So I just read a comment that said that Ted fought for control over his body just to insult Bill and I thought it was amazing but I couldn’t find it again so I’m telling everyone about it right now
It could be that the infected version of the characters have access to the thoughts and feelings of the character they infected. Because the 'infected' target the people they know by doing what they know the person will be weak to. That's why the greenpeace girl didn't work on Paul, because he doesn't like musicals and her whole song was just a whimsical musical number, but she wasn't aware of that, as she didn't know him that well. I much prefer thinking of it like he fought back just to insult Bill though! (looking back at this I realise I basically just wrote an essay lol)
y'all ever just think about how the events of tgwdlm are definitely the already infected versions of all of the characters reliving the events of the "real" people fighting against the aliens. since, y'know, the aliens couldn't have all that information from the opening number if they hadn't lived all that before
Sometimes when I rewatch i remember how Paul was supposed to enter and he didn't. So I thought maybe he actually wasn't taken over, though probably impossible. That he chose to blend in. When they called him in he finally realized he had a cue because normal humans ,from what I see, don't know the song the alien is singing. There's also that maybe when he's suposed to enter is when he's suppose to go into that theater place or some stuff??
@@YellowSnow-w3p paul starts singing showstopping number during inevitable when he wasn't actually there for that number, so he wouldn't know the words unless he was actually infected
Paul not entering during the opening number is easily explained as part of the show the aliens are preforming. It’s to demonstrate paul doesn’t like musicals until he comes around in let it out and inevitable.
My theory is that after the government almost immediately detected them in HF, the aliens decided to stage a play and make people come to them. Think about it.... after you watched the musical, I bet you couldn't get the music out of your head, and I bet you tried showing the musical to others, spreading the infection. The true horror of this musical is that the events are happening to the audience. The apotheosis is upon us ALL.
INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED. I gasped when Paul’s eyes flickered for the first time and laughed when I saw the little yeet at the end. You captured Apotheosis Paul’s crazy eyes perfectly
Theory time! Every musical ( heathers, bmc, deh ) is set in this world after the entire human race has been infected but no even remembers life before singing and it’d just a normal thing now.
It'd be a good theory but musicals already exist in tgwdlm :( but then again you could probably explain that away with the beggining or something if you really stretched :]

3:14 What I find interesting is that, if we consider nornal Paul and Apotheosis Paul as separate, this is a point where it's normal Paul that seems to be giving up. That is, until Apotheosis Paul suggests "But happiness can't come before its fall". Somehow, that sentence seems to give normal Paul back his resolve to destroy the meteor, even if it means sacrificing his own life. Maybe after that point he's just playing along until the right moment to strike. That's my interpretation of it.
this musical does what ive never seen before. it lets the main character "die a hero" but also "live long enough to become the villian" and it will always be my favorite musical.

I like to think this is also the first time Paul can hear the backing music. Since there's never anyone playing music, but we the audience and supposedly the infected can hear it.

“Back off green peace girl”. yes just yes
Woah this is amazing dude- I genuinely got chills during this sksjsk
Honestly, the spotlight concept is amazing. I think it’s awesome how you used space and positioning to convey Paul’s inner conflict and transformation. ♥️♥️
1:34 that voice... and the way he sings... it reminds me of something from my childhood but I cannot place what it is.. or what its from
OKAY BUT LIKE SAME IDK IT REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING BUT I CANT FRICKIN TELL OF WHAT EXACTLY
probably the most famous song by CRASH TEST DUMMIES...?😌 you know... the refrain makes "mmmmh mmmmh mmmmmh" 🎶🎶🎶
I LOVE the Jekyll and Hide energy in this song
Woah, this is amazing! It's kinda rare to see people doing a whole animatic of TGWDLM. And this one does have good qualtity too! I. Love. IT.
“We got what we wanted”
I just remembered what he wanted...
Theoretically his wife is part of the hive too…
I like this whole thing but especially the small 'yeet' with the handgrenade agjsfzjzn
This was so awesome!!!!
You drew Paul sooo good, and the way he descends into madness is depicted so goood!
I loved this😍😁🤩!!!
Paul never destroyed the meteorite, as only thunder is heard, so only the theater had been destroyed.
But nobody noticed.
omg i love this! i love how u showed paul slowly and subtly being affected by the meteor !! the flickering blue eyes were a super nice touch!!
2:01 ooc that looks like he just exploded a building and is acting suprised like "oopsies, did i do that?"
So badly do I want to see TGWDLM as a movie it would be amazing!
this is my first TGWDLM animatic and it's honestly amazing! i liked specially the choreo bits (it shows how much attention you paid to the original song) and Paul's complete expression and posture changes when he's splitting.
If I was face to face with the mother brain of an alien parasite I wouldn't hesitate when it came to pulling the grenade pin
RIP to Paul but I'm different.
(im so sorry)
We all say that. But when the situation comes around...
But would you Really?
I don't think you'd pull the granade. I'm sorry but we always like to pretend we're strong heroes but thats not true. Everyone is afraid of death
but would you actually?
@@kayla4551, You could just throw it and run away, that is what grenades are for.
fun fact: getting this animatic in my recommended list is what got me to watch tgwdlm. i did not know about it beforehand. so thanks!
You captured the whole 2 persona thing perfectly.
This animatic actually made me interested in the play and now *I'm in love with it*
I watched this after almost breaking my leg a week ago to take my mind off of the agonizing pain I was in. This is the story of how I discovered tgwdlm
1:18 yeah that looks so much like paul
FreckleEar WarriorCats
Yeah I don’t mean to brag or anything it does look identical to Jon Matteson doesn’t it
Omg I LOVE the imagery of the blue spotlight!!!! The whole thing is so cool and well done!
I SWEAR TO YOD BEFORE PAUL SINGS IT SOUNDS LIKE ENTRANCE OF JANE DOE FROM RTC
YES YES YES IT DOES-
I LOVE THIS ANIMATION SO MUCH
You did Paul's expressions so fricking well!!!
I get little shop of Horror vibes from this musical.
Watch out Paul...he might kick your head
Congratulations, this is the first animatic I've ever seen for a Starkids production and I adored it.
Keep up the good work!
Ok but I really like the line "but what would I let in if I let it out?"
*JAKKSKFKSKEK*
It was amazing!
I loved when you did the “yeet” when he threw the Grenade
I really think this would make a great movie
