I don’t but I imagine you could. Gesso helps when you’re painting on porous surfaces like canvas for sure and it helps provide a smoother surface. I did say in one of my videos if I was painting on that handmade paper, I would probably just sew it with a clear gesso but for my sketchbook that I only see I wouldn’t waste the time
