I actually worked with Eric Stoltz which was in this movie and Justine Bateman and they are two of the nicest celebrities I’ve have ever had the pleasure of working with
Fast Times is one of the best movies ever because it is so relatable. We all knew a Spicoli, a Simone, a Hamilton, etc when we were in school. A bit of an older movie for me, I graduated in '94, but still the culture wasn't really that much different to '82 by that time, we still hung out at the mall, went cruising, etc like they do in the movie. Things are definitely different now, but I would bet there are still characters like this in almost every school.
I graduated from my high school in 1984 and our class favorite slogan was, “Hey, bud. Let’s party!” But seriously, Fast Times At Ridgemont High was showed me another world where I spent a lot of my younger days. The mall. Mall life kept me off the streets. I found a refuge that was almost compared to Mark Twain and his adventures on the Mississippi River. There was no telling what you could find or whom you might meet. I remember sneaking into the AMC cinema(with a careful nod of an usher, of course). Working at the mall was another experience. A couple of times, spent the night in the mall( I slept in a seating area next to the security booth). I had a ringside seat into the dramas of teenagers. I’ve seen fights both verbal and physical. I’ve seen happiness and tragedy there. But, now that I am older(57), the mall today doesn’t have that “special” air. The kind that says “I have what you’re looking for.” But the memories live on with me.
The goal is for me and some friends to cover this live at the end of my senior year. I gotta say Goodbye-Goodbye to my hometown, and I don’t think I’ll miss it.
Geoff Williams I wasn't born when this came out but I saw it on TV back in the 90s and thought it was awesome I love the 80s of course I bought the movie, I Mr fargas when he sais, I've just switched to sanka? So have a heart And of course, I hope you had a hell of a piss Arnold
richard askham Lol neither was I. I was born in '87 and I saw this when they showed it on the USA cable channel and every time a teen moment happened (pregnancy, ordering a pizza to the classroom, etc.) my parents ALWAYS went "Now please, don't you get any ideas about this." LMAO
Besides the fact that I worshiped this movie as a soon to be be partying teen ager when this came out, this song kicks ass over the decades! So jammin!

Still love this movie and this song for always. I will never understand that very last part he sings but clearly some things aren't meant to be fully understood in this lifetime.
You couldn't hear this on the basic cable version for many years because Universal didn't have rights to put this on any type of broadcast version for some reason .
I’m a drag king (technically, I’m a Xene, which is the gender-neutral competition category), and I plan to play my trombone to this song for the talent portion of my next competition. This song single-handedly pulled me back into playing my instrument again after 6 years! Thank you for posting it!
Much love for whoever finally posted a proper version of this song! It took me forever to find on YT...
Absolutely... the other one was weird and " off" sounding.
@@1111nolanc the other one is a re-recorded version from 1988
This one has the proper guitar solo. It's short but i love it. I HATE the solo in the other version
I USED 2 Sing every Word!
(NOT Easily!)

I want this played at my funeral but everyone has to sing along and use their best 80's dance moves too.
This song is great, but I would do dead mans party

I want " The End " by the Doors played when I'm lowered into the ground.

Geoff Williams lol, Mr spicoli you've wasted about hours of my time this year and I've come to collect
richard askham I've been thinking about this is Mr. Hand. Shouldn't this be considered "our time?"

Helluva song and what a voice! I'm in my 60s and what high school memories this brings back!
A movie with future Oscar winners
Mostly best actors
I can't all the careers that movie spawned, it's weird
The perfect ending to a crazy movie n even crazier year. Goodbye, Goodbye 🙏 2020 almost over 🤦😇
I never get tired of watching Fast Times. Timeless classic.
STILL one of my favorites ❤
This is one of those movies I shouldn't have been watching on HBO in the mid-1980s as a preteen.
Oh you just like it for the "carrot" scene

It's so strange hearing this type of song from Oingo Boingo but they pull it off amazingly well.
I want this song to play as I lie dying! Not at the memorial but as I am fading away...
The 3 people that gave this thumbs down choke it like Brad Hamilton did in the movie.....
Mr Hand would be vindicated nowdays....everyone IS on drugs
That just made my night infinitely better! 🤣
👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
would make a cool rockabilly song
It does have that foundation to it anyway. It wouldn't be too difficult to purify it into a rockabilly song!
check the 1988 boingo alive version of this track, sounds super rockabilly

Great party band! They appeared in "Back to School"!
They literally invented 3rd wave ska. And Danny Elfman is one of Tim Burton's favorite artists.
Totally OBSESSED with this song, try to play it once/twice a day!!
