I’ve been hyperfixating on this video for weeks I definitely think that if Kristoph saw legally blonde the musical (imagine a production is in town mid 7yg and beanix cajoles him into getting tickets) he would entirely miss that this song is meant to establish Callahan as evil and just be like “this guy gets what lawyering is about, stick it to those idealistic babies lol” and then think it’s a cheap twist when Callahan harasses Elle. Extremely funny argument ensues after the show, and Kristoph plays the “oh and _you_ understand the story so well? [you studied law for a boy]” card at one point (If you think that “not noticing this song establishes him as evil” is too cartoonish of a misinterpretation to ever exist, I actually saw someone espousing it in a comment section of a performance of this song)
Callahan has become my headcanon voice for Kristoph because of this and the other video. And this song makes me able to get in the shoes of his mindset of being an unethical lawyer so well- I kind of want to write something from his pov now… The bit where he evokes Manfred to win the argument with Franziska… oh my god
