    Hi Michael. Just wanted to say I have been enjoying your channel. This most recent video you mentioned no marina on Lake Ontario will take you. You also mentioned staying in Jersey city. I also work in the film industry. Well what's left of it anyway. I am a cinematographer and I sail a Contessa 32. I bought it during Covid in upper Michigan and sailed it back to NY and into the Erie Canal. I keep her at Safe Harbor in West Haverstraw. I would definitely recommend my marina over Jersey city. We have the 2 largest sections in the Hudson and the sailing is much better then NY Harbor. Also considerably cheaper than Jersey city. Give me a shout when and if you pass through. Safe sailing my friend.

    Hey Michael fellow Canadian here 👋. My husband and I enjoy your channel, however, I am getting a bit frustrated that you keep painting all power boaters with the same brush. We have travelled from Ontario to Key West and onto the Bahamas for a couple of years now. We always slow for boats on anchor, or on a dock. We also radio to request for a slow pass while underway. My husband loved to sail in his younger years, but time and arthritis has taken its toll so today we are limited to power boating. We love being on the water and have respect for all others who are enjoying it with us. Cheers and safe travels.

      @@peteh8077Exactly. I don’t understand how the population’s IQ has fallen to the point where the average person doesn’t understand averages, generalizations or stereotypes. Actually I do understand because of the government’s dysgenic programs, but I digress. (See the documentary on western civilization titled “Idiocracy” for an example) There’s always someone who says “yeah but I’m not like that or I know someone who isn’t like that”. Ok we get it. You are the one in a million that doesn’t fit the stereotype so here’s your virtue points that you’re so desperately seeking. It’s as asinine as someone making the generalization that birds fly and someone else says “O yeah, what about the ostrich?” As to the suggestion in your comment. That would require real virtue and action to solve a problem on their part. Actions that could have backlash. It’s a lot easier to virtue signal how you aren’t part of the problem and attack the person who brought the problem up in the first place. Which is exactly what the commenter did. They essentially blamed the victim and tried to shut him up by making him feel guilty for expressing his feelings. They might as well have said he should shut up about the problem and not express his feelings because they’re invalid simply because they don’t do it.

      @@sailingEV888Never apologize for making accurate generalizations and stereotypes of any kind. Any sane person worth interacting with will understand there’s always exceptions to the rule. Anyone who claims to be the one in a million that doesn’t fit the stereotype is attempting one of 2 things. Either they are trying to glorify themselves or they are trying to diminish your argument with the one exception to the rule. Either way they have absolutely no interest in solving real problems in society. There cannot be any good faith debates about real issues with sophists who always bring up the exception to the rule instead of focusing on the problem at large.

    I’m looking into full time boat living earlier than planned due to the unlivable conditions our global overlords have forced us into. From the outrageous cost of living, stagnant slave wages, ugly ass architecture, and having my tax dollars constantly fund war instead of investing in our country’s future. I’m absolutely over it all. Make no mistake, the globalist are on their way out! I love these authentic looks into that life, thank you so much for sharing and many blessings to you on your journey ❤.

      I think you and I would get along very well.. I agree. The problem is.. be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. From my experience, what we are seeing in the west stays in the west. Never forget There are places that you would think are the gardens of eden. I've seen some of them. Once you know they are there, you can never unsee them. It is possible, and I intend to prove it. To sail beyond the baths of all the western stars 🌟 like a mirror sailing out between the galaxies, stars above and below. Sailing and life is about a fleeting moment where one's contentment is set adrift in a sea of love and intention. These videos are but a hatchet for societies intellectual thicket... Thank you for your though provoking comment I sure would like to chat with you more on your thoughts..

    15:28 Older boats is subjective, given that insurance says old boats are 20 years. Second off purchasing a boat is the cheapest part, as the older boats require more work and replacement of systems. They also used materials that are end of life, Island packets prior to 2000ish have issue with their chainplates being 304 ss. Even you have had issues with things on your boat and had a through hull break I believe. The newer designs of monohulls are faster and more comfortable than boats from the 60s 70s, Idylle 1150 and of course Cyclades line, two boats that are on TH-cam sailed by youtubers the later having sailed around the world ala La Vagabond. There are tons of production boats that are in the 2000 that are amazing sailboats that are faster handle with better rigging and sail plans that perform better in light wind then 50-year-old boats. 15:41 Yeah, the government caught on that people were moving on to boats and used the worst examples to justify the legislation you saw down in Florida, even you felt unwanted, and it was echoed by other long-time cruisers that said the same thing.

Would you keep the same boat? Also - Why can't you just pull your boat out and put it on the hard with a heater on? Just curious.

    I disagree with you that the size of the boat matters but we've discussed this before. You ignore the contessa 26, cape dory 25 and 28, nor'sea 27 etc etc. But that's fine, we can disagree (even though you're wrong lol). But I did unsubscribe, I will not support a xenophobe and I could have dealt with you being an alt right sailor but I don't want to listen to politics when watching sailing videos. Best of luck.

      This is my first time watching the channel and I missed any xenophobic remarks in this episode. He did, however, lament the huge increases in cost of living which are harming the middle class and the poor caused by excessive central bank money printing and excessive government spending. You are taking the proper course of action though imo. You are unsubscribing because you disagree with his opinions/worldview rather than trying to take his channel down.

      @@WTHenry2023 16:00 in, he starts talking about governments letting people in and hoping "they'll be a change in November "..referring to Trump and his anti-immigrant stance. It's a xenophobic position. Which is a weird belief for a sailor to have considering we're often in other people's countries...as he is right now. But whatever, that's what he wants to talk about it's fine. It's his channel. But he is trying to grow his channel and I'm just letting him know that people don't want politics in their sailing channels. It drives people away to other channels. I could have just left and said nothing. But sailor to sailor I'd thought I'd give him that heads up. I would have left if he was talking about other divisive political things as well, not just Trump. Although I do think he's a complete knob.

      @WTHenry2023 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@PyeGuySailing I agree that I prefer not to hear politics on any channels other than political channels. As you said, this will help him grow his channel. HOWEVER, there is a context to his comments and the context is obvious. He is addressing the exploding housing costs in this context. It is not debatable that mass migration greatly increases demand for housing and therefore via market forces of supply/demand greatly increases the prices of housing. The millennials and Gen Z can't afford to buy to buy a house due to the runup in housing prices. Economic realities and hardships are not xenophobic. Fair winds and following seas.

    • @PyeGuySailing
      @PyeGuySailing 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @WTHenry2023 housing is a complicated issue and can't be solely blamed on immigration. Affordability has mostly to do with corporate greed during a time of restricted supply lines. A few videos ago he was riding around in a car with a guy in a Maga hat and aluding to his political stance and last episode he started in on a rant about the democrats but wisely edited it but edited poorly so you could tell. His political beliefs are pretty clear and when you support a guy who's calling for mass deportations and blaming immigrants for affordability problems it's pretty clear what the context is. But regardless I wish him well. I just won't be following. And you take care as well.
