Question, how do you pull off those fender flares without breaking the clips?? I broke 3 just pulling🤦🏾♂️ now I have to purchase a passenger flare 🤦🏾♂️ Any tips before I attempt to remove the driver side.?
The 2023 has a slightly redesigned fascia. There are now white plastic pegs on the side in addition to the d shaped tabs and where the fascia goes into the headlight there are different connectors there now as well.
Fender flair removal could have been more detailed. There are two kind of clips - the upper clips need to be removed from the body before they can be re-installed. Passenger side the retaining clips can be compressed from the hood area - Driver side you need to take more screws out of the wheel tub so you can get at the back of the clips to compress them.
I'm about to do a grille change on my '21 Sierra SLT. I'm a decent DIY'er. 1-10 scale of difficulty with 10 being a the toughest, how would you rate this project? Great video!
@@MandRautomotive I did the grille swap and it turned out awesome. Your video was truly a step by step tutorial. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!!!
I have a problem with this video. I just took off an upper bumper cover like he shows. Mine was a 2022 Sierra. You cannot get to the tabs from below like he states. To release them, you very carefully have to put a small flat blade between the upper and the lower edge of the grille and push the tabs down to release them. It looks to me as if all of the release tabs on his cover are gone. It seems that GMC has gone above and beyond to make this as difficult as possible.
By the outer surrounding part I mean the part of the grill that is painted to match the truck paint, can that be separated from the rest of the grille? Thanks for your reply
@@youtubewatch5886 have you figured that out? I know they have the overlays so I’m assuming it does. I’m looking to change mine to a mesh grille so I’m wondering the same thing
@@youtubewatch5886 so to separate the surround from the actual grille on the oem one, would you still have to basically do these same steps to separate them or is there an easier way since all you wanna do is remove the surround?
It must be fun putting those 4 screws back in, inside the fender. I want to paint my grill surround, but think I’ll just tape everything well! I’m quite comfortable as a DIYer, but those clips are a pain
Great video. No B.S. and right to the point. It was very helpful. Thank you
Glad it helped

Am I the only DIYer that feels like this is a hell of a lof of possible clip breaking just to change out this grill?
They sell them online :)

I think its fairly straight forward with mostly clips. Difficulty about a 5/10 for me. Let me know how it goes

Hey bud great video! One question though!
Does the bumper only have to come off because of the 3 bolts at the bottom of the grill?
yes, sir. In order to get to them, you need to unclip the bottom partition

Agreed
Does the inner and outer surrounding part of the grille separate from each other?
Hi. I'm not really sure what you mean by inner and outer part.

@@1776_Apparel yeah the oem grills separate from each other but aftermarket ones don’t and that’s what I don’t like about the aftermarket ones.
