I must have the perfect head shape for this helmet because it fits me perfectly with the straps landing right below the ear lobes. I am a standard medium in all bike helmets and this in medium fits me like a glove. Bummer it didn’t work for you.
Glad it worked for you! Ive had a few of the POC Crane helmets for BMX. I really liked those and really was looking forwards to this helmet. The actual helmet part fit perfect but the straps were a deal breaker for me. Unfortunately the Customer Service Rep has left me with a sour taste about POC.
I ordered the small size for my wife and the strap is even shorter !! Don't understand How a high-end product company such as POC made this kind of design flaw and it did not improve it after a year !!!
Bummed to hear they still haven't changed it. When I talked to Customer Service/ Warranty, he said they were changing it on the new ones but I guess not. That call made me lose a lot of respect for POC and don't plan on buying anything from them again. Less than helpful for the return/warranty and I had to pay for it to be shipped back.
I got my large for xmas and the straps fit below the ear...but when I adjust the chin portion it ends up off to one side so the buckle is not directly under my chin. Keeping the helmet, but lots of complaints on the non adjustable straps on YT. Crazy they did this.
That was a poor support saying you have to spend more money on their misstake, and you also had to spend money for the shipping, I think you did right in returning it, I have been looking at POCs helmets for some time and thats how I stumbled on your video, knowing now what a shit company they are, I will def not buying one of their helmets. I also think their Mips system is questionable with just a few paddings inside, what a joke.
@@Atopper Yes, I think POC is an over rated company by many, I will go Giro or Met I think, I really like Giro's Spherical Mips, its Mips 2 and the future of helmet safety in my opinion, Bontrager also have a nice thing going, Bontrager def is an option as well, not to forget Abus.
I like how POCs fit, actual helmet wise. Customer service and manufacturing defects are going to keep me away now. My old bontrager I liked, my current specialized prevail 2 I am less than impressed with. Labor will be my next one. XL head doesn’t help with selection.
I returned mine right after this video bc the straps were defective but I think it would have made a perfect all around helmet. Can always try to get a new PR on your commute lol
When I talked to POC customer service, they told me that the Ventral air had the longest straps but couldn’t tell me now much longer. And considering they had me pay shipping to return this one, I didn’t want to waste anymore money with them.
You can adjust the strap!! It’s a fiddle as it’s one long strap but you can lower the joining point of the front abs back strap

Damn that’s sucks. I ordered a large and I’m waiting on it but I’ve def seen people complaining about the straps. Hope it fits my ears nicely.

Glad yours worked out for you. It’s interesting that there seems to be such a variety of strap lengths. My buckle was under my chin but too tight.
That strap looks like a mixup in manufacturing, I got a medium size one and the strap fits fine for me even have some extra space around the ear.

It really is a shame. I was a full on POC helmet person before this. Now I won’t be anymore.

So many have the same complaint,… POC couldn’t give crap, they have known about this problem from the outset! Avoid!
