For us (in Mexico), one of the key reasons for getting a top-end Taigun was that the driver and passenger seats have height adjustment. Very happy with the purchase.
I have been an owner of Taigun GT+ for more that 1.5 year now and would say never faced a challenge with infotainment unit and any issue has been with the phone(both Apple/Android) rather in my experience, when it comes to wireless connectivity. As for AC unit, I believe the issue is due to design where the temperature sensor is rather placed in the touch panel itself, rather that being placed on the roof in most of the cars. The cool air settles low with hot air rising up in the cabin, it senses temperatures wrongly and slows down early in auto mode. Put it on manual mode and it works great. Mileage was never a concern, but it behaves as you said and engine start/stop plays a big role; where on hot days when engine doesn't cut out when you stop and the penalty is about 10 percent drop in mileage.
@@vishwasverma2528 Under extreme articulation doors creak a bit but that's common with every vehicle. Regular drives with pothole roads and all, you won't get creaks. @@vishwasverma2528 AC is weak at times due to the way its built. The temperature sensor is on the climate control touch panel. Simple science is hot air rises up and cold air stays down, so in auto mode the sensor being lower sees temperature has reached the setting and slows down the blower, while is still hot at your head level while its cooler at your leg level. This temp sensor should have been at roof level instead like in most of the cars, then AC wouldn't have slowed down early. So to get around this you can do one of the 2 things, either set the temp at the climate control to low and let AC work in auto, or go manual and set the temp and blower speeds yourself. That being said, I feel AC works fine in auto mode 98-99% of the time.

This is a completely honest review.. why i am saying this is coz all the points you mentioned are common for me in my T-Roc as well since it has the same engine. In terms of mileage, i have even got 21 kmpl while cruising steadily on 70 kmph. Amazing vehicles in terms of safety as well.
Service cost will surprise you.. I used to pay about 10 to 12k on my Polo for yearly service and paying around 14 to 16k for T-Roc.. which I believe is quite good for a CBU
If same issue happens in any Indian car there will be 100 youtubers trashing about it.. when its a foreign brand then they'll tone down the language to say "Its ok..only small problem"..hypocrites
It’s actually vice versa. You’ll see other reviewers praising certain Indian automakers a lot more than needed despite those cars having bigger niggles because many of them are paid reviews.
Time is changed if you criticize tata or mahindra then fanboys will call you anti national and this fanboys will make fun of other cars. Even I like Indian cars if you say which India brand I most I will say mahindra.
I use DQ200 with 1.5TDI..(2019 VW) opted for extended warranty till 6 and 7 years..they rectified DQ200 but still considering other parts..its much recommended! Comparatively reliability is better than before too👍
I think the Biggest Challenege the foreign automakers face is during localisation of the product. The find it extrmely challenging to match its foreign product cousin in terms of the material used and the fit and finish and most important the pricing. Classic example is Citroën C3 Aircross. If you watch the videos of the C3Aircross Europe you can easily see the difference in the product. I believe only Hyundai and KIA are managing to get a certain level of premiumness in mass market cars.
I have Taigun 1.0TSI top varient. Pros 1. The performance of vehicle is too good. 2. The habdling of vehicle is also too good. It won't disappoint you. 3. The steering is too smooth to handle. 4. Clutch is is also very smooth. 5. The aeating comfort is good for 4 passenger and fifth ine should be very kean personal or should be a kid. 6. Build quality still better when compare to other vehicle but VW has degraded its quality overall. 7. Decent millege fir me as I don't unwantedly accelarate or apply brakes. I get around 12 to 14 in city and in highway some times i got even 23 at a speed of 80 in cruise control. Around 100kmp speed i get around 18 which is decent. Cons 1. The roof interior on topline is too cheap or even can say worst for the amount we pay. 2. There are many features in instrument cluster doesn't work and even a button in steering wheel is dummy. 3. The software updates quality is poor. It fix one issue but pops up other. So freequent update are necessary to keep it up and working. 4. Driver side window issue is reported by large and they have fixed it in software update. 5. After first software upgrade which fixed my coming home and leaving home feature, my rain sensing wiper did not work. 6. They fixed that in second service software update. 7. There is an option in instrument cluster where up on engaging reverse gear the passenger side mirror should lower and rear wiper should wipe screen once. Both were not writing and only wiper issue they fixed and not the lowering mirror. Their argument is they never declared that in manual so it won't work. If they is the case how they could fix the wiper issue. So be prepared that some of the feature in instrument cluster is only toy feature and might not work. VW responce in this regards is not acceptable. 8. Their tail lamp finishing is too sharp and i got hurt many times with wounds that could take a month to cure. This is true in all vehicle and request you people to check once. They are not ageeing to replace steering even the new sisters have same issue. But not ready to agree their cheap quality product and the case is still pending. 9. The parking breaks are too hard and won't sufficient enough to hold in hilly areas of you are parking. You have to engage with gear for additional support to hold the vehicle. This also they could not fix it. 10. The driver side window should have auto wind up and life on pressing boot key for 3 to 5sec. But it is not working as they don't claim those feature in manual. But the driver side window operates when the ignition switch is off. So i belueve it is done configuration of firmware upgrade could fix it. 11. The AC is quite noisy and it is due to its msnufacturing defect which they can't fix it. 12. The geo fensing gives wrong alarms and at time sir midnight you get alert saying your vehicle left home. 😢. 13. Poor or worst customer care support. Look lije VW does not wish to be in touch with customer on their quarries and when you call customer care and leave any complaint they simply engage you back to reseller and wash their hands. You have to seriously escalate and keep them repeatedly in loop. They hardly respond to your quarries.
Excellent feedback..... I bought 1.5 GT plus 1 year ago, driven 13K Look, performance - good Mileage is ok AC is poor On/Off engine is pathetic Features - poor Suspension is bad, especially within the city.
I own highline MT 1.0 , no issues until now. but mileage is 10kmpl. My most use is in the city that’s why mileage is low i think. It’s panther on highways. Some features could have been added in this variant for the price i.e, led headlamp, keyless entry, push button start, auto headlamp etc.
My kushaq also does same...this taigun kushaq are not meant for city traffic..it will tear our pocket for sure..even if we fill petrol for 1000rs just 25 km drive in city could finish it
I own the Taigun GT PLUS DSG for the past one year driven 9500 kms .Excellent fun to drive car .cannot expect mileage much but driven at speeds of 70 to 80 in highways the max mileage would be around 18 ,the ac could have been quicker to cool in hot conditions it takes time to cool (places like chennai) Suspension is very stiff small cuts in the road feels like a thud ( this is major let go from VW ) Sometimes the gear shifts in city traffic could be a little confusing but now I have learnt how to avoid this being light on the throttle , issue with wipers the right side wipers shudders in continuous usage never got a solution even changing the wiper blades, dismantling the entire wiper system and inspecting the service centre says all Taiguns the driver side wipers shudders ( poor design) And the screen goes blank sometimes now after switching off and on it comes back Overall enjoyed the driving experience in highways and the compactness in the city to park
I have gt from last 5 month ..i driven 3500 km and milege excilent up to 22 km pl on highway speed between 80 to 100 and when speed goes 120 t0 140 milege given 14 to 18 And in city its give 9 to 12 .im vary satiesfied customer ...performance jordar, look jordar, engine so silent ..many time i confuce that it on or off...i always use shell v power fuel for good tuning and good performanc.
There was also a video by someone(I don't remember the guy) who reviewed long term Punch.ev and he was charging the car daily at fast chargers present on fuel stations, for about an hour per charge and he also claimed that the running cost was around 9-10 rupees per km, which was quite informative.
Many people are complaining about clutch burn in 4 digit odo reading in taigun please check and buy. Service center putting blame on customer riding skills for clutch burnout.
don't understand how keeping lower temperature of AC will chill the car faster considering these cars don't have variable speed compressors. The compressor will just switch off when it reaches the target temp.
I have got a 1 lt topline and wanted to do something regarding its performance. U said a lot can be done in the after market. Please do suggest where and what all can be done
Hi sir, we were planning to buy a vw taigun but after reading the reviews over at team bhp written during April of 2023 complaining about unreliableity of the day gearbox frequently failing brake pads and constant break downs we dropped it now we are confused on what car to buy (budget 18 lakhs maximum on road) should we go ahead for the 2024 taigun or should we buy the diesel tata Nexon or the urban cruiser hyryder any advice (automatic)
A very good review.. Thanks 4 that ❤️.. I own 1.5 DSG GT.. Performance vise a fantastic car. But I may give 4/5 for the fuel efficiency factor as the other competitors too lack mileage in their DCT gearbox. I beleive less than Taigun's mileage maybe less than 10. I get 11-12 in city, but I dont think Creta or Seltos gives even double digit in cities 😊
I drove 702kms in 41.5 litres petrol on light foot in delhi city (48kms)+ 12kms Highway NH1. ( My daily route is from Saket south Delhi to Kundli Sonipat, Haryana). I do feel hybrid gives better mileage. But on full tank If i do 800+kms its only a step behind from hybrid vehicle.
Hi, great honest review I have seen so far. My commute to work daily would be from Thane to Dadar, Waiting for 1.5 GT Manual, would that be more fuel efficient? what do think?
I would suggest get the automatic because Thane to Dadar is quite a distance and with Mumbai’s traffic increasing everyday and roads only getting worse, an AT will be a lot convenient and the extra money you spend will be worth it in the longer run
There are issues with the dsg 7 speed gear box which Volkswagen dumps on the batteries if changed. They charge you 1.2 lakhs for a mechatronics issue and gives a warranty for 2 years if you are willing to spend that kind of money every 2 years then buy the car .
What are your thoughts on the absence of LED projectors on a 20lakh+ car. Also the rear having drums on a 150bhp car is comcerning. Also., I don’t see the sense in 55 low profile tyres…Here in India it is just nonsense. Lastly, it seems you have very quietly skimmed over the fact that this is a 4 seater car. A Rs 20-22 lakh car and it can’t seat 3 in the rear in decent (if not excellent) comfort? For how long is VW going to naively keep saying “driver’s car”, “performance car” “German Car” etc and force us to compromise on features and space? Btw I own a Polo 1.0 TSI MT and I have to take care of the exact same things you said…squeaky door cladding, being super careful with tyres, being patient with the AC, being aware of throttle input for maximum mileage/performance balance, etc. I have driven my friend’s Venue as well and I had to face NONE of the above problems at all. It is a pleasantly feature-loaded car, the NA variant is very predictable, tractable and easy-going, its spacious, has a good ride, the AC is powerful, there are no squeaks and the steering is perfect in the city I also own a 12 year old Laura so I know what the Germans are actually capable of, if they stop running after Suzuki and Hyundai
I am confused between buying Sonet 1L DCT AT (costing 14.3 L on road) vs Taigun comfortline MT (costing around 12.8L on road). I know its no comparision but these are the cars fitting my budget of Rs 14.5 L.
All fan Bois needs to hear this out, why would you want to compromise on space, comfort and reliability?? Even if your car is 1 or 2 secs faster in acceleration, I mean what's the point? What are you achieving out of it? You talk about driving pleasure, but you forget about turbo lag in 1.0 tsi. And besides that The maximum speed limit of Indian expressway is 120kmph and if you push beyond that speed, you really want to see yamraj. Indian roads are not race tracks, everywhere there will be some animals, or people coming wrong side or some stupid squids will be there or some unpredictable situations. Anyway, my point is you can have fun in any car, you just have to know how it drives. What really matters is safety, reliability, mileage and resale value (don't tell me resale value doesn't matter and c'mon if you're that rich then you get a Mercedes or BMW) I will appreciate that this car scores full points in terms of safety 🎉🎉😁 but you don't want to compromise on reliability, mileage and resale value. For this reason maruti is the king 👑

Hey Parth, would that be a good idea to buy a Skoda Kushaq 1.0 Ambient automatic (torque converter) model? I’m from Delhi and I have a budget of 15-16 lacs. My heart says that I should go for the 1.5 GT model but is it worth it? I’ll be driving 9 months in the city and will go for a hill trip twice a year. What about Slavia..is it better than Kushaq?
The 1.0 AT is good if your budget is 15-16. If you want to splurge and you think you’ll be able to use all that extra power then only get the 1.5. Personally I like Slavia and Virtus more than Kushaq and Taigun. You drive them back to back and see what you like. All the best

Cheap, cost cutting measures for the Indian customer….these sub standard issues would not be accepted in Europe or the US….WE SHOULD SHUN SUCH PRODUCTS
VW, in order to make money while cost cutting in a lot of corners, gave a joke. 5* safety rating doesn't mean a thing if u constantly have to drive daily with niggles in the windows, body, ac, gearbox.

Time is changed if you criticize tata or mahindra then fanboys will call you anti national and this fanboys will make fun of other cars. Even I like Indian cars if you say which India brand I most I will say mahindra.
9:09 the hack to avoid that is drive in sports mode in traffic , the " shift confusion" will be resolved
Bro, your content is very good and you often have sensible tests that demonstrate what people actually may want to know 👍
I use DQ200 with 1.5TDI..(2019 VW) opted for extended warranty till 6 and 7 years..they rectified DQ200 but still considering other parts..its much recommended!
Yes, there is always a massive difference in the quality of mass market models globally vs in India
I have Taigun 1.0TSI top varient.
Pros
Cons
I am also Taigun GT plus Owner ....your video is 100% Correct.
@sanukb2 do you recommend this car for others ?
Excellent feedback.....
I bought 1.5 GT plus 1 year ago, driven 13K
Look, performance - good
Mileage is ok
AC is poor
On/Off engine is pathetic
Features - poor
Suspension is bad, especially within the city.
Didn't expect this bad performance from vw especially when the same brand owns so many other top of the line other brands
Rohit Sharma doing a Taigun review 😊
I own highline MT 1.0 , no issues until now. but mileage is 10kmpl. My most use is in the city that’s why mileage is low i think. It’s panther on highways. Some features could have been added in this variant for the price i.e, led headlamp, keyless entry, push button start, auto headlamp etc.
My kushaq also does same...this taigun kushaq are not meant for city traffic..it will tear our pocket for sure..even if we fill petrol for 1000rs just 25 km drive in city could finish it
@@Tropicalmallu 😂😂it’s not that too low. Anyway these are fun machines.Mileage varies depends on your driving style and road conditions.

I own the Taigun GT PLUS DSG for the past one year driven 9500 kms .Excellent fun to drive car .cannot expect mileage much but driven at speeds of 70 to 80 in highways the max mileage would be around 18 ,the ac could have been quicker to cool in hot conditions it takes time to cool (places like chennai) Suspension is very stiff small cuts in the road feels like a thud ( this is major let go from VW ) Sometimes the gear shifts in city traffic could be a little confusing but now I have learnt how to avoid this being light on the throttle , issue with wipers the right side wipers shudders in continuous usage never got a solution even changing the wiper blades, dismantling the entire wiper system and inspecting the service centre says all Taiguns the driver side wipers shudders ( poor design)
And the screen goes blank sometimes now after switching off and on it comes back
Overall enjoyed the driving experience in highways and the compactness in the city to park
Smooth and rapid acceleration.......
Drivers delight.
VW👌
I have gt from last 5 month ..i driven 3500 km and milege excilent up to 22 km pl on highway speed between 80 to 100 and when speed goes 120 t0 140 milege given 14 to 18
And in city its give 9 to 12 .im vary satiesfied customer ...performance jordar, look jordar, engine so silent ..many time i confuce that it on or off...i always use shell v power fuel for good tuning and good performanc.
Hi bro
Can you please share your contact no so that i can call you once
Need some feedback about taigun
2:23 the noise is caused by door rubber seals. The root cause of this is a chassis flex due to lack of rigidity.
The door creaks sounded very loud. Surprisingly, I have even heard the same on a BMW X1.
There was also a video by someone(I don't remember the guy) who reviewed long term Punch.ev and he was charging the car daily at fast chargers present on fuel stations, for about an hour per charge and he also claimed that the running cost was around 9-10 rupees per km, which was quite informative.
I’m happy with brezza no issues at all❤
If give Volkswagen drives.. Breza and all they will find breza is out dated.. Compair to tiagun 1.5 .. Top class car Volkswagen tiagun..
Many people are complaining about clutch burn in 4 digit odo reading in taigun please check and buy. Service center putting blame on customer riding skills for clutch burnout.
Had the same noise issue with my Vento. Service centre added some padding somewhere and haven't heard any squeak ever since.
Thanks for sharing it in detail 🙏
How does it perform on off-road
don't understand how keeping lower temperature of AC will chill the car faster considering these cars don't have variable speed compressors.
Hey is the 3 cylinder 999cc engine in Taigun also good?
It is refined and quick, but not sure about the long term reliability
@@pgohil100 Thanks for replying, I'm just not convinced on the DSG gearbox besides I like driving MT cars, like a pure enthusiast even in traffic 😅
What about the safety parameters? 🤔
Is it better than create in terms of driving experience. On features they can not beat create or selfie or Koreans and Japanese.
You forgot to mention safety rating of Creta (3 star)vs Taigun (5 star)
for screen issue factory reset it.
This Apple Carplay issue is coming after recent ios update.. till last few months everything was working flawless
under 10L - best car with best suspension for bad roads?
Brilliant review
The door squeeking issue, is it common with these new mid range VWs
There are issues with the dsg 7 speed gear box which Volkswagen dumps on the batteries if changed. They charge you 1.2 lakhs for a mechatronics issue and gives a warranty for 2 years if you are willing to spend that kind of money every 2 years then buy the car .
I have taigun comfortline its new so there is no any problem and giving mileage of 18.5
Have you modified it? Dash cam, back cam?
@@harshaar5543 no back camera cannot be installed

There isnt any ECU mods for the 1.5 TSI yet. Its out only for the 1.0 TSI.
Sure? Because I have driven someone’s remapped T-Roc in India and it’s essentially the same engine
@@pgohil100they probably send its ECU all the way to Finland because there is an agency their who decode the lock on 1.5 TSI ecu's

It is a pleasantly feature-loaded car, the NA variant is very predictable, tractable and easy-going, its spacious, has a good ride, the AC is powerful, there are no squeaks and the steering is perfect in the city
I also own a 12 year old Laura so I know what the Germans are actually capable of, if they stop running after Suzuki and Hyundai
I am confused between buying Sonet 1L DCT AT (costing 14.3 L on road) vs Taigun comfortline MT (costing around 12.8L on road). I know its no comparision but these are the cars fitting my budget of Rs 14.5 L.
Go for comfortline.. I have it and it's a gem😊
What really matters is safety, reliability, mileage and resale value (don't tell me resale value doesn't matter and c'mon if you're that rich then you get a Mercedes or BMW)
I will appreciate that this car scores full points in terms of safety 🎉🎉😁
but you don't want to compromise on reliability, mileage and resale value.
For this reason maruti is the king 👑
Sai baat hai bro tum Maruti Chalao acchi hai
Man so many words to cope 😂 no one reading your paragraphs of justification for getting a maruti 😭
All this drivel just to promote a maruti.. atleast promote a tata..

From day one irritating noise coming from applying breaks at slow speed and while taking u turn
No solution by dealer and VW
My request is all to please check this problem while buying Tiagun

No one on entire TH-cam doing review of BMW X1 2023 why? Any specific policies, reasons or control of brands over TH-cam? Shocking 😮
BMW doesn't have a car in their media fleet yet.
@MotorBeam may try for test ride cars in their showroom. Ur opinion on product does matter a lot for many of us.

Nice content.
Not sure about carplay, android auto probably has less bugs.
Other 2 issues have already been resolved by VW.
😌I prefer the kushaq butterfly 🦋 grill compared to taigun
If you give a person 1.5Turbo, who would resist himself to drive it like a maruti ? Consider the car only if you can bear the pain of 10km/L mixed.
Drive in a higher gear it can easily run at low rpm. Its not that hard.
this paid can be overcome by EVO NEXGEN TSI CNG systems,,,running cost comes down to half and performance is as good as petrol !
In my car when its running on 2nd gear(DSG) sometime it shudders. Is someone else here who felt the same ?
For a moment i thought this is motorbeam hindi channel
Why do you have separate Hindi channel?
Is this English or Hindi channel?
Some people are saying, it is a bad car. Some people are saying, it is a good car. 😅😅😅😅
It seems this car isn't selling well in its segment. I understand it’s a good vehicle, but why aren’t people buying it? 🤔
VW service fixed door crack issue permanently. Been over a year since it’s fixed, haven’t resurfaced.

No mention of safety anywhere in the video, why so?
We have already spoken about it’s 5 star rating a lot in previous comparos and long term reports on MotorBeam. This is a long term review discussing the car’s day to day behaviour
Skoda has marketed enough about safety and many people who know about the car already know that. No need to mention it again i guess
For 3k Km you said spend 27k rupees.... please confirm that.
Yes, Rs. 9 per km. 9 x 3000 = 27,000/-

ROHIT SHARMA DOING TAIGUN REVIEW 😂
VW, in order to make money while cost cutting in a lot of corners, gave a joke. 5* safety rating doesn't mean a thing if u constantly have to drive daily with niggles in the windows, body, ac, gearbox.
Weak ac, no bonnet insulation makes the front seat very heated during drive on highways
VW cars has the highest crash rating compared to Hyundai cars. How can you miss that?
