My guys, we are BACK with some Kirby LOST BITS! Today we visit the LOST BITS from both Kirby's Adventure for the NES, and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land for the GBA! Hey guys, welcome to LOST BITS! Where I will cover unused and unseen things in various games! In this video we explore Kirby's first major home console appearance: Kirby's Adventure, and then its remake Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land! These games both have a bunch of unused content and a large abundance of cool accessible testing and debug rooms! Hope you enjoy the video! :D

The HAL rooms were intended to be found. They weren’t scrapped

The same thing is done in Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot
This first one is due to a glitch, we weren't supposed to see it. Nowadays the HAL rooms are more common easter eggs, yes, but not this one

What surprises me the most is that Kirby's adventure (which is an absolute BEHEMOTH of a game by NES standards) still has so much cut content left over.

I've never seen anyone claim it was horrible, the worst criticism of it I've seen was that some people preferred the NES orignal.

wait wait wait, coming back to this a couple more years later, I have definitely fought "fast" versions of the mini bosses before in normal gameplay, and that "unused" room at 7:43 absolutely comes up in regular gameplay somewhere, I remember struggling to do it forever when I was a kid... iirc you had to come IN to the room with the rock power, press select to drop it, get the laser enemy and hit the fuse, then drop the laser and re-claim the star that has the hammer power. It's SOMEwhere in the latter half of the game
This vid was rad! There's a shocking lack of Kirby's Adventure ROM documentation so hearing about these nifty memory edit effects is really cool. I hadn't heard about the stronger minibosses before!
I'm currently attempting a rom hack of Kirby's Adventure so that info is particularly handy.
The cannon icon is correctlt used in the 3DS EShop version of the game, and for some reason, the french copies of the NES edition of all things

@5:20 in the final game, there's a warp-star hub where you can teleport to another world directly, but you have to find all the secrets in a given world to be able to access it. It's elusive, it's a special challenge.
I guess it's a hub-world... maybe a venue, an alley? A location for sure, perhaps on, or via, a... ROAD!
And there are stars; Kirby games are full of stars, he rides them through the sky, even!
Maybe this special area, this ethereal realm which connects other disparate locations, needs a name. "Star Roa-" NO, "the road of stars!"

In one of the test rooms for Kirby: NMIDL, there is a Green Scarfy (It is a alternate pallet.)
With the cannon sprite, it can also be found in the 3DS 3d classics series and in the French version.

clearly it was meant to be found since it spells HAL. so there probably are just 2 triggers at the very end and where you stand so the game knows to show the easter egg
You literally have to overload the games sprite memory to bypass the boundary, it's definitely a glitch
that ability to make blocks may have been the inspiration for BoxBoy, another hal game

Supposedly, there is an unused title theme from Kirby's Dream Land in the NES game, but it wasn't in this video.
Edit: It is in the sound test, so it is not unused. I guess it is an easter egg for those who played Kirby's Dream Land.
