    This shaver works well with the (carver blades)
    And I've had mine pitbull gold for 3 years still happy with it.
    I do sharpen my blades monthly on a 1000 whetstone then finishing on a 5000 whetstone. using a circular motion.
    And the shaver works stronger using it pluged in to power for a quicker shave....

    • @DirkWerning

    These are my thoughts after having used this shaver for 2 weeks, note that this is for the gold version and that is the first shaver for the head that I have ever bought. I think the only differences between the platinum version and this, are the shaver case and the 3-razor header adapter.
    - I really thought it would save me more time than using a regular electric shaver not specialized for the head, I still had to give it a quick second pass and even a 3rd, but well at least 10 min of difference is ok I guess, but really expected way more.
    - It is still a big pain in the butt to get cut the hair around the ears, no matter if shaved In the opposite direction of the hair growth, pushed it harder against my head, or positioned just one header in the desired area, is still almost impossible to get those annoying tiny hairs done, which really disappointed me, and I am pretty sure the 3-razor header that comes with the Platinum version wouldn't make any difference either.
    - The battery is very long-lasting indeed, I guess that with time it will naturally decrease the number of times you can use it without having to recharge it.
    - About how close the shave is, I don't really care too much about it, I just wanted to get my hair shaved quickly and without any cuts, which partially delivers, but I noticed that you get a closer shave if you use a foam or shaving gel that works well with the shaver, in my case I used a Nivea Sensitive shaving foam.
    - There are no instructions on how to assemble the shaver and trust me is not that obvious how to put the razors, spinning shafts, and blades together.
    Overall I rate this shaver 7.5, will save you some time but you expect a better performance.
    Btw thank you for putting this amazing review Dirk, really appreciated it!

    • @Impulse_CDL
      @Impulse_CDL 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you rate this shaver a 7.5 which electric head shaver would you rate the highest? Or would this be rated the highest with room for improvements.

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your input.
      I’ll try to respond to each point…
      First off the platinum version does not have a 3 headed shaver mine came with 4 headed.
      Yea it does safe me time and I only do a single pass, sometimes I will do a second with a rinse in between but that is rare for me.
      Yep a little thought to get close around the ears and I think that’s something Skull Shaver even admits too.
      I do use a shaving cream not a gel, I find it works better.
      Nope it’s not as close as a razor for sure but it also never cuts me, so I take that trade off.
      I’ve never used anything different so I can’t compare.
      I did an unboxing video and my initial full video I thought I put it all together and did not find the lack of instructions to be an issue for me anyway 🤷🏼‍♂️.
      As for being a 7.5 I’m sorry to hear that you have that experience. I find it dies save me a little time but for me it was more about not getting cut or worrying about the cuts with a razor so fir me….it’s the right solution.
      Thanks again for you feedback it’s very much appreciated.

    The reason that you get a closer shave after being up for awhile is fluid. Due to lying flat for several hours while sleeping, much of the fluid in your body just moves to, and settles in, your head. This is why we all have a "puffy face" in the morning. This keeps your whiskers from being fully exposed, and thus you shave first thing, but a bit later, as fluids leave the face/head, the whiskers that weren't exposed before, now are exposed, so you feel "sand papery." There is a bunch of info out there about it, including using a cold compress, or some brisk exercise, to get the fluids to drain back downward before shaving.

      As for blade changes. You’re gonna want to change every 3-4months, depending on usage. I shave daily so your mileage may very.

    How long lasting are the blades? I know you just bought a new replacement after 7 months but I am really concerned that the print card in the box states "replace every 2-6months" and I am oh man really? Like 6 months guess its fine, but every 2? I would feel scammed and returb the product if after only 2months I need to replace the blades.

      Great question.
      I shave my head daily and have a full head of hair if I were to let it grow. That being said I think you’re safe to replace the blades approx every 6mo. The blades are about $35-40 so if you do the math is similar to replacing cartridge blades like Dollar Shave Club, etc.

      Thing is that I just got my Pitbull Gold Skull Shaver model delivered today and I am suspecting that it might be broken since I can only see one of the 4 circular shaving heads actually spinning, do they actually spin ? Like looking at them when the shaver is fully assembled together?

      @DirkWerning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adrianmoreno2354 absolutely. I really try to respond to all the comments.
      Yes all 4 should spin. It’s hard to see when the blades are snapped on. You can pop the blade head off and turn the shaver on no problem. You’ll see the 4 ‘shafts’ sticking up. When turned on they all 4 should be spinning. You can then snap the blades back on and they should all be spinning.

    Just some feedback on content creation, format, etc. Im 2 min and 30 seconds in so far. I came here hoping to learn your experience with the product and how well it held up the last 7 momths. So far Ive learned the backstory of your previous video, how well that video did, that you replaced the blade (but not why other than it was time), and now you are launching into how you contacted the product manufacturer. You have lost my attention at this point. I am now going to fast forward to where you start talking about the quality of the product and your experience over 7 months. See what im getting at?

      @@nealriley4042 very true. All the blades are interchangeable. It’s really about accessories and if you want a digital display.
      I bought the top model just to try it out BUT I never use the rinse bucket BUT I do use the travel case. You can buy a lower model and the travel case separate if needed.

    A good way to describe it is its as close to double 0 as you can get without using a razor blade

    • @DirkWerning
      @DirkWerning  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That still doesn’t really describe it to me.

      @@DirkWerning lol how does that not describe it dude. You know what double zero is, with a razor. This gets as close to that as possible without the razor. Pretty clear dude. Mixing up times is confusing. Cuz I get. 5 o'clock shadow a lot faster than others so you know. Everyone's different. Basically as close to double 0 without using the razor. I donno dude
