For the province based specialist pathway with hospital restricted license, you don't need to take the exam at all! If not then what is the criteria for this pathway exactly as I would like to know if I can acquire fellowship based on my training in Pakistan.
Dr. Junayd, the first step is you have to get in as a clinical fellow and typically after completing a year to few years of fellowship, based on your accomplishments and the relationships you have with the hospitals, they may decide to offer you a province based specialist pathway after which the province based restricted license cycle kicks in. To my knowledge, there are no criteria specified that you can find online. This is the reason I share the secrets here. This is based on my many years of experience of me being an IMG in Canada and seeing many successful IMGs. The first step is to get in as a clinical fellow. Not easy but possible if one has an accomplished CV in their home country.
I saw your question on the MCCQE1. At this time it is not required for Province Based pathway but Canada may decide to change this rule anytime. There is nothing you, me, or any IMG can do about this except that we just have to follow the rules. So I would focus on the bigger picture of establishing as a successful IMG and not worry about these small steps like exams, paperwork, etc. that come in the way!

Depends on how keen you are to move to Canada. Being trained from Nigeria, the Royal College pathways are super difficult to get into. The options i can think fo are 1. You can apply for fellowships in Cardiology (after you have completed Cardiology). If successful then you can explore province based specialist pathway 2.
