On stage 17, the Slovenian was able to cut even more time on Jonas Vingegaard, while Remco Evenepoel finally attacked on Superdevoluy, the summit where Richard Carapaz won today ahead of former doped Simon Yates and the insulted Enric Mas. While Pogi is founding Mou, Tomorrow stage 18 where the favorite Mathieu van der Poel will have to prove his form for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

That's what I've been telling all the naysayers for years!! Testing hardly ever catches the dopers! They get found out in other ways like smuggling substances or being told on etc but it's hardly ever testing that catches them!! The most important thing these Drs and doping programs offer is the ability to beat the testing. It's more important the substances themselves!! What good is it to be on "the program" if you're going to test positive!!
My brother is an addict and has been for 20+ years and he has been on court ordered testing for probably ⅔ of that time and he can beat a test within a matter of hours. He's a professional at it. Sad story but it's the best example I can give to prove that dopers of any kind know how to beat the system!!

The Giro had lousy competitors though. One off the easiest wins because there was just no competition. Also if Pog is doped then the Ansjovis is defenitly doped. From ICU to Tour the France and being second. Yeah that's really normal..🙄

He can't help himself to showing off all the capacities his body can't hide, because whatever he is using is itching through his muscles and veins and it is necessary to take it out of his organism. Too much energy trapped inside needs a valve to escape. He doesn't care anymore. It's pretty clear for me, the fans are so blind because almost none of them understands what does it mean to sustain 7 watts/kg for 40 minutes and cross the line line a fresh lettuce.
What does it mean?
In no other sport we're saying to a topstar to put the brakes on his performance. Obviously letting your team ride day in, day out for you is asking a lot. But in the end he's smoking up his rivals.
Obviously if he's guilty of PED that are banned under the UCI it isn't smart to be this dominant. As that also raises suspicion levels. But the trend of like with the Giro. "He needs to let others win as well" that's loserism in ultima forma. I don't think that Cavendish should've gave away any of his victories because he was too dominant. Neither Pogačar.
Am I oblivious to the fact that all the top 10 riders are breaking records on stages? Certainly not, the problem is though, is that also Vingegaard smashes everything. Had Pogačar not been here. Vingegaard would have also broken records that would've come under attention.
If in the tours of the end 90s or 00s anyone that made the lets say top 25 or 50 was on doping. And the top 10 finished within 20-30minutes from the eventual winner. We're now seeing almost the same.
In the era I just described they were seemingly mostly on the HGH, Steroids+EPO golden ticket. Which is a bloody strong combination against not doped riders. That makes finishing within 30minutes over a grand tour not really realistic. Where Lance was eating waffles and other nutrition, having a higher body weight, less good training, heavier bike. The difference there is quite big. But a Pogi being quite fresh after the secon grandtour in 2024 that's shocking.
To be honest. Poggy is actually super sus this year. He improved his climbing performance over 3 days 8-10% in watts over time.
He also improved his best ever performance in watts /kg over 30 minute with 8% over his peak performance prior to this is one year.
Stage 11 pogi would have hung around the point remco or further behind on stage 15, yet he just from stage 14 seemed to have improved as much as the difference from a top 20 rider to the number 1 in 3 days. The mountain specialist and best watts /kg climber hits his most brutal long effort attack that would have dropped him3 minutes any other tour, yet he just sits down puts his cadence up above 100 uphill(a typical sign of bloodboosting, its ineffective unless you have insane hematocrit as you burn on only oxygen vs lactic acid with higher cadence) and shows no sign of having trouble.
It's all the heat training!!
Cmon man, Poggi is sus? Jonas was dead six weeks ago and gave his best performance ever. And the entire Pelton is faster than ever. Dont do what they done to Lance and and pick on him, when they all were. But of course, we've all forgot about the tours when they couldnt award those tours to anyone, cause everyone got popped. But we only remember Armstrongs name..... The top 30 either do, or they don't.

Same observation here. In a clean race pog cannot match the anchovy in long mountain climbs but suddenly he was so strong after stage 11 and making everyone look like amateurs. I lost interest in watching the race

Totally agree with you. The cheaters will eventually get caught but it makes the race boring and a waste of time to watch. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some sophisticated motor doping going on as well. Sorry evolution doesn’t work fast enough for him to be smashing doped world records. On top of that, learn the history of both riders. As juniors both skinny and smaller riders. Tadej is always dominant and has no challenger in his age group while Jonas is a below average rider who constantly gets dropped by his age group. Hm. So who can't match who? Yeah, I thought so.

Pogacar has never taken the mountains like this before. Something is going on. And everyone at the top in Lance's time admitted to doping publicly so how can you penalize Lance without penalizing the others.

Unfortunately I sense a fall from grace coming for Poggy... his attitude has changed... he was a very humble dude... but I'm discerning pride creeping in... Was watching it on spain's tv and the commenting team gasped when pog attacked. They had some ex pro with them for this stage and the way they all reacted was quite telling. If pog keeps doing stuff like this he's going to fall harder than Lance did.
That is what I said about the commentators on Eurosport when they saw his Strade Bianche performance. They literally could not think of what to say. They were lost for words. It happened another time also after Strade Bianche but I forget what race it was. They did not know what to say. The looks on their faces were very telling. Cycling is more popular than ever before and that's because the Americans are now watching the sport. Cycling has just barely bounced back from the Lance era of doping and the UCI does not want to admit it's still happening. They are absolutely 100% complicit!! The amount of money involved with sponsorships and advertising is so much greater than EVER before. The UCI can not afford to take another hit. That's why you see them busting low level riders to make it look like they are doing their part but they won't bust their 2 biggest cash cows!! Pogi alone has brought probably millions of new fans to the sport. It will take a very vigilant journalist to bring either of them down. Don't get me wrong tho, they are not the only 2 doping. If you are top 20 you are on some type of "program". UAE and Visma are just so blatantly obvious about it. They have a secret that has not been revealed YET. I think they have a new substance or cocktail. There's something new going on. These guys are SMASHING the numbers of known dopers and that was when it was the "wild west" of doping and guys were taking massive doses of EPO so micro dosing EPO does not explain these numbers we are seeing. I was told by a rider a few weeks ago that when he got COVID his red cell count skyrocketed. I don't know if it is true but he swears it is. Also, a symptom of too much EPO is similar to cold/flu symptoms. I think that is why we saw so many Visma riders getting "sick" this season. I think they pushed the cocktail too hard and strong. Just my opinion

Things like that show me that the sport has not changed a bit. Even funnier is the part where people try to explain the alien performance with better bikes or better nutrition.
A "Better" Bike does not let you push more watts, the same is for Nutrition but other things do.
I am bit torn apart on this. Listening to some podcasts of former dopers like Jan Ulrich, Erik Zabel and people like Bernhard Eisel or Jens Voigt who are commentating on German TV it's obvious that there has been made progress in terms of nutrition, training and to some extend the bikes and technology. If you consider how they trained over 20/30 years ago it makes those times seem very amateurish compared to the science that sport is today. Eating something during training at that time or simply grabbing the bottle was considered a weakness and stuff like cooling only became a thing during the Amstrong/Ulrich time.
That said, it doesn't explain why a guy like Pogacar improves allmost 10 % from one year to another and why Jonas is pulling his best performances with not enough training and three months after leaving the hospital. I could understand a bit of improvement compared to the late90s early 2000s simply due to all the stuff listed above and the effects being cumulated, but not what we are witnessing this tour from all the top riders. If even Lance Amstrong, Hincapie and Bruyneel think that Pogacar is exposing himself and that he shouldn't do it, it's quite telling. I mean, Jonas and Remco atleast look like they have worked but Tadej looked like he made a walk in the park while speeding up those hills with up to 40 km/h ... it's very comical :)

@@cyclinghighlights I believe they have a very special secret at UAE and Visma that we aren't aware of YET. They are WAY TOO confident. I'm not sure if it's a new substance or cocktail or some method to beat the doping controls but they have something special that is giving them this confidence. It's something new and not detectable in testing or it's a method that is helping them circumvent the doping controls. This can't just be your old school EPO and blood bags ritual. @@user-uc5um3io2j there’s a 2019 published study out of Beijing Sport University that claims it causes the body to produce insane levels of EPO naturally. My guess is that it’s bad science used as a masking agent to provide an excuse for athletes actually doping like the One Nut Wonder, especially since the country it originated from isn’t exactly known for clean athletic competition.
