I’m a 2000’s kid from Michigan. Eddie Stubbs was a great DJ who played a wide variety of music for me to listen to. He will be missed. Hopefully the new consultants and DJs will keep his legacy alive.
Eddie was a great announcer, and one of the best fiddle player ever to step on stage. I interviewed him one time and found him to be thoughtful, sincere, and a true gentleman.
Eddie was probably the GOAT as DJ on WSM and will be in the top tier as announcers at the Grande Ole Opry. I rode many miles at night over the road hauling freight listening to such great quotes as "Nothing but the honey right there" I will miss Eddie too!
After all this time I still miss hearing Eddie Stubbs on WSM. I used to listen to him several times per week. The only thing I listen to on WSM since his retirement is Nashville Cowboy Church.

Eddie Stubbs was one of the Johnson Mountain Boys, a really great Bluegrass group. Fantastic Fiddle player.
