Just started working on my 03 4.2L, hopefully you upload more videos like this 👍🏾. Should get a head or chest mount for camera to have both hands free. Great video!!!
When I saw your video, I said, "You have GOT to be kidding me!" I just did this on my son's 2002 F-150 *yesterday* morning (3/22/24). His truck is nearly identical to the one in the video, it's an "XL", same color and even has the same aftermarket headlights. Different wheels and no nerf bars. I also installed the exact same Fel-Pro gasket set on his truck! I searched for hours trying to find a good video showing the valve gasket replacement on a 4.2 v6 in this generation of F-150 and only found one and it was pretty bad. This is an excellent video. Thanks for posting even it it was literally a day too late to help me. LOL!
Very informative and interesting video, quick question the manufacturer recommends the 5w-20 oil but what if one has over 200K miles on it, wouldn't be nicer to use 5W-30 for better wear protection without overstressing the oil pump?
Can't really fit a torque wrench in some of the areas. I got them as tight as they were before. you'll feel it. itll come to a stop and then just snug it a little more. just use a quarter inch ratchet so you don't damage anything.

Hey, yeah I've used 5w30 in it before and it ran fine.
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thanks for the heads up
What were the torque specs

Oh, cool. I have to do this. Now I know what the gasket set means by with or without grommets.
Glad to help! Have fun

Thank you for this Video! I’m about to tackle this project, what was the torque specs?
You're welcome. 89 inch pounds (if you can fit a torque wrench in there).
I just don't see how you can do this without getting dirt inside.
"O" What FUN.
It was a thrilling experience
