The biggest problem with "wide" boots is that they are all made on the same lasts as the narrower boots, they just add a wee bit more leather/fabric to the upper. For those of us with wide feet (particularly across the metatarsals) this is a real problem. I now have chronic neuromas in both feet from boots that were too narrow at the lasts despite being "wider" boots.
Manufacturers take note!

New balance have a wide foot option which no other companies really have so for me their boots have to be number 1 simply because they have that extra fit option 🤷🏼♂️

brooo whattt???? i never new this!! i always had the wide width new balances when i was a kid
+10000 to New Balance. I just got new pairs, and honestly, I think I've used wrong boots my whole life. I'm in my 40s, and as a kid I was used to "feel the pain" or that it was normal they will fit so tight. And I don't know if is just me, but shoes in general are narrower than they used to be, or my foot is getting weirder. Either way, NB for the win, quality feels right on.
I have very wide flat feet and am currently wearing the Puma Future 1.3s (which are more or less the same as the 1.4). They are in fact quite good for wide feet and I don't have to deal with that awful pinching feeling that you get with some other boots. However, in my opinion if you are used to premium leather boots like I was, they are nowhere near as comfortable as good leather boots such as mizunos, copa mundials, Tiempos, etc..
I know they are being marketed as super soft super comfortable - maybe compared to other knit/non-leather boots they are. This was my first venture into the non-leather world. While there are definite pros and I plan to continue to use them, it's definitely not as comfortable as a premium K leather boot.

Can 100% vouch for the Puma Futur 1.4's. I had a HUGE problem with the issue of wider than normal feet, and I came across the 1.3's and haven't looked back since.
Did you have problems with the sizing? I’ve heard there’s problem with extra space in the toebox
Do you go true to size or do you half size up?
@@svxw so mine was actually a bit weird to be honest with you. I'm a 9 normally but for boots I always go half a size up. For me personally however, I always cut the insole in half, leave the front in which fills the front out nicely but then leaves a more solid fit for the ankle/heel.
If you go up a size normally, I'd go half but then again - can always return and replace them :)
@@natew1288 Im 3 months late, but yes. For me at least I got a 9, my normal size, and there was way to much space, I'm going to try 8 1/2 and 8 later.

One I believe could have made the list is the Adidas Predator Edge.1 , it is by far the widest and perfect fitting boot, wider than your copa mundial or/even on par with the puma future.The width on the soleplate is ideal for those with extra wide feet. Too myself I have extremely wide feet and struggled for many years to find a fitting boot as I had to go up too many sizes for a bigger soleplate, leading to too much space in the toe box. However when I tried on the predator edge.1 a few days ago it is the perfect fit and after field testing An 100% great and ideal boot for those with penguin feet.
Predator edge is absolute dogtrash and feels like you're wearing clay bricks

Will miss the phantom gt when they get replaced
The issue with these is that only the upper stretches a lil more so your foot will fit in ,but you'll still have gap near the toe box and the other main issue is the sole plate isn't wide enough on the fore foot and as the feet is being stretched out of the width of the sole plate , it's very easy to roll your ankle and that's pretty dangerous, I'm wearing the new phantom gx , the fitting is good , but the sole plate is narrow

The original Phantom GT absolutely made me hate the model, it crushed my toes and shreaded my heels, even after breaking them in and changing sizes! The GT 2 may change my mind, but I still see a narrow toe box which will hinder it being in consideration for wide footed people. Tiempos will always be my top boot, legend 8 actually felt better than legend 9 but not by much. Personally, you can't go wrong with a leather boot for wider feet. Looking forward to trying out the Puma Future Z 1.4 soon so very glad to see it on this list! 😁

I tried the GT 2’s after doing some research, but it still did not fit my wide feet. Felt like my feet were getting crushed on the sides. So if you have wide feet I would recommend not choosing the GT 2’s.
If the gt2 had a little bit of a wider toe box they would be perfect for me since my toes are the widest part of my foot. The mid foot for me is super confy for my specific foot.
What he says about the Puma Future Z is very true, the most comfortable for me ever.
Just wanted to mention that for the phantoms you’ll need to break into them for them to feel good. They also break very easily. But overall is a great boot.
Which ways did you find them breaking?
I have a wide feet and I have been using Copa Mundial ever since but I am kinda bored and want to try something new and I am using Nike Premier 3 and it fits very well.. Lots of room, nice fit and atleast it is a change from the Classic Copa Mundial

Mine is only found in Asia, the Asics DS Light...they come in normal and wide versions...extremely comfortable!

The phantoms are good but Puma future are more comfortable, I went up half a size but it depends on the sock you wear also, I got 1 pair of phantom FG and one turf pair also they’re good with a thin sock then with thick grip socks they look tight, a good snug fit but better fit are the Puma future much more comfortable and wide but picked Nike cause of the brand

For me it's the Adidas Nitrocharge, I don't know which type but it's kind of Tribal with black based and orange tribal the one Neuer use but I have it in futsal version. The leather on the front give me more room to wiggle my wide feet!
I know your evaluation considered the maluability and stretch of the upper, but for flat footed people width wide feet, sole plate with is an issues. I have the futures and like them a lot, but I noticed the curled edged on the outside of the studs give me pressure unless I use a custom insole to compensate. Just a consideration.
Yes, I mention it for a few of the boots that the width of the soleplate is essential - hence why the Diadoras and the King Mirai are so good. I’ve not heard of other with stud pressure from the Futures but it does sound annoying 🤨 /Jay

Agree about Puma King BUT new (2022) editions are narrower. I have the normal boot but mainly use the yellow-soled astro version which is extremely comfortable but the new (black-soled) version is just too narrow. Some of the colourful synthetic boots in this video offer little protection to toes and metatarsals

I have very wide feet, and just bought the new Nike mercurial air Mbappe edition academy. And I must say, they fit very well, I’m used to mercurials squeezing my feet too much, but these ones fit perfectly, I would highly recommend for wider feet.

The phantoms are so underrated best shoes I’ve had so far, the grip on the shoe is really good competing to other wide foot shoes, and for someone like me that has a small feet but wide this shoes are perfect I almost have a barefoot sensation.

I would kind of disagree with the Tiempo 9s. I got one my size in centimeters, with a little bit of room left at the tip, but it absolutely murdered my toes feet width-wise. I have a feeling that the soleplate shape narrows down too much in the toebox area, same with most Nike boots.

@@FLAIR2003 unfortunately I haven't tried many recent models. The widest and most comfortable for me was Puma Future 6.1. the current models I have tried Phantom GX, predator accuracy, and they are way too narrow.

It’s so weird that the turf versions of the Phantom GT2 (which usually are Academy and Pro) are a lot narrower than the Elite ones, causing a lot discomfort to people who have wide feet.
Yeah, that is weird. It's probably because of the last used for the Turf models, which might - for some reason - be narrower on the base than the GF13-2 last used on the FG models. /Jay
what is a turf version? is it a boot to play on artificial grass?

Turf grass is shorter and the surface is harder compared to the artificial one which is fluffier and longer.
@@khangnguyenan8620 oh thanks! I also bought the phantom GT2 TF here in brazil; I bought 1 number bigger than I usually wear and it fits well... it's just the grip that is a lot higher than my old regular boot. My ankles get sore for a week after playing.
@@betoharres Yeah the Phantom GT2 TF usually to hurts your heels a lot according to many wearers in my country. Best you can do is taping your heels for minimum damage or play until your heels are numb to the pain.
ive got really wide feet and the puma future is the perfect boot for me.
I disagree with Puma Future Z. I tried to fit on my feet and I found that it is really tight for my typical size. My usual size between US size 10.5 and 11. It's still tight and uncomfortable even I tried Future Z with size 12. I love Future design but I bought Ultra which is best for me.

puma future 1.4's hurt my feet around the midfoot and i couldnt play around 30 mins when i was wearing the cleats. it might just be my feet growing but it just hurt

I went true to size and there was a bit of space between my toes and the shoes so I think if I went a size down it would be a bit tight
When I got these shoes the sides on my feet started hurting and still hurt to this day
I wear adidas copa midal, and initially it was okay, however, it is stretched now and my feet while it fits in the boot its floor is narrower for my foot width. So the sides of my foot are out of the boundaries of the floor if that makes sense and that causes pain.

from what i hear the phantom gt pros (the 2nd tier, elite=1st) are just as good if not better fitting; the upper is supposedly identical but the overall shape is apparently more accommodating, maybe the different soleplate also helps with that. i might try those or puma futures

That’s a pretty big and rare size there for any outlet to have them now. I suggest you go find and contact a reseller and order them (or pre-order since they might not have them now).
Best advice I can give now is wait and be on notice for the new World Cup colorway to come out then the newer ones will be in stock soon compared to previous colors.
