A couple things I forgot to mention: GOOD - I’m ALWAYS pre-planned 1-3 loads out. BAD/ANNOYING - you have to enter in a 3-5 digit code before you can move the truck. Mine’s 5 digits and must be entered EVERY time I release the truck brakes 😡 You will also get FIRED IMMEDIATELY for doing a U-turn on a public road unless it’s under the direction of the police and recorded by the dash cam for proof
Scott - did you ever think about getting your own truck or leasing? You have been in the game a while now and seem like you have a business background. Just a thought because you do seem to enjoy driving
Rocky D I have a business degree and do have a mind for numbers/business. It’s crossed my mind but, to be honest, I’m not married enough to this industry to invest into it like that. I’ve also heard way too many horror stories about leasing. Now a lot of those may have been those drivers sucked at accounting for their expenses and such but it still scares me a bit.
@@RushinTruckin it's about always knowing your numbers at all times. Watch Big Rig CEO channel. Once get my CDL and get my year in as a company driver I'm going to lease on with Schneider. They have their own load board. So you're not competing with other owner operators out on the spot market. Check it out Scott. You have what it takes.
Land of the Free I have conditional offers from them for the jet set tanker and regular OTR positions. Their benefits are really expensive ($170ish/week just medical for a family) compared to others. For the jet set tanker, I was told 46 cpm about 1500 miles/week $25 load $35 unload. Comes out to a $50k-$75k range supposedly. 3 weeks on 1 week off (well...5 days at home book ended by travel days to get where you’re needed) Driver keeps the airline miles. Travel to and from airport and 2 checked bags are reimbursed or paid for. It’s slip seat which sucks but is understandable
Even if they pay less, long trips are far more profitable than the loading and unloading times involved in short trips. I worked for Knight about 15 years ago and really liked them. That was before the damn cameras, so I don't know how much things have changed. I only left because I moved to Asia. Utah was the place you could really get your speed up.
Rushin' Truckin'... Thanks buddy for sharing this detailed information. I live in Citrus County Florida, and this was extremely helpful in the way you broke it down. I have done a exhausting amount of research in the Trucking field for 5 years straight now. Hard core over the past 6 months. I have made up my mind to go with Knight to start out with as it has been the 2nd best choice that I have come across as a whole, and that will be within the next few months. Just trying to get all my affairs in order, and be financially ready for at least a solid month before I head to Phoenix for CDL Training. I really wanted to start with Prime, but they just aren't hiring out of Florida. (at least not for now or anytime soon apparently.) I know they all say the 1st year is the toughest, and we all have to start somewhere. No shame in my game starting with Knight. Haven't heard anything too negative except for them STILL not having APU's. Yes, they have been talking about this whole "researching" into the APU's for a long long time now like another commenter said. That just might be a game changer for me to be honest, but I'm being hopeful as I have a good outlook on Knight and I want to do the best I can for them, and for myself. After that first year, if it's not what I thought, at least there will be tons of doors that open up right?? Thanks again and look forward to more Vlogs from you.
Ted Birkeland you’re welcome. If you’re not even in the game yet, consider Millis Transfer. They offer schooling for $500 then want you to drive for them for 1 year (you sign a contract to do so), but you’ll make great money that first year, get top notch training, and have the best equipment on the road. The only thing is, going with them and being out of Florida, you will have to sacrifice home time. I don’t know enough about Knights training program so I can’t comment on that without guessing. If you didn’t know, Millis is who I was with my first year
It’s 2020 no refrigerator, no apu, no satellite radio, no microwave, maybe an inverter. Pay about .4¢ less..... I appreciate your honesty. It’s amazing they can actually recruit with a straight face and tell you "come drive for us".
Why can't you idle the truck why does it shut off You are human beings doing an important very stressful job you need to be comfortable n none of this sounds like you're allowed to be comfortable.
@@RushinTruckin its sad n so sorry you all are treated this way. Seems most companies no matter what business wants 150-1000% out of ya but no give back its a shame 😥 i know im just the little guy (woman) but still, its isnt right
I only drove for a little over 4 months, worked for 2 different companies. It did not take long through experience and talking to other drivers to realize that the dispatcher got a bonus for every driver that reached 10,000 miles a month. I would run hard for 2 and half or 3 weeks. Then found myself sitting in a truck stop for days on end. I was being told there was no loads. It was amazing how once that 4 week period was over, loads were found and I was driving hard again for 2 and half to 3 weeks. For me it was the worst job I ever had.
Yea I ran for them in 2008 after 4 months I had to go but like this man says all carriers have good and bad but depends on what ur looking for in a company knight just wasn't for me
Extremely informative! I’ve been looking into Knight and have reached out to 3 recruiters who won’t give me pay info. Thank you very much. Sounds like Swift might be a better option for me.
Rushin' Truckin' looking for a CDL school right now. Starts at 37, 3 cent increase at 3 months, 1 cents increase after 6 mo, 1 cents increase at 1 year. They offer several bonuses that are realistic to obtain. Utuber Stephan Harz talks about the silver, gold and platinum drivers.
Laszlo Horvath gotcha. If you’re located in the eastern half of the country then consider Millis Transfer. Can’t find a much better starter company all around. Great people and great rookie pay. I started there and made $55k my first year in the industry.
That’s why I have a very small circle, drive truck, and no longer do videos. I know I’m not interesting. I did all my videos to be helpful, not entertaining. Preciate your opinion, though
Thanks for the info, I think I will definitely be going flatbed if I do go. I know there is a good bit of physical labor involved but I kinda like that.
Since Knight and Swift merged Can knight drivers stop at Swift terminals to park overnight, sleep, shower, eat while driving through to their destination?
Only my 2 pennies my friend, I would stay through the spring then look at other options. Hartland Express runs the southeast, prime lease is not a bad deal , hazardous haul fuel local , school bus have summers off . Just a few thoughts, there is better than Knight transportation out there . Best wishes and God Speed!
Michael Rains thanks for the suggestions, Mike! Heartland pays less than Knight (they night out Millis while I was there and when I left there, I was offered a job with Heartland), Prime isn’t hiring out of Florida, I would go insane dealing with kids everyday 🤣. I would consider fuel if I can find a place I’m qualified for in my area.
Rushin' Truckin' I ran the road for 12years and now I’m running roll off trash trucks for Republic services and I’m very very happy doing it. It’s easy good money, home everyday and pretty good equipment. Look into it man
Hey I'm at Heartland Express now. But i'm applying to Knight. My biggest issue is the pay that protective pay at $1250 and miles been avg 1700-1350. I really wish I could stay but I need more miles, It's slow every week.
Prime has been great for me. I left for about 10 days to move to another carrier and hated it. Called Prime back and lucky for me the let me come back. I get great loads/miles and the pay is good for me. The equipment is no older than 3 years.
Come back to Florida Rush where it’s warm out here. Amazon has Terminals out here and start Truck drivers at $21-$22 Hourly, my Cousin was recently hired and she loves it..
The trucks are equipped with an auto shut off feature that will cut the engine after about 5 minutes of the outside temp is between 32-70. You can over ride it on SOME, not all, of the trucks. Otherwise, you're stuck with dealing with it. It can def be a pain sometimes
Oh my you said middle of the road , just bye chance , It was a knight truck that caused that big pile up in Wyoming . It was stoped on the Hwy you may want to start looking for a new job after the law suits they may just be done .
Michael Swann I saw a video that showed that Knight truck. Scary stuff!! A guy that was in my orientation class has been stuck at a truck stop out there along I80. It’s been closed
@@RushinTruckin Wow, I go to orientation with them next week. They're starting me at 46-55cpm sliding pay scale (2 years experience, but 0 OTR). You're getting shafted on that pay, brother. Check out KLLM if looking for higher pay. I would have gone there if Knight didn't offer me comparable pay.
Maybe they've upped their scales. I left last July. The scale is ok in theory but it seemed as though my load were very often just long enough to put me at the lowest cpm. Florida is def one of the lowest paying states for a Trucker
TertiaryAdjunct nope, not a single one! Supposedly, they’ve been “researching” them for a long time so doesn’t look like they’ll be adding them anytime soon
Manual Trucking Manual I found a local gig in Minnesota for 27/hr. It’s not nearly as physical as food/beverage delivery but I am averaging about 55hrs a week. Thinking about moving down to Texas by the end of this year though. Winters up here are brutal! You still running regional with Millis?
My goal in this company is to gain the experience primarily. More specifically my 1 year mark and 2 years if I can bring myself to push pass knights BS. Whether this company chooses to run me hard or not...the result is either stretch that time casually for my experience gained or make a good amount of money. A win win no matter how you slice it as long as you have the patience. If you're a low key, non complaining, quiet, stay off the radar kinda guy or gal...you're good. If your the opposite, take no bs, get me home when I say, no I will not run that load because of the bs I went through last time, you didnt pay me for this this and this...like me 😎 you need to be on top of your game. Boss hog your way through this mofos. Then get out asap 😂😂
Recently got hired by Knight. Going out with a trainer in about a week from now. I do have driving experience. I will be out of the Tulare California yard. Any advice on what I should expect with Knight. One thing I like is the no forced dispatch.
Nice equipment (for the most part), nice terminals (for the most part), preplanned with 1 or 2 loads 95% of the time. You’ll be known for your truck number and that’s about it. Low pay for experienced drivers. Benefits are just ok. The idling program sucks (auto shut off on trucks between 36-70 degrees) unless you’re lucky enough to get a truck who’s auto shut off can be overridden. Prepare to be on hold for a long time when you need to call in. I had two different dispatches in my 5 months and had both of their cell phone #’s but they still rarely answer cuz they’re so busy. 30ish drivers per dispatcher (Driver Manager is what they call them). I left cuz of the low pay (36 cpm take home...I’m making 60 cpm take home now)
@danny How has your experience been so far ? How was training out of tulare ? Im getting ready to go to there for trucking school. thinking of either signing on with swift or knight but cant decide.
@@itravel24 I decided not to take the position because I thought I was only going to have to go out one week with a trainer but they wanted me to go out 28 days over the road with a trainer. I'm already an experienced driver and there's no way I'm gonna live in the truck for 28 days with another man.
Big Daddy King give Millis Transfer a look. I started through them. Can’t ask for a better starter company. Check out my other videos. 90% of them are about Millis
Pretty sure he’s a Squire which means he’s on a kind of probation period. After 6 months I think? He will get a 10c raise. And after he hits his first 30k a 1c raise which will bring him up to 46c a mile. Honestly as of right now swift is a better paying company. With 5 years experience at swift you would get 50c a mile and a 200 dollar bonus a week if you do a easy 2200 miles. So with the bonus you would earn about 1300 a week easy. Wish I had stayed at Swift with that bonus I would be earning 1500 a week.
You should get that new truck soon, I’m surprised they haven’t sold the one you’re in already. But with the LTs you can’t override the idle unless you’re in a freightliner with the opti idle. They’re supposedly changing the idle parameters to 33-60 but we’ll see how that goes. But I’d recommend sitting down with a tax pro and adjust your witholdings to where you get the least taken out but still get income tax back. I still got taxes back and avg about 900-1100 a week. Hit my inbox if you have any questions man, be safe out here
Does or did knight provide CB's in the truck or are they a company that will fine you for having one? (I've heard some companies think they are a distraction when really they can save your life)
They don't provide them nor do they fine you for having one. You'll have to wire it yourself unless you come upon a Knight mechanic that isn't busy and willing to do it (good luck)
@@RushinTruckin I've got my dad and brother to call on for that one, dads been driving since the 90's and my brother owns his truck, he's had to redo his factory wiring sitting on the side of the road.... 🤣🤣🤣 besides if not I got a buddy down around Baton Rouge

@@BIGONE81 I drove for Knight for 6 month and they ask me to come to the refer side so I finally said yes. They gave me a truck and I did a pretrip and the brakes was bad, the tires were bald among other things. I went to my DM from the dry side, told him I want to come back and get my old truck back, what refer side is trying to give me is pathetic. So he went ok lol. So I stayed where I was lol. This was in Olive Branch MS. And this was in 2014, I been out of driving or working in that matter for a few years, I just stayed home and in the process lost my CDL because I didn't get a normal dot physical, and lost my license. Then I got a divorce, so I'm trying to talk with Knight to give me schooling to get my CDL back. Because when I drove for them they were good to me. A lot of companies is turning me down because I have no employment for the last few years. Prime, IROEL, PAM, Swift etc. All except CREngland and I'm hearing a lot of horror stories about them, so I'm hoping Knight comes threw for me.
Brad Haughton fuel solutions are chosen based on a computer algorithm using your current fuel level and suggested route. The ones that you’re given will have the cheapest fuel at that time
Bro that Collision system is dangerous as fuck when people are exiting...it thinks that the car in front of you is slowing down in your lane when they in fact have already exited.
Yes, it is! It’ll slam those brakes on when they aren’t needed. Externally dangerous in snow or rain... especially when it picks up the guard rail on a turn...🤦🏼♂️
I've had both. I had the iPhone 11 pro max but now have the Note 20 ultra. I have Verizon post paid and it does pretty good for the most part. There are some dead zones going across i10 and i20 in Alabama and Mississippi. Haven't been out west while trucking so can't speak to out there. I've heard AT&T good as well.
Never heard anything good about Werner. Knight could be a good option to get you into the industry. They pay crappy so unless you really like them and aren't money motivated then just stay with them for your first year then move on. You might consider Roehl
Lakeland FL terminal driver here knights a good place for new grads as they spoil them . Experience drivers are wasting time here , but hey it’s been like that for years . Mediocre pay with a kiddie pool atmosphere describes knight lol
Not the best not the worst for sure...With your experience I think you can do better though maybe try Marten or Rohel? Rohel has got a pretty solid program I'm looking into them myself just got back into trucking last year...too many other trucking companies that are way more competitive with pay to take a pay cut or deal with a truck that has a lack of equipment...just some suggestions, but if Knight works for you and you're ok then keep on truckin man best of luck!
Marc P Marten denied me, no explanation. I’ve looked into Roehl when I first got into the industry. I was between them and Millis. Ultimately went with Millis. Roehl doesn’t pay the greatest either so between them and Knight, I chose Knight because he have a terminal 40 miles from my house. I always have my eyes and ears open for opportunities but central Florida and south is horrible for great options for truckers. More options open up once I hit my 2 yrs experience mark the end of this year.
@@RushinTruckin Dam that sucks man, about Marten that is strange. Cool man yeah hang in there if you got something else you're lining up at the 2 year mark.
Damu Bloc I tried, bud. I went to their orientation, found out I was diabetic, had to get under a doctors care and get my numbers right. I went back to Millis in the meantime. Got my numbers right. 1 week before I could go back to Crete, I had a fender bender at a Loves. Now Crete won’t take me until that’s at least 1 year old
Shadownian both companies I’ve been with so that as well. Buy yourself a truck gps and use the addresses given. They give written directions to you in case your gps stops working

I live in Florida and trying to get my cdl but a lot of schools don’t expect my application because I’m from Florida. Do you have any school recommendations?
James Grice I went through Millis. Give them a call. Not sure if they’re hiring out of Florida right now or not. Check out Knight as well. Unless you have thousands just sitting around to give to a place like Roadmasters or a community college, then going to a carrier that’ll both train and employ you is the best route in my opinion. Yes, you may have to sign a contract to work with that carrier for a year but once you get that 1 year of experience, more opportunities will become available
Check out koch they have a specialized golf cart division that runs in Florida as far as running 48 they have other divisions for that they only require 6mo specialized freight is were the $is
J AY called them today. They only have manual transmission trucks. I have an auto restriction on my license and bad knees. Even floating gears...still not interested in a manual. I appreciate the suggestion though
No worries. You can also look into Lessors inc out of dover, fl. It's refrigerated but they have mostly good reviews. Long hauls and they run new Cascadias with auto transmissions.
Driving for ADS, Advanced Drainage Systems. They're a drainage pipe manufacturer that has a private fleet of trucks, kinda like Walmart, in that we haul only our own products
not sure i could drive for a company like that to be honest. But to each there own. Good luck there and when it gets hot let us know how it is in the truck, will be curious.
There's two ways around it that I know of from when I used to work at knight pull the trailer brakes but leave the truck breaks unpulled and kick the truck into high idle. And some of the trucks if you just bumped the idle up by itself that'll do the job 2 . and by the way they've been saying that about alu's for the last 2 years and they still haven't bought any
Trucking Journeys thanks for the tips!I haven’t found a way to bump my idol on this particular truck. I could in my T680 at Millis. Then they prob aren’t going to get APU’s then. If I’m still here during the summer and I can’t make myself comfortable while I sleep then I’ll be outta here. That’s inhumane and unsafe to have drivers not get proper rest to safe a few bucks
@@RushinTruckin if you want a company that does true otr has apus and will hire out of Florida, id go with a reefer company, idk about terminals and all but prime is decent plus you get a 5cpm raise if you take the small truck, they have apus and run all lower 48, I know j&r schugel hires outta Florida they run reefer have apus, kw and international as well as running all lower 48, tbh schugel goes to California not often, but u can get a load out that way maybe once a month if you ask for them. Nathan Richmond Hoag that may be but I’ve heard from many drivers that local gigs are really physical work and they work out your 14 each day then you have your commute time on top of that... sometimes 6 days a week. That life doesn’t sound any better to be honest. Even the daily routes for the food places (US Foods, McLane, SYSCO) only pay $60k in Florida and those I KNOW are hard on your body... especially your back.
Perhaps I am wrong but, one of his pillar qualifications for a company beyond money is he wants to be on OTR running all 48. A local gig wouldn’t satisfy that. Gotta love what you do, just as much as you enjoy the pay.
@@RushinTruckin bro, I run doubles as a shuttle driver for US foods. dropping at yards. 4 days a week (night shift), off Tuesdays and Fridays, saturdays, about 12hrs a day, 400 miles or so, 24 bucks an hour. makes as much as i did at millis otr spending 16 days on the road. otr has its nice moments, but you just end up driving the same routes anyways. how many times can you drive through Nashville to Georgia without it getting boring as heck lol.

I started with knight in 08, I leased a truck, beat their lease and left for a better paying company. 3 terminals in Texas Katy, El Paso, Hutchins. We’ve been asking for APU’s since 2008, good luck with that. You never could idle your truck, they hated it. Do yourself a favor stay out of Laredo in the summer.
I left with my truck after I got it refinanced elsewhere in 2013, sold that vehicle in 2018, and I now have a 2020 Freightliner. It really is not hard to beat their lease program, but Swift has a better one, and it is just as easy to beat.

(especially as I live in Mass where most companies wont even hire out of...lol)
leagueofotters the one driver I spoke to said he we told he’d be home every weekend. He claimed that wasn’t the case. They primarily haul building material like lumber and dry wall so they do a lot of tarping. They have a sister company/division called Sun...something. That side claims that 80-90% of their loads are drop, hook, and pre-tarped and also home every weekend 48 cpm. I considered them but the transition would be tough cuz they only pay $500/week during the 3 week training (1 week orientation and securement then 2 weeks on the road with a trainer)

(at least not for now or anytime soon apparently.)
I know they all say the 1st year is the toughest, and we all have to start somewhere.
Jimmyjo Syed agreed. I may not last here long
Why can't you idle the truck why does it shut off

@@RushinTruckin its sad n so sorry you all are treated this way. Seems most companies no matter what business wants 150-1000% out of ya but no give back its a shame 😥 i know im just the little guy (woman) but still, its isnt right
wildspirit 67 exactly, drivers are just $$ making assets to most companies
I only drove for a little over 4 months, worked for 2 different companies. It did not take long through experience and talking to other drivers to realize that the dispatcher got a bonus for every driver that reached 10,000 miles a month. I would run hard for 2 and half or 3 weeks. Then found myself sitting in a truck stop for days on end. I was being told there was no loads. It was amazing how once that 4 week period was over, loads were found and I was driving hard again for 2 and half to 3 weeks. For me it was the worst job I ever had.
Yea I ran for them in 2008 after 4 months I had to go but like this man says all carriers have good and bad but depends on what ur looking for in a company knight just wasn't for me
That collision mitigation system sucks I had on a kw t680 at Navajo Express n it literally go off with nothing to trigger it at all
Yup
Extremely informative! I’ve been looking into Knight and have reached out to 3 recruiters who won’t give me pay info. Thank you very much. Sounds like Swift might be a better option for me.
Laszlo Horvath how much experience do you have and what’s Swift offering?
Rushin' Truckin' looking for a CDL school right now. Starts at 37, 3 cent increase at 3 months, 1 cents increase after 6 mo, 1 cents increase at 1 year. They offer several bonuses that are realistic to obtain. Utuber Stephan Harz talks about the silver, gold and platinum drivers.
Laszlo Horvath gotcha. If you’re located in the eastern half of the country then consider Millis Transfer. Can’t find a much better starter company all around. Great people and great rookie pay. I started there and made $55k my first year in the industry.

What did you find out about the Air Con?.. Are you able to idle to keep the interior bearable?
The trucks are equipped with an auto shut off feature that will cut the engine after about 5 minutes of the outside temp is between 32-70. You can over ride it on SOME, not all, of the trucks. Otherwise, you're stuck with dealing with it. It can def be a pain sometimes

Maybe they've upped their scales. I left last July. The scale is ok in theory but it seemed as though my load were very often just long enough to put me at the lowest cpm. Florida is def one of the lowest paying states for a Trucker

Awesome. Yeah I'm still here until I get one of the good jobs back home. Hopefully before the heartland conversion.
I left cuz of the low pay (36 cpm take home...I’m making 60 cpm take home now)
@danny
How has your experience been so far ? How was training out of tulare ?

I think if you’re a brand new driver, Knight would be a good company. I don’t know much about their training program.
@@RushinTruckin Thank you ,
I appreciate.
Thanks good info.
Very interesting, I’ve got a LOT to learn

Brad Haughton fuel solutions are chosen based on a computer algorithm using your current fuel level and suggested route. The ones that you’re given will have the cheapest fuel at that time

I am sure with those conditions of working you can break your contract and just move to other company that will appreciate you and give you better conditions. Being in that cab with no air? 🤯
If they didn't spend so much extra on all the safety crap they could easily pay for an APU. Or at least let you idle the truck when younsee fit.
Useful... Thx.
Hey Scott, followed you since you began, they don't sound like a very good company to work for, hope down the road you get what you're looking for
Chris Polka they’re ok so far. I have a good driver manager that keeps me running and stays outta my hair so I’m happy with that. Tweak just a few things and I wouldn’t be considering other options. Thanks for following my journey
Why did you leave millis?
Popeye Brew they had me at 62 mph, wanted to be able to run all 48, and be with a carrier that has more Florida freight
Hey man I’m in your same boat I live in Vero Beach! Wanna do team?
Popeye Brew I’ve never been asked but seems like there are companies out there that $70kish can be made each 🤷🏼♂️ I haven’t looked into it really cuz I’m pretty ocd. With the right person, I guess I’d consider it
Rushin' Truckin' we will have to meet somewhere when I get home!
Great video.
Thanks
I’ve been with Knight 10 months, they are pretty good to me but I want more money now. 😂
Where are you from??
Lived in Central FL when I was with Knight. I now live in Maryland
I just got invited to start orientation starting at 56cpm
Congrats. Hopefully they have the loads to keep ya moving. I sat quite a bit with them.
@RushinTruckin I been 17 years in the industry we shall see which opportunities they have in store for me
A lot of rules and restrictions. This time next year you will be with a different better company.
Trucking....... and you thought it was just you and the open road. Not anymore with GPS, ELDs, DriveCam, Public and Private Cameras, Cell Phone video. You are being watched!!!!!!
roy hobbs yup... we sure are!
I think you would be good at leasing
Any particular reason you think that?
@@RushinTruckin you seem to be focused and pay attention to detail. I'm not saying lease with KNIGHT I'm no fan of a sliding payscale but there plenty of companies that will be a better fit
I appreciate that. No, DEF not with Knight!
@@RushinTruckin alright stay up bruh!!
“Cowboy Rush Now.” No Nothing basically amenities will have to be used with the imagination. I HATE the ZONAR system waste of $3500 equipment that Freezes up and breaks down at least once a week and please don’t let it be an over casted day or bad weather😞🤬
Emo Gin its been working fine until today when it didn’t kick me onto the drive line like it should. I didn’t notice for a few hours. Luckily I was able to edit it and didn’t have to go to paper logs
Knight is a great company if you are not on drugs.
They can be for certain people but they weren’t a good fit for me.
Run Florida for us exspress 34 in house
Dollar General?
@@RushinTruckin no decated doctor pepper account
November 14th 2020 making $0.29 per mile driving for Knight Transportation
That’s why I’m not driving for them anymore.
👍
Wall Mart private fleet I think requires 2 years seat time . Your almost to that mark , life changing paychecks. I think it starts close to $90,000 a year gross pay .
Michael Rains I believe it’s 30 months. I DEF have my eye on them when I’m eligible!!!
Look up Trainer James on TH-cam. He drives for walmart out of brooksville, fl. If you have questions he can definitely answer them.
Why would anyone work for a company that works this hard to screw the driver?
That’s why I was only there for 5 months
Wow. Ur telling me I make more a crengland at 45 cents 🧐 but p talk bad bout them. Hmmmm ah well
Desmond p wow, really?? How much exp do you have? My avg gross cpm is 41 with 16 months exp 😐😒
@@RushinTruckin I was making 43 and half cents at 6 months experience in at 14 months now
@@RushinTruckin and c r england has a nice terminal in California. A lot of accounts out there u can make good.
@@RushinTruckin they don't micromanage at all. In fact I never get a call from them unless I'm doing something wrong or they need me to do them a favor. Loads are booked ahead of time and I never sit. I'm on the Georgia Pacific account tho east coast but a lot more jobs everywhere. But ppl talk bad bout them. I think it's the ppl who talk bad dunno what there doing
One more thing to be honest with you. Before I came across your video I was looking at a lot of trucking companies to see where I wanted to go. That's how I can across your video and so far I haven't found a company that's suits me better pay wise and hometime wise than c r england been doing. And the better jobs come after 2 yrs experience. Which by then my pay will have gone up again.
IDK why everyone is giving Knight so much hate. There was nothing in this vid that sounded bad or unreasonable.
Maybe none of you here have been in really bad companies...idk
41 cents a mile at base...thats more than my last job that was 35 cpm. Plus safety bonus...mileage bonus...etc. Fridges in the new trucks....thats becoming a hard thing to find lately. etc.
I didnt hear anything about fighting with FM's to get a load every day. Pulling 2k miles a week if your lucky....horrible trailers that are rotting away...trucks breaking down...fighting about home time...etc.
Is this the best company...hells no far from it....but are they that bad that every comment I see is negative....
I dont see it.
After some of the companies I have been at and some I have looked at recently....this all sounds decent to me...lol.
(especially as I live in Mass where most companies wont even hire out of...lol)
Look into
ABCO out of Tampa
Davis out of starke,fl
D Mosely lawtey,fl
They would be alot better then knight
Or even cypress flatbed in jacksonville,fl
They have some acct. With home depot
Christopher Coleman thanks, I’ll check ‘em out! I talked to cypress both a recruiter and driver. Not interested
leagueofotters the one driver I spoke to said he we told he’d be home every weekend. He claimed that wasn’t the case. They primarily haul building material like lumber and dry wall so they do a lot of tarping. They have a sister company/division called Sun...something. That side claims that 80-90% of their loads are drop, hook, and pre-tarped and also home every weekend 48 cpm. I considered them but the transition would be tough cuz they only pay $500/week during the 3 week training (1 week orientation and securement then 2 weeks on the road with a trainer)
leagueofotters anytime. It gets overwhelming at times with all the options out there!
Please don’t try to find out.
Not sure what you’re referring to
@@RushinTruckin Msg too early skillset individuals
I can't believe you take time to write this ish down and care about it. Most of this is worthless knowledge to me.
Knight don't care about you, why tf do you take this stuff seriously?
Go get a local driving job that pays more and doesn't make you sleep in a smelly, crusty, nasty truck every night.
Cuz I wanted to provide valuable info to those interested in Knight. Was only with them for 5 months. On to much better and making twice as much.
And that's the great thing about YT...don't like or want the info then skip forward or stop watching! I'm sure quite a few of the 14k views were able to get info from this that they haven't been able to find elsewhere.
@@RushinTruckin Here's my thing: I need to get otr experience. Haven't used my cdl in over 15 year's. I'm looking to use one of these companies to basically retrain my ass so I can get a real job. Whoever I work for will hate my guts and I'll hate their's. I won't try and be on time for pick ups or drops. I won't care about bonus money. Hell, a part time McDonald's employee will take home more a month than I will, working for one of these worthless companies. I'm willing to live like a homeless person, and be an indentured servant, for 20,000 miles of otr verifiable experience that I can put on a resume.
I'll probably get in a fist fight with whoever they pair me up with, but that's alright. I've thrown down with driver's in parking lots before!
I hate long haul drivers and the long haul industry as a whole. I'm going to be a very cancerous person the entire time I'm not sitting behind the wheel driving. The driving is the only thing I'll have a good attitude about.
I just want to gauge the kind of people I'll have to deal with before I go out.
Well... at least you know you're a jerk. Best of luck to ya and godspeed to your eventual retrainer
@@RushinTruckin I just resent that I have to do this kind of slave work before I can get a local job that pays good.
I'm just going to take it out on everyone the entire time I'm out there.
DO NOT DO PER DIEM PPL!!!
Why? It’s not for everyone but you can’t make a blanket statement like that cuz it def does benefit some
@@RushinTruckin fair point. Watching your income is already highly advise. If you are on per diem I'd say just make sure you watch it closer.
never trust KNIGHT. corruption defines them.
What corruption can you please give one example
