Thanks for your post. I enjoy your videos. I, too hate looking at components that you know are faulty not being able to work out what is causing the problem.
that white/nylon plate on the side of the booster, held on with about six phillips head screws with the big nipple-like cap on it holds the booster release mechanism (i think the host referred to it as the "remote valve"). mine was sticking.... meaning that once the brake pedal was pushed they wouldn't release completely. repeated light taps on the brake pedal would release them however. driving my MK2 like that was nerve-wracking to say the least. so after my inspection proved that the release mechanism was indeed broken (it's internals came apart in pieces) i bought entire new remote brake booster for about $500 from SNG Barrett and installed it. all's right with the world now. this happened about a month ago. BTW, just installed two new front doorcard backing boards with new clips, foam upholstery cushioning and vapor barrier. one needed the armrest padding replaced too...good lord! what a tedious job THAT was!
Hi Vic, I'm in the States and have enjoyed your videos. I'm restoring a 1963 MK2 and am looking for confirmation as to where to locate the jack stands in the front and rear of these MK2s. I couldn't find an email address for you, so I'm posting it here and hoping you will reply. Thanks! in advance. :)
Hey greek, thanks for reaching out and glad you are enjoying the videos, there are probably some that show where the jacks go. There are small box sections running across the car (not full width) near each wheel which are the jack points. Here's a web link to an image, not sure if TH-cam will allow it. Good luck with yours, let me know how you get on! Vic images.app.goo.gl/99kAFSZkYf3u1uKM7
@@ajl3320 no sorry, as you probably saw in my other videos I struggled getting them off. One tip I have is to use a hammer to shock the taper as you crank up the puller

Pleased to see more mk2 content.

Interesting video thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
If you’re sure the original booster is okay, can you swap the new master cylinder on to it and see if that improves your brakes?

Hi Vic, I have a MK2, the brakes are giving me a constant headache! ☹️
Sorry to hear that, hopefully my videos have given you some ideas on where to look. Good luck!
@@vicsprojects don’t suppose you have one or have any suggestions where to get hold of a Churchill hub puller do you?

Personally I just knock alternate sides of the tyre with the copper hammer whilst rotating the wheel and pulling outwards on the tyre. Works for me
