I miss him & his other two brothers. I wish that Sir Barry would do a huge song with all of their children. And I would love to see Lesley involved somehow, too. Well. I can dream. Shalom to the three who were gone too soon. 🥀
Robin was a national TREASURE. Nobody could copy his voice. Barry himself said many performers copied and even mocked his falsetto but NOBODY could copy Robin's vibrato and he just opened his mouth and it was natural with no effort. The entire song except for "Country, country lanes" was Robin. It was Robin's voice that made me go out and buy their first album in 1967. Robin spent his last 30 years in the small town of Thame, Oxfordshire in a thousand year old haunted monastery, the Prebendal, far removed from the maelstrom that was most of their life. The home was visited by Henry VIII and Joan of Arc was sentenced to death there. He loved to stroll the country lanes. Another video of this song shows him strolling through the grounds of his ancient home. He loved history and loved that home. He must have felt he was dreaming living a much different life than they had in the rough post war streets of Manchester and their early poverty, a part of the history he so loved. He is buried across the street from his home in St Mary's churchyard. Ten years later his grave is still covered with flowers and tributes from around the world. "Main Course" was a big transition LP for them. My favorite line of the song "If I could live the dream that I see".
@@Zlata1313 - His interview in Bristol with Leo Sayer showed his knowledge and love of history. He had a mind like a steel trap for statistics and facts. Mo said "He could tell you every song ever recorded, the date, who wrote it, who sang it, who produced it and how high it went in the charts....and even what type of toilet paper Churchill's secretary's boyfriend used!!!" TMI!
The "Country, Country " was Barry, but I can see how you would think it Robin. Sometimes they sounded so much alike even though their voices were completely different. Long live my love for you Robin.
You shpuld listen to some of their earlier songs .For Robin, Dearest, When Do I, Oh!Darliing(cover of Beatles sonf from Sgt. Pepper, for Barry, Alive, Words, Tomorrow,Tomorrow, Bury Me Down By The River.
Main course is a great album! Some beautiful songs. Robin's voice is very unique for sure. This group is just fabulous! I love the Bee Gees!! That's Barry with the country roads in the background. Thank you!
Ze zijn nog altijd de beste ik heb al die clipjes en ze zijn zo leuk om ze naar ze te kijken prachtige stem hebben Robin Barry en Maurice we zien Mo en Robin samen met Andy terug aan de overkant❤❤❤❤
Perfect explanation of Robin's ethereal tone. There are so many fascinating aspects to the Bee Gees as a group and individually. Closer than Close is a great Maurice song with a sexy and more mature edge to it. Loving your reactions. Keep it up!
Great Robin! The album 'Main Course' was like a hurricane thru' the world of music, those days. But not because of songs like that one, which I also love. No, because of the transition they made into R&B and also rockin' funktracks like 'Wind Of Change'.
I think of this as the Bee Gees’ Brit version of John Denver’s Country Roads… which they had kept out of the #1 spot with their classic How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
Cant find the link to Karen 's video. But great reaction!❤ I would call Robin's voice dreamy and sometimes haunting - yes his voice is one of a kind.❤❤❤
Could you react to The Bee Gees "Jumbo" it's an oldie but a goodie. Barry sings a riff in it that you'll want to breath for him.....Barry sings it without taking a breath.
Hey Texas Love, got another good one's for you. It's right up your alley if you know what I mean lol. The band is called Party Boys with Jimmy Barney's brother John Swann in the band with Allan Lancaster from Status Quo. and the song is called he's Gonna Step On You Again. So do yourself a favour and please play this song, we just want your chanel to grow bc its great, as you take time out to read befor you play. Love From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Sinead O'Conner??? With our Bee Gees...especially Robin?? She could not be a patch on Robin's very successful butt. Her voice is different, as is Robin's, but it's like comparing apples and limes.
If you want to hear them doing country, try Rest your Love on me….th-cam.com/video/rHVNoeEqKPM/w-d-xo.html it was recorded in 1976, Barry wrote it. Conway Twitty recorded it as well. ( if you don’t know…he is a country artist.
My angel, Robin Gibb!❤ Loved you and miss you so!!❤❤
Robin’s beautiful vibrato is so unique and he wears his heart on the outside when he sings.
Robin was an earth Angel gifted with the most beautiful Vibrato voice ive ever heard ❤ RIP Robin and Maurice together again in Gods Choir ❤️ 🙏 ❤
This may be my favorite song on this album. I LOVE Robins voice soooo much!! I will miss him forever!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always loved this song on the album. I remember sitting in my bedroom in the dark as a teen, listening to the record, and almost crying with love for Robin’s voice.
I’m sooooo glad you liked it!!!❤❤❤
I get very emotional listening to Robin. Then he smiles and everything is ok.
Voice of an angel 😇

Bee Gees forever! Love Robbins voice!
My very favorite Gibb..thank you😉
Barry sings in back ground I hear his voice love them great song 🎵 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Robin’s voice has a haunting quality to it that just can’t be replicated. It’s absolutely singular. ❤
A beautiful haunting sadness. I love it. I've never heard anyone come close to it.

I love this song 🎵
Sad all gone. But Barry
All angels singing in heaven

ITV South Bank Show on The Bee Gees Called Keppel Road is a must-watch for those who like this most illustrious of bands.
@@mujahidamin8504 that's a great documentary on them . One of my favourites.
@Susie Q talking about the Prebendle was one of his favourite things to do. He loved telling the history of it to anyone who's listen apparently.

@@mujahidamin8504 - Another good one is "This is where I came in". You can find it on You Tube. It's @2 hours long.
The "Country, Country " was Barry, but I can see how you would think it Robin. Sometimes they sounded so much alike even though their voices were completely different. Long live my love for you Robin.
Haunting is my best word to describe Robins voice. Or ethereal. Clear as crystal. Barrys is soft, breathy and feathery.
Not always, he is also sometimes strong and raspy! Thats why I love his voice most, bc its so different!

The Bee Gees have such a distinctive sound, you certainly couldn't mistake them for another band, their harmonies are second to none
You can’t help but love each one’s own unique voice, as well as how well they harmonize with each other ❤❤❤
The Bee Gees, their voices, their harmonies, are like a god given gift to the world. 💕
Winds of change
And that was Barry singing "country lanes" in the background.
Robin’s voice is a unique phenomenon❤❤❤
This song I so beautiful
That was lovely...... thanks for the reaction...... thanks also to Karen for putting together this tribute to the twins....
They are so funny. I love watching their interviews.
Beautiful singing. That was Barry with the background vocals - "country country lanes."
I like idea of Robin's voice being in its own land! Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song.

I think the MTV accoustic version is the best!
So beautiful - thanks for posting 👃
You're a great guy! Love Robin, loved the video. Thanks for this!
"Wind of Change" is the one you are thinking of that was revised to R&B. Fantastic song, one of my very favorites! It's got it all!
YES.....please react to WIND OF CHANGE, & SUBWAY since you enjoyed TRAGEDY so much!🎼
Belíssima canção! 👋👋👋🇧🇷 E que voz maravilhosa de Robin! Amo demais Robin!❤❤❤
Definitely Barry singing on background.
Barry does only the "Country, country lanes". The rest is entirely Robin.
Yes, you are 100% right!
Ok I teared up. Whew!

You need to listen to Monday Rain by Robin. It's great
You should do, “the sun will shine”Robin is featured in that it is beautiful.
Love this so much!!
I've always preferred Barry as lead, but i love, love this song. They are all extraordinary
Barry's singing in the background.
Only "Country, country lanes". The rest is all a Robin solo.
Yessssss!!!!
the answer voice under Robin's lead is Barry
I think of this as the Bee Gees’ Brit version of John Denver’s Country Roads… which they had kept out of the #1 spot with their classic How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.
Cant find the link to Karen 's video. But great reaction!❤ I would call Robin's voice dreamy and sometimes haunting - yes his voice is one of a kind.❤❤❤
I keep waiting for you to do Massachusetts! Live! In Australia!
👍
2:48 Barry
❤
Wunder if they Ereignisse performed Country Lanes LIVE on stage. Anyone knows ?
