I was in that mall in California on vacay a day before filming started. I played that same machine ( Missile Command ). I had no idea a classic movie was about to be made or I would have stuck around...
For quite a few years there was this different song than Oingi Boingo's Goodbye Goodbye on the basic cable version of Fast Times . The movie studios took their time settling the legal crap for quite a while with the musicians concerning Fast Times
Since I've got just got done watching the movie from a 1983 VHS transfer on Internet Archive. Wonder if Danny Elfman would've done the score for this? Since it could've one of the first movies score he did.
"You're always puttin' the make on my friends, always giving them eyes and the dirty lies 'bout me and you, well I'm through, it's the end of the line for you babe, here's a ticket one way Cincinnati, I'm sendin' you home to your ma and your daddy, so don't try to call me, you'll only be wastin' your time!"
My take is that she was continuing her trend of "dating older guys," as she had been dating a "college guy" during HS; once in college, she had to date a "professor."
Does anyone remember the name of the arcade game in the very last clip of the end credits? At first l thought Space Invaders, but that's not it. It is a missle game, but l cannot remember the name. 80's were great!
It was called “Missile Command” - you used a trackball to aim your defensive weapons to destroy incoming missiles - eventually you get overwhelmed and die but the fun was in prolonging the inevitable!

Always loved this closing credits scene. The excellent Oingo Boingo song matches it perfectly, the time period, the geographic setting.
Danny Elfman.

Heckerling said she based the end credits off of Scorsese’s “Mean Streets” 😉

Porkys, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. and The Breakfast Club are the best movies of the 80’s.

Never understood what it meant by Linda living with her "Abnormal Psych Professor"
My take is that she was continuing her trend of "dating older guys," as she had been dating a "college guy" during HS; once in college, she had to date a "professor."
Danny Elfman.
I'm used to the concert version, the tempo is WAY quicker!

What are the lyrics to this song?
Oh, I know something
About the ways of loving
And I tell you, baby,
That something's wrong
Look to the sky above and the mud below
Something drives me crazy, got to got to get away
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye!
Without a doubt, I'm telling you I'm burnt out
My tank is running on empty for far too long
Woah! I need fuel 'cause I'm getting so low
Something drives me crazy, got to, got to get away
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye!
I need fuel, just the kind you give me
Makes me feel so bad
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye!
I can't believe
I'm still around
It's getting kinda late
Gonna leave
For a change of scenery
I'm going crazy
It's not the same
Since you've been around
I'm crazy, so crazy
You treat me like a dirty clown
You're always kickin' my dog around
I never get nothin' but constant abuse from you
You couldn't care less what I think, or my point of view
You're always puttin' the make on my friends, always giving
Them eyes and the dirty lies 'bout me and you, well I'm
Through, it's the end of the line for you babe, here's a
Ticket one way Cincinnati, I'm sendin' you home to your ma
And your daddy, so don't try to call me, you'll only be wastin' your
Time!
Oh, I know something
About the ways of loving
And I tell you, baby,
That something's wrong
Look to the sky above and the mud below

Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye
Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye!

Awful song choice. Should've used Abide with Me as the song's end credits.
Nice.
