- We paid 48 baht each for a train from Bangkok to Ban Khlong Luek Border near Poipet Cambodia. From there we had to decide a way to get to Siem Reap.
Our Journey took only 5.5 hours and it was better than we thought it would be, the seats were comfier than we originally anticipated and although there was no air con it wasn't too hot - thanks to the large windows! For only £1.13 this is definitely an amazing for travellers, as well as locals to get around Thailand (there was soooo many stops) and to get all the way to the border without the cost of flying. We had some great views on this train and it was very interesting for us to see parts of Thailand and a complete different side of Thailand we have never seen before.
The border police ( workers ) will try and get 35 dollars off you but make sure you only pay 30 as it will go in there pockets.
30 dollars pay on ARRIVAL
37 dollars pay on e visa so you save 7 dollars and have no hassle, you just need a passport photo, your passport and 30 dollars in cash
Flying to Cambodia was really expensive but we managed to make it to Siem Reap for £6 from Bangkok!!
