That being said, when the two words are combined into one, even the French pronunciation manages to add the third syllable in the middle of the name, so yeah, it's still a mispronunciation regardless. It just shows that language is quirky though. Two monosyllabic words coming together to form a trisyllabic word is definitely weird when you think about it.

In 1938 - that's before WW2, 86 years ago - Mercedes set a speed record with model W125 for the aurobahn: 432,7 kmh / 268,8 mph. That was the measured average during a 1km straight, when driven in both ways. Needless to even mention how dangerous it was with the tires and technology available, absolutely mad achievment. Reaching 400 kmh in the desert with modified F1 half a century later is not bad either - but I somehow thought it would look easier...

Ever since I discovered the 99 Reynard (CART car), I’ve often wondered what an F1 car set up for superspeedways might actually look like (given that CART had a superspeedway package that used wings far smaller than even F1’s Monza wings (for reference Monza wings are roughly equivalent to Indycar/CART short oval wings)). Perhaps this is the closest we will get to that.

Why not set up a temporary half pipe on either end of a tunnel for the car to be able to make it onto the wall and subsequently ceiling of the tunnel and back off again? Either an F1 or an LMP/SRP1 car (probably the safer option, and is capable of the same speeds).

Too much highspeed isn’t that good, it has to be adjusted to the braking speed and traction of the car…
For instance a Bugatti Chiron could overtake an F1 Car on a straight line, but it could never lower its speed fast enough to hit the chicane perfectly…
So if F1 Engines weren’t restricted, their brakes and wings would have needed to be adjusted to the former balance (speed-braking)

They took an v10 f1 car, and modified it whithin the rule's on which the car was built. No wheel covers. No extra aerodynamic shape. Still a huge amount of downforce. They could have raced this car in 2005. It would have been of the pace, but it would have been legal. And no other legal f1 car can hit those speeds
