Hey Vic! C3_TYP from the gram. Excellent video once again. I loved the diagnosis skills on this as well as the fix. Keep it coming mate, I really enjoy your videos.
And mis/uninformed people say that Lucas is junk. The switch lasted 50 years already in a harsh environment, then you can dismantle, clean, lubricate , reassemble and you are good to go for another 50 years. Try doing that with the junk that has replaced these sort of switches. You can do the same with all the Lucas switches in that car. Lucas always made quality equipment. I would gladly have a Lucas fridge to keep my beer cool.
The diagram I have shows the inhibitor is the first in series and gets the fused live feed. Note that both the dash switch and inhibitor are wired in series and therefore both carry all the current for the solenoid.
I've heard the Overdrive was an amazing thing, until you need to service it. Why bother with an Over Drive now? Why they just add an extra gear in the gear box - but the Over Drive was a Luxury, and it was.

Thanks, glad you're enjoying the videos. Likewise, keep the photos of the C-type coming!

Hi, The signal wire to the Solenoid, is that live?

Good fix. Goes to show these need priodic cleaning.
Yep about every 50 years should do it 😂
🤣

actually they add an extra 4 gears (if you're brave) servicing is not a problem repair and replacing parts that can be frightening
