Talking about your bull reminded me of a bull we had when I was young. He was a angus cross. We had him for 3 years and NEVER saw him service a cow. My dad and uncle, like your dad, started to get a little concerned so they started to watch him close and to their amazement the bull would move a cow up into the woods to service her, we never did see him do the deal 😜
At the end of the video you were leaning against an old hand crank cream separate. It would be really cool to do a demonstration of how much more work your dairy could be if you had to run all your milk through the separate, and of course it would all have to be put in "cream cans". I remember cranking one as a kid. I couldn't wait till I got big enough to be able to crank the separater. There was something in the handle that slid back and forth as you cranked making this clicking noise. As a young boy on a farm when you could crank fast enough so you didn't hear the clicker in the handle you had achieved a great feat on your way to manhood. You got to separate the cream from the whole milk. Thanks for the memories!
I like how these guys don't brag about the good, and isn't afraid to show the not so good. Very good family farmers. Beautiful farm, with a lot to be proud of.
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to make these videos and sharing your beautiful farm. It always brings back so many wonderful memories. May God bless you with a safe and successful harvest.
I'm in northern NY, we haven't had a frost yet and there's not one predicted any time soon. Grain corn isn't drying down at all, my brother combined some yesterday, still 30 %. Going to take alot of drying this year.
Great video, thank you! Loved the yield calculations, and seeing/hearing everything. That Holstein had some really nice markings, very unusual to my eyes! Were you standing near an old separator at the end? I thought I was seeing the stainless bowl. Some of the most down to earth, enjoyable farming videos. You reach the essence of it, way deeper than just what the machines can do, though those are good aspects too.
Getting excited about the corn picking videos. Love the scenery and seeing the changing seasons. How many loads of silage did it take to fill the silo? Thanks for sharing.
Just got done combining today it was a reduced yield do to the dry weather but was not that bad we can survive another year should have enough steer feed we got some late season rains
Love this! Felt like I was right there walking through the fields and pastures with you! Awesome!!!! I know harvest for you is probably already done so I hope it all went well. Can't wait to see.
Hello Gierok Family Greetings from Eastern Iowa. Our crops down here are average at best with the lack of rain. We did get 1.75 in last week. good for the soil but it chased me out of the field. My neighbor recently lost his brother and they sadly had to sell most of their herd of holsteins. It turns out that they ended up in your area. Be safe this harvest!!
You definitely have some variety in your cow herd. It'll be interesting to see how your corn turns out. Despite the weather, looks really nice. Dairy manure and meadow crop in the rotation definitely adds to the soil tilth and fertility. The crops in our part of Ohio aren't looking bad. A good bit of early planted beans have been cut. Our corn and beans have a ways to go. Need some warm sunny/breezy days to help the dry down.
West Michigan was dry before July. Corn was barely up on July 4th then the rain came and was spread out just right. I am not a farmer but things look good to me.
I'm in southeast Michigan. We only got a half inch between April and the end of June. It's like our corn didn't get planted until the 20th of June. There is still a lot of green and the moisture is still above 30%.
Our trees are turning, but it seems that the dryness here has resulted in less color or more muted color. Enjoyed the trip around the farm. Your cattle are beautiful and that calf is sweet. River kinda matches that one cow in color. Do you have two types of ducks or what causes the color difference. My sister bought a gallon of cider and some freshly made cider doughnuts for us. They were delicious. Hope everyone is doing well.
Surety the best way to check the bushes per acre is to run it through the combine because your not changing the results regardless of how much you count kennels 😂.
I just wish you were up to date on your videos. You have a very good channel and being someone who watches You Tube channels for a long time, the best channels are the ones who are no later than two to three days max. Other than that you content is good. This video was filmed or produced on Sept 24th. It is Oct 18th!
Arron work’s basically two jobs and still makes great content for us to enjoy! As a farmer myself I couldn’t imagine taking the time to make these videos! Kind of a crappy comment busting his chops for being a little behind!
Great video. Absolutely love that cows markings. Almost Shorthornish... 😂😊 Enjoy your weekend.
TY River for washing that cob lol

Aaron and George, thank you. You have no idea what your videos mean to me. Keep them coming, please!

Great to hear the new bull is on the money. Nice new heifer coming in, I can see some dairy shorthorn in her. All the best from Scotland.

West central induana has been pretty dry the last 2 months. Crops dont look to bad. But the pstures or our are pretty short.
How many Tonnes/ acres (hectares 🤣) do you need for grain for the season and do you vary how much you chop for silage depending of yield estimates?
Did y'all ever use any 7H401 Mars Tony in the 80's? Do you have any Snickerdoodle blood in your Swiss? Jw
Is that a Normande cross?

Farmers can math! Don't ever let it slide when someone says "dumb farmer" or some other slight.
RENK IS BETTER ?????
Sold a holstine bull calf 115 pounds for 4dollars a pound
Where are you from?
Iowa is super dry
Why will anyone brings people to notill, if anyone nows that corn need depth. And the yields are higher
