An Updated/slightly optimized route for research/kamura point farming in the lava caverns originally by @gaijinhunter : • MHRise | 35-50k Kamura...
This route collects 20-21 research point nodes in just barely under 5 minutes. If a faster route gets found I'll pin a comment to it.
You also passively will be gaining Zenny at the same rate, which is a nice added bonus. There are faster Zenny farms available though.

Not all of the skills are relevant for this, but would be a good farming build in general.

Thanks for the update.
Some tips:
- In Sunbreak after you use the wirebug and do the air jump, you can now transition into a wallrun. Before you had to wirebug into the wall without the extra jump.
- Evade Extender is realy helpful for the the extra mobility.... and lots of fun :)
- Wirebug whisperer for more zooming too.
- Eat for Dango Calculator with Skewer Buff (+40% extra Points). With a Ticket it is a 100% proc chance. You can get up to 70k per run that way. Keep in mind that it is a special dango, so you need to be lucky to get both area and dango buff at the same time. I advice not to force it. Instead plan ahead and keep an eye out when your points start to run dry soon.
- If you need Tickets for Dango Buff: Buy Raw Meat at the Trader for points and "motley mix" it at the canteen. Enjoy your "unlimited" tickets.
- In the options: Controls -> "Button Hold Settings": Set it to "Short" for faster mounting.
- In some areas it is easy to start wallrunning by accident e.g. next to a node. Instead of pressing a button to jump, just let go of your analog stick/movement key to drop down near wall.

Also keep in mind that Mr T is on PC. For my switch fans don't try the fourth mode unless the run goes absolutely perfect. Sub camp switching takes longer for us that it does PC which does lose about a second. I didn't fully test it. It doesnt mean you can't try but it's a bigger risk than on pc

Very nice! If im getting unlucky with upsurges though i just go to subcamp 1 and collect bigger bismuth chunks. It might be somewhat slower but theyre worth 3K per delivery which is still great imo. Theres only one spot where large monsters might be sometimes but if youre quick enough they wont notice you, other than that its pretty much a straight line mostly consisting of small ledges
if you wirebug after hopping the few higher ledges before you hit the ground it wont break =) just wait a couple seconds or so and then do it and youre safe
just 3 of these is 9K! Get more than that and youre in the 10,000s which is pretty sweet imo. Not the fastest but if youre not getting as many upsurges as usual its a good alternative. I need secondary options like this since i spam cluster bomb so it was a good find for me
for everyone here, you dont aactually have to leave the mission, everything respawns endlessly so just keep farming till youre sure you got enough (i get 20K points each run, i spent the past 2 hours farming and now i wont have to farm for like the next couple months, holy hell. also yes i used "the kamura" for extra 40% points)
I run a similar build and add evade extender on it. The longer jump distance helps speed things up

On a perfect 10min run I usually get 180k points with the dango buff.
Can confirm the route can be done with two palicos.

Great guide but I'd love it if you broke it down step by step with specific directions of where to aim instead of commentating a single segment run because it is quite annoying to have to constantly rewind the video to find "where the heck did he go?" over and over.
I'm just quitting out when I mess up so I never lose the locale. At least I'm not losing the locale and still get points
Love the video, but next time you really should slow down and go step by step.
Rather than showing us a perfect run first try just do a slow run, so people can easily follow, then after showing us a slow run so we know where we are going then show us what a perfect run looks like.

Not sure that it wouldn't be faster to just run premium wyvern eggs in the jungle. Hop on dog, run through the cave to the nest, grab egg, haul it back, 2800 research points. Hop on dog and repeat
Wouldn't that be taking like 1.5 minutes per delivery at best? And when you have the unique items upsurge, each of the mining nodes are giving you about that many research points, only taking a handful of seconds in between
