...I put tubes in 'em all the time..great instructions!..one thing I might add..I always take the tire off every time..not only to check for things that might be poking through the tread, but also to check the rim for welding spatter and slag that might puncture the tube..sometimes, you may have to wire-brush, or in some cases file or grind, burrs from the inside of the rim, so you don't wind up with a punctured tube....
Lol the kid's different characters are always super quirky, funny and he does a great job. I was a big slippers fan(still am) but I think Skip is also really growing on me. Please dont let this be Skip's only appearance. Also would like to see more of Cousin Jaryl as his video was super funny. Im really thankful you guys take your time to do this. Always happy on Sunday to watch a new vid!
I've been on a Taryl Fixes All Binge Watching roll lately. After watching a majority of your videos, I'm starting to realize you're the normal one out of the bunch. lmao Loving the videos!
Same here Mustie1. The rachet straps do work... sometimes, but they tend to put up a fight. I've had good luck with putting the tire in a headlock and squeezing it hard while putting air to it. Also, kicking the tire onto the bead while applying air has work serveral times too. Love your videos by the way. I was just watching them last night. You bring tremendous quality and content to all of your fans. Can't say enough good things about you my friend. Keep up the good work!
It's a good idea to visually and by feel to check the inside of the tire before installing a tube in case there's something sticking in the wall of the tire that may puncture the new tube. Had that happen before. Good video, thanks.
Yes you are right on that and we used to drag a soft rag around inside the tire and it would grab the smallest barb of anything and we could find it easily. All these millennials will never know the joy of working in a gas station and fixing many tires each day all by hand with no motorized machines not even the balancers. I always liked hot patches cause they usually lasted the longest and were usually the best cause they vulcanized the tube.
Iagree, That was SOP when I use to repair tires in the 70's. We would use the back of your hand to search the inside of the tire for penetrants as a first step..
Can you imagine how cool it would be to offer a custom tire patch kit with Taryl's image on the patches? I want Taryl's head rollin' around in my yard!
I had to change the tire of my pushcart, couldnt get the bead to seat, thanks to Taryls video i uses a ratchet strap and finally succeeded. Greetings from good old Germany...
Would be a good idea to check to inside of the rim for sharp edges so it doesn't puncture the tube. Those rims are welded together and they can leave a piece of mig wire sticking out. Ran across that when installing a tube in mine.
Since I stumbled on to your channel, I’ve Subscribed. Your videos are corny but oh so informative... I feel I’m getting a quality education and a new lease on the tools in my garage. What cracks me up “Power Nation TV” has nothing on Recreational and Power Equipment repairs and maintenance.... this is the stuff that is in most people’s garages. Get yourself a Dustless Blaster contract and take this show on the Road! Most of all keep making the videos. Thanks
Man, I absolutely love this!!! I was having a bummed day and you guys made me laugh.... and taught me some things about tires, i just don’t know how you guys make these videos without cracking each other up laughing 😆 so keep it up 👍🏻 people like you make the world a better place
Learned a lot and got a chuckle or two to boot. Looks like you have yourself a fine business and don't need a lot of expensive tools either so thanks for your time and effort on this.
Awesome video. I have dry-rotted tires on both my riding mowers. Now I know what to do when I get tired of airing them up every time I mow. Thanks, Taryl!
Subscribed... Not because I have much trouble with my tractor, but now I know where to go for the fix and the added humor that eases my pissed offness during the tractor issue.. Great channel guys!!
Have watched many of your videos, on this one I learned to look for the line on the tube witch tells you what direction to install the tube, thanks. Also enjoy the humor!😊
Yet Another Excellent Summary Taryl! I've archived it in my "Great Hall of Taryl Wisdom Library". 15:20 - Or, to keep the air valve from slipping back, I take a rubber band, and wrap around around it a bunch of times real tight. Just another idea.
Hi from Nova Scotia, Taryl crazy eyes, lol, thankyou for entertaining and also showing us how to fix a tyre with and without an inner tube, love watching your videos.
Overall very good video but when installing a tube you should check rim for weld splatter and grind any off before installing tube. Weld splatter can sometimes be very pointed and the tube won't last long.
I love this video and come back and watch it sometime just to cheer me up after a bad day~!! That young guy doing the old man is pretty funny too~! Roll on Taryl~!
Great video on complete tire and tube repair. If you are not a repair person after this tire and tube video you can fix your own flats. Also very funny
I got to go to harbor freight now get a tire machine. I’m done putting them on with out 1. Talk about a knuckle buster job. Thanks 🙏 guys have a good 1. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I worked at a tire shop all through high school. I've never seen this type of tire machine. We had the big pneumatic machine for car tires and we always did the lawn tires by hand. That bead squeezer tool is really neat! We would just tie a rope around the tire, stick a bar through the rope, and start spinning the bar till the rope tightened up enough.
I have an old 10-10 machine, and used your tourniquet method to seat a bead. (I don't have one of those inflato-ring bead sealers either). Great minds think alike.
I just did a couple of small cart tire tubes and tried your method of putting some glue on the patch as well as the tube seems like a bit better way to do it. so far so good. I also have a knurled roller that I run over the patch after the install.
Liquid laundry starch can help with leaks like this. The Sta Flo stuff is like $3 for 2 quarts. Break the bead, pour about a cup in for the small tires, maybe 1 3/4 to 2 for the rear tires. It's like the slime stuff, but cheaper. I had tires that would go flat in days, and come off the rim in a week or so. Used the starch and they are holding strong over a month later. Cheap fix, and surprised me. Lots of successful stories about this if you search online. If having problems breaking the bead, put a 2x6 on the edge of the tire, and drive a truck up it slowly... that works for me, when I cant get it by hand, or by using a scissor jack to wedge it against something. Then use ratchet method to reseat bead. Taryl's videos are great for the DIY'ers.
7:00- agreed tubes are best for dry rotted sidewalls, but I've pumped slime in several different instances. Took wheel off rider/lawn trailer/Samurai used for UTV, laid tire horizontal on sidewall, left overnight for slime to leach out sidewall cracks. Couple times had to take wheel off implement and lay horizontal once again overnight because first time didn't seal. Think only had one out of about 7 dry rot "bandaid" slime sidewall repairs that didn't work for me using that procedure.
Great video Taryl and crew. Taught me some new bead seating tricks, NICE. Also like your homemade collet for keeping a valve stem in place, really cool. But shame on you Taryl, for pestering that poor customer with the inner tube phobia, TISK!
Like that you showed several ways to repair tires. I have one on a craftsman rider thats leaking thats tubeless. I really don't like tubes to be honest as have had too many issues so might just use the bead seal if that where its leaking at around the rim. Thank you so much for your expertize.
I have a question my grandfather is an old farmer in a hilly area of wisconsin he has been putting windshield solution in the back tires of his simplicity lawn tractor last year his axle broke off do you think it was from the weight of liquid or defect of the axle? and what precautions should I do when I need to dismount those tires thankyou for your channel and time. hope to hear back
There are many ways to do many things. I use a 5/8" threaded eyebolt in my 5" vise to anchor down tire. I put a Vise~Grips™ on one edge of the wheel so I don't have to chase the tire around when mounting. I always run my hand S l o w l y around the inside of the tire to be sure there are no sharps in the carcass. I put a little air in the tube when mounting to keep it from getting pinched. When patching, after abrading the tube I draw some long crosshairs (+) over the hole so I can centre the patch over the hole. I use a thin dia. pass-link chain around the centre of the tread and twist it tight with a long HD screwdriver to expand the tire at bead areas. If you don't have any 'Bead Sealer', driveway sealer or spray paint will work. That's why I have speckles on the walls! Just the way I do it without purpose built tools. Thanks for the tutorial Taryl.

Loving the videos!
cant count how many times ive wrestled with ratchet straps on tires, im off to ebay for one of those air belts,
Have ever tried the ignite method? Seems to work, not too safe.
I've seen a lot of those videos. Never tried it myself. Have heard of a few blowing up since some ppl put too much fluid in the tire.
102 bucks? Maight as well get the 50 dollar Stark air tank. I think the tank works better anyway.

I just found the TarylFixesAll channel. I've been binge watching all weekend. This one made me laugh out loud.

This was the very first video I’d seen from Taryl and crew. This video is one of the funniest in my humble opinion. Very educational on tires.
Would be a good idea to check to inside of the rim for sharp edges so it doesn't puncture the tube. Those rims are welded together and they can leave a piece of mig wire sticking out. Ran across that when installing a tube in mine.

Overall very good video but when installing a tube you should check rim for weld splatter and grind any off before installing tube. Weld splatter can sometimes be very pointed and the tube won't last long.
