    I'm seriously considering taking that option. Hokkaido is my destination for the second week in Japan. I love riding overnight ferry boats. It knocks out transportation and a night's lodging in one go. When I go to Scandinavia, I also take the overnight ferry that goes from Finland to Sweden and back. It's also relatively inexpensive. This coming winter is going to be my first time ever in Japan, so I'm excited.

    I always wanted to do a Japanese ferry trip. Just never got around to it. I've watched many hours of Japanese ferries on youtube.

    I've got to do this journey, I love the slower pace of the ferry

      it's definitely our favorite part about not flying--the experience and transportation (and accommodation!)

    It’s been months since I’ve been in Japan and I definitely plan on enjoying a ferry on my next visit instead of working thanks to you both. Also, was hilarious to see Josh also struggle with the tiny treadmill. I’m 6’2” and I always feel like a giant using them over there. I mean, I’m not petite but still 😂.

      We love ferries as forms of travel!! :) haha and yes, that treadmill was challenging and not just because of the running 😂

    What's the website you used to book the ferry? Thanks!

    • @LisaAndJosh
      @LisaAndJosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      we actually weren't able to book through this through a website--we had to ask for help from the hotel we stayed at. they were kind and called to make the reservation for us and we went to the local family mart to pay for the tickets. would recommend enlisting the help of a friend or hotel staff that speaks Japanese and English, if possible :)

    • @LisaAndJosh
      @LisaAndJosh  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi there! we actually were unable to book this over the internet (because we couldn't translate the Japanese website too well.) To book this ferry, we had the kind help of the staff at the hotel we stayed in. They were able to call and reserve the ferry in our names and we went to Family Mart to pay for the tickets.

    It is ok to take video in the public bathroom? If you didn’t get permission from the ferry company, please delete the video.
    I will be very annoyed if everyone started taking video in the public bathroom and upload in TH-cam. If the face was fogged then ok? We, Japanese care about the manner, that’s why it’s comfortable for you too. And being quiet is our beauty. Talking on the phone is prohibited in the train. In that country, do you think it’s ok to take video in the public bathroom? Come on. Please don’t make mess in our country. If nobody around you doing that, that’s probably you are not supposed to do. Please don’t think you are ok, because you are the youtuber.
    Please don’t make us complain about the visitors from other countries.
    Thank you

      Thanks very much for the comment-we completely understand this sentiment. We do ask and take care to ensure to visit only at off hours so that we are the only ones at the time. But we know that’s not always apparent in the video. That being said, in general, this is not something we really film anymore unless we are trying to help others understand something about traveling
