The salty single g from 6.5k MMR was CLASSIC
As a beginner, the planetary fortress rush was the first build I ever mastered.
In my version, the command center carried 6 SCV's, and the armor upgrade kicked in just as the base was landing.
From there, I'd make turrets and a factory for tanks.
Often, people would base trade from there and end up playing from eachothers starting positions.
Good times!
I wish I were as cool as you. Back in my tryhard days I used to do marine marauder timing attacks for easy wins.
@karenwang313 , I've tried that, and the base rush, in my humble opinion, is much easier.
But that sounds like kind of situation that usually led to a base trade. Since (assuming I'm able to land) I've got a planetary, some turrets, a tank, and SCV's in my opponents base, and they've got Marines and Marauders wiping out every single thing I had it home.
You'd be surprised how often this can turn into a long macro game. lol
The thrill you get while the PF morphes and the joy when it finishes successfully is VERY ENTERTAINING.

What top rated commenter said. This series are bringing me back to SC2. No SC2 content I've seen is better than the planetary rush. When the command center comes flying in over the units while wars are happening underneath it, just makes for brilliant entertainment. This big ass building, slowly drifting towards the center of the base of the opponent. It's just beautiful.

game 1 you should try to look at the replay and the hotkey setup of the player, you can deduce a player most of the time by the way they setup their hotkeys; also game 2 was hillarious, make cannon make zealot and proxy hatch is benign!

Challenge idea 1: mine from only one gas at a time the entire game.
Challenge idea 2: you may not put new SCVs on minerals in a base before there are 6 SCVs on gas in that base.

Once you clear out their natural you should set your planetary down where their base was and start mining from it

How he acknowledged that he would not even be able to land the planetary if there was a single building at the front? The title is meant to say - it is unbelievable that a planetary rush beat a mid level pro. I can assure you he wouldnt feel the same way if he beat the same guy with a run of the mill cheese or macro build.
