You may not catch fish with every video you make Gareth but you most certainly catch the essence of fishing, particularly sea fishing! That is definitely worth those 13 hours of work you put into your videos. Your increasing number of subscribers are testament to you ‘nailing’ that balance. I can’t be the only one out there who looks forward to your next upload-brilliant!
Thank you Mark, that's nice of you to say. I must admit that I sometimes get a little paranoid when I'm not catching as you kinda feel obligated to get a fish or two, given that it's a fishing video. But I guess that's why I put a large emphasis on the scenery etc, so that the watch is still interesting even if there's no fish about. I'm hoping to upgrade my camera later this year as the one I have now struggles a little in low light. I appreciate your continued support, hopefully I can make plenty more videos this year. I try my best although I've still got a lot to learn yet when it comes to filming and I need to upgrade my camera this year as it struggles in low light. I used to fish battery point across the water from you and all I caught was whiteing year on year so I tried different baits ..... earthworms cod liver oil tablets even garden snails ! And yet more whiteing l never did get a decent cod now I have moved to the middle of the country so watching some one fishing the channel is like therapy !
Ah yes, I remember the days of the thick Whiting shoals on the upper reaches of the Bristol Channel, they seem to be thinner on the ground now. I've fished battery point a few times but that was years ago now, I need to get back over there. Cheers for watching, hopefully more to come soon 👍👍

I went out on boat (charter) today and landed first fish 10 mins after dropping anchor ……….6 hours later, 11 fish caught…..but no more by me!…..like you say “that’s fishing “….

Hi Gareth, like many of your followers I would like to say Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos, have been watching them for some time now and today's video reminded me of the outings I had on a cold and windy fishing sessions and no fish and I still keep on doing it , keep them coming all the best. P.S. At the end of the video I counted 2 rods ,tackle box, camera gear and a tripod light ,now that's commitment to the cause if ever I saw it bravo my man . Again all the best.

Just discovered your channel and it is superb and reminds me of fishing on the Severn when I lived in Cardiff in the early 90's and some good fish, some blanks and many laughs with the lads along the way. Now on the Humber in North Lincs and can never decide which has the most mud the Humber or the Severn but at least they both hold fish and that is all that counts. Keep the videos coming and all the very best with your channel

Nice one Gareth. I've not fished "the mud" for years, If I went that early I would end up casting to soon resulting in getting the lead stuck in the mud as there wasn't enough water to slow it down!

The cold is a killer right on top of the water we sit and wait ,so cold you can snap the ragworm frozen solid but we love it ty gar ,I just subscribed to a AMAZING channel ty mark s cardiff

Thank you Mark. As for the transporter bridge, I think access is closed off at the moment as the flood defence bund is being repaired. Also, I think the tide is a little big for that spot as the rip will be very strong, big tides at the moment. I prefer to fish this area on the smaller to mid range tides 👍👍

As you say, a cracking Flounder a fish like that per session would be great. Around the East Coast at this time of year, we get some good-sized Dabs. I hope to be going sometime in the next fortnight. When tides and public transport come good.

@RiversidewithMe my favourite freshwater episode was Ollies first carp, as it gave me belief that I could catch a big carp as a kid with my Dad, my best salty episode was one of the early Gambia episodes where John caught a massive lemon shark. Absolute magic.
You may not catch fish with every video you make Gareth but you most certainly catch the essence of fishing, particularly sea fishing! That is definitely worth those 13 hours of work you put into your videos. Your increasing number of subscribers are testament to you ‘nailing’ that balance. I can’t be the only one out there who looks forward to your next upload-brilliant!

But I guess that's why I put a large emphasis on the scenery etc, so that the watch is still interesting even if there's no fish about. I used to fish battery point across the water from you and all I caught was whiteing year on year so I tried different baits ..... earthworms cod liver oil tablets even garden snails ! And yet more whiteing l never did get a decent cod now I have moved to the middle of the country so watching some one fishing the channel is like therapy !
Ah yes, I remember the days of the thick Whiting shoals on the upper reaches of the Bristol Channel, they seem to be thinner on the ground now. I've fished battery point a few times but that was years ago now, I need to get back over there. Cheers for watching, hopefully more to come soon 👍👍

I went out on boat (charter) today and landed first fish 10 mins after dropping anchor ……….6 hours later, 11 fish caught…..but no more by me!…..like you say “that’s fishing “….

Hi Gareth, like many of your followers I would like to say Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these videos, have been watching them for some time now and today's video reminded me of the outings I had on a cold and windy fishing sessions and no fish and I still keep on doing it , keep them coming all the best.
P.S. At the end of the video I counted 2 rods ,tackle box, camera gear and a tripod light ,now that's commitment to the cause if ever I saw it bravo my man . Again all the best.

I can't always rely on the fish and so I put an emphasis on the scenery, music etc. For me nowadays it's just nice being out there, being next to the water, although it is nice when a fish comes along ha! Absolutely loving your films, it's great to see how fishing is for most people, the good days and the blanks. I think it's very brave you're not frightened to talk about the highs and lows of life yourself and others go through.

The days of me chasing big fish have long gone, for me now it's more about getting out there and being next to the water for a few hours, this is what I crave the most. Of course, it's great when I do get a nice fish but when it comes to the videos, I put more of an emphasis on the deeper side of angling and the scenery etc. Spring not too far away now and hopefully you'll be out there wetting a line! Just discovered your channel and it is superb and reminds me of fishing on the Severn when I lived in Cardiff in the early 90's and some good fish, some blanks and many laughs with the lads along the way. Now on the Humber in North Lincs and can never decide which has the most mud the Humber or the Severn but at least they both hold fish and that is all that counts. Keep the videos coming and all the very best with your channel

Nice one Gareth. I've not fished "the mud" for years, If I went that early I would end up casting to soon resulting in getting the lead stuck in the mud as there wasn't enough water to slow it down!

Thank you Mark. As for the transporter bridge, I think access is closed off at the moment as the flood defence bund is being repaired. Also, I think the tide is a little big for that spot as the rip will be very strong, big tides at the moment. I prefer to fish this area on the smaller to mid range tides 👍👍

As you say, a cracking Flounder a fish like that per session would be great. Around the East Coast at this time of year, we get some good-sized Dabs. I hope to be going sometime in the next fortnight. When tides and public transport come good.

Another cracking video buddy , loved the intro very relaxing, I don't know what it is but u bring that something different compared to the rest buddy , it's not just fishing , it's more of a life journey too of the good old days , my dad was never much of a fisherman , but he would always take me and for that I was always great full, keep them coming mate 🎣🎣🎣

Haha you're not wrong there Vern. My fishing coat is black and the camera lens doesn't like it but it's ok with the brighter hoody, hence why I left the coat in the box. You've had some great Cod sessions of late, a great run in fairness and so well done for that! Cheers mate, take it easy 👍👍

@RiversidewithMe my favourite freshwater episode was Ollies first carp, as it gave me belief that I could catch a big carp as a kid with my Dad, my best salty episode was one of the early Gambia episodes where John caught a massive lemon shark.
