“I didn’t see that coming”. That pretty much sums up Season 4. I applaud the writers for not taking the predictable route with Terry Silver. Initially, I was skeptical of Kenny, but his character only gets better and Dallas Young who plays him gives a great performance. This season is going to blow you away and leave you hungering for Season 5.
It's kind of funny that you say that because I found this season to be the most predictable of all of them. I still enjoy it, but it's probably my least favorite season.
I love how Terry talks about being on cocaine back then, because it would perfectly fit the times and also explain why he was so crazy and over the top. Also, how can this show just keep bringing back these old actors who haven't done much since and still have them be so good?
I love how seamlessly all these old characters fit into the ongoing story without feeling forced or shoehorned in just for the sake of it. Nostalgia done right and executed perfectly.
Terry Silver is a man of extreme personalities exactly like Eli. Terry probably carried great shame over his weakness as a prisoner in Vietnam; back when he needed Kreese to save him. Like Hawk, he became addicted to conflict once he discovered a source of strength and confidence. The cocaine was just the fuel, but his fury and aggression were the kiln.

My favorite part of this show is that it retroactively improves, and sometimes changes, the past movies (Silver's story for example). The writing is SO GOOD that if you watch the show; the movies become better!
Like they did with Ali. Going from she leaving Daniel for a college guy in Karate Kid Part II to in Cobra Kai Season 3 that Daniel jumped to conclusions and that she even said she warned him the brakes on his car was going bad and hoped he didn't put the blame on her to Mr. Miyagi, which her did throw her under the bus.

If Zabka doesn’t have a thriving acting career after this Series ends then the World definitely is a simulation! He is amazing with both drama and comedy. So good. I do believe that Kreese sees Johnny as his own son and Robbie as his grandson. Kreese is just a hard man who doesn’t know how to express his love with anything but control and dominance. Kreese’s mother’s suicide and his experience in Vietnam has traumatized him to the point of needing constant control and turmoil. He’s fought his entire life. He doesn’t know how to be otherwise. Delving into Kreese’s story has given him so many layers, and I love that this show does this for these characters.
I'm glad Kreese will get redemption, and I'm 100% convinced it will be through taking in Tory and her brother. Credit to my daughter for predicting it way before I realized it. Without spoilers, the aunt and Kreese's behavior at the tourney clinched it for me.
Loved this show for three seasons, but I really think it hit a new level this season. Glad to share this with TBR and Samantha and everyone else that is enjoying this. Thanks for all the great reactions!
That reveal with Kenny’s brother was done so well. The set up definitely paid off. I was disappointed cause I wanted Kenny to train with Daniel but that wouldn’t work with Anthony. I could see Kenny having an arc similar to Demetri.

The cool thing about Kenny is that he *didn't* just become a bully overnight with a clichéd corruption arc. He only ever strikes out at the same kid who carried on a campaign of torment against him. He was only provoked at the end by Anthony's half-assed, and probably fake, apology. At the end of Season 4, I'd argue that Kenny is still further up the karma ladder than Anthony. Here's hoping his big bro comes around to course correct in Season 5. I kinda want to see how the Cobras react to a natural fighter who is more than willing to fight dirty.

Considering how long Thomas Ian Griffith had been away from acting and it had been 3 1/2 decades since Karate Kid III, it was impressive how he didn't miss a beat with the character.

If I could, I would take that hardworking, loyal dedication of Daniel and the adorable hard-charging devil-may-care sweetness of Johnny and create the perfect man.
We know from karate kid 3 that Silver can be devastatingly cruel, sadistic and maniacal, even more so than Kreese ever was in the movies so it's very interesting to see his character now and how they're dynamic will progress this season. Kenny is an instant hit as a new character and I'm very much looking forward to you guys seeing his story this season. Great to see TBR still reacting pretty much how the writers want you to regarding Tory but love Samantha's more balanced view reminding TBR that although we'd love to see Tory get her ass kicked for everything she's done especially messing with the Miyagi do dojo/shrine, she's very much getting her ass kicked in all other aspects of her life.
I can't wait for you guys to get to the finale! In my opinion it's the best finale of the show! Probably my favorite season so far! You guys should react to Stranger Things once you're done with Cobra Kai!

Karate Kid 3 is such a ridiculous movie and Terry Silver such a ridiculous character I wasn't sure how they were going to integrate him. Just chalking it up to the 80's and cocaine was brilliant, especially editing in all the sniffs and snorts.
I too was surprised Terry didn't join Kreese right away and even brought up how ridiculous he was going after a teenager, Daniel in Part III and also brought up he was on cocaine. I loved how they introduced Kenny and then him getting bullied and humiliated on video and causing him to go to his brother who is the same person who picked on Robby in juvie and is now sending Kenny to Robby and therefore, Cobra Kai. LaPusso my have created a monster and I don't feel sorry for him one damn bit.
Except luckily his son isn't as dumb as him and doesn't look to kreese as a father figure lol. He mad it very clear that he knew what type of person kreese was and that he didn't trust him but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Tory's definitely the one who sees Kreese as a father figure. But in all honesty, he actually IS to her. He knows about her home life and cares. He looks out for her. He even risked (likely) her wrath by telling Amanda about her struggles. I highly doubt he ever even knew Sid's name, but he absolutely sees himself in Tory and wants her to avoid the struggles he faced.
I'm not sure if it's meant to be taken this way, but since he's essentially repeating Tori's words, it seems like he's being affected (not quite manipulated) by her.

I loved this Season! Regarding Anthony LaRusso, I felt bad for the kid. It seemed in these first couple of episodes that he was trying to toe the line between Bully and Being Bullied. His "friends" are the worst and easily turn on him, just like the beginning of High School for Sam with her Snotty friends making fun of Aiesha. That curly-haired kid is a great actor because I really wanted to smack him! ("Dude, you just got Facial-ed!" [that guy])....I can't wait for you both to see the rest of the Season!

Every shot with Robby, you start noticing they're trying to make Tanner look taller than he is. I didn't notice til my daughter pointed it out and pissed her cousin off.
What does it matter? He's only a tad bit shorter than Jacob and roughly the same height as Peyton. All shows will use angles to show people at different heights, it's all part of cinematography. But in the end what does it really matter and why would it piss anyone off?
@@jenelav399 Exactly. In one future episode (4x08) Tory uses really high heels to create a huge difference in the height against Sam. Peyton List confirmed that the writers wanted that huge moment where Sam has to look up to Tory. Sometimes this is done on purpose.
I know a lot of people liked season 3. Personally i did as well, but i still think it's the weakest. But an overwhelming majority of people i've talked to/read comments by think season 4 is the best so far and i can only agree. Enjoy the ride ! The 4th season, I have to admit, took a small nose dive. Not too much, just a little as in the 3rd season was my favorite. There are still good stuff here. They actually should have split the days, not the group. One day, Daniel teaches, the next Johnny. And yes, guess who is back.

While the actor is younger, the character of Terry Silver is about the same age as Kreese (who are their early 70s). Daniel is 50 in season 4 (while Ralph Macchio was 59 when they filmed).

If I could, I would take that hardworking, loyal dedication of Daniel and the adorable hard-charging devil-may-care sweetness of Johnny and create the perfect man.
We know from karate kid 3 that Silver can be devastatingly cruel, sadistic and maniacal, even more so than Kreese ever was in the movies so it's very interesting to see his character now and how they're dynamic will progress this season. Kenny is an instant hit as a new character and I'm very much looking forward to you guys seeing his story this season. Great to see TBR still reacting pretty much how the writers want you to regarding Tory but love Samantha's more balanced view reminding TBR that although we'd love to see Tory get her ass kicked for everything she's done especially messing with the Miyagi do dojo/shrine, she's very much getting her ass kicked in all other aspects of her life.

Pop Tarts. The name should say it all. These were originally designed for toasters: get it? 'pop' tarts. They pop up from the toaster when they're cooked. I haven't had a pop tart in decades, but I guess these days they get heated in a microwave or something?
Karate Kid 3 is such a ridiculous movie and Terry Silver such a ridiculous character I wasn't sure how they were going to integrate him. Just chalking it up to the 80's and cocaine was brilliant, especially editing in all the sniffs and snorts.

I too was surprised Terry didn't join Kreese right away and even brought up how ridiculous he was going after a teenager, Daniel in Part III and also brought up he was on cocaine.
I loved how they introduced Kenny and then him getting bullied and humiliated on video and causing him to go to his brother who is the same person who picked on Robby in juvie and is now sending Kenny to Robby and therefore, Cobra Kai. LaPusso my have created a monster and I don't feel sorry for him one damn bit.
It has to be so painful to Johnny watching his son make the same mistake he made, looking to Kreese as the father figure he never had.
Except luckily his son isn't as dumb as him and doesn't look to kreese as a father figure lol. He mad it very clear that he knew what type of person kreese was and that he didn't trust him but the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Tory's definitely the one who sees Kreese as a father figure. But in all honesty, he actually IS to her. He knows about her home life and cares. He looks out for her. He even risked (likely) her wrath by telling Amanda about her struggles. I highly doubt he ever even knew Sid's name, but he absolutely sees himself in Tory and wants her to avoid the struggles he faced.

All martial arts is rooted in hard work doing everyday items and finding ways to utilize your body in a defensive manner so anything as simple as painting a house you have to use your brain to figure out how can I utilize that motion as a form of defense.... I loved this Season! Regarding Anthony LaRusso, I felt bad for the kid. It seemed in these first couple of episodes that he was trying to toe the line between Bully and Being Bullied. His "friends" are the worst and easily turn on him, just like the beginning of High School for Sam with her Snotty friends making fun of Aiesha. That curly-haired kid is a great actor because I really wanted to smack him! ("Dude, you just got Facial-ed!" [that guy])....I can't wait for you both to see the rest of the Season!

Every shot with Robby, you start noticing they're trying to make Tanner look taller than he is. I didn't notice til my daughter pointed it out and pissed her cousin off.
What does it matter? He's only a tad bit shorter than Jacob and roughly the same height as Peyton. All shows will use angles to show people at different heights, it's all part of cinematography. But in the end what does it really matter and why would it piss anyone off?
@@jenelav399 Exactly. In one future episode (4x08) Tory uses really high heels to create a huge difference in the height against Sam. Peyton List confirmed that the writers wanted that huge moment where Sam has to look up to Tory. Sometimes this is done on purpose.

I know a lot of people liked season 3. Personally i did as well, but i still think it's the weakest. But an overwhelming majority of people i've talked to/read comments by think season 4 is the best so far and i can only agree. Enjoy the ride ! Also, let me sleep for a month, so i can just binge the next 4 reaction videos :D
The 4th season, I have to admit, took a small nose dive. Not too much, just a little as in the 3rd season was my favorite. There are still good stuff here. They actually should have split the days, not the group. One day, Daniel teaches, the next Johnny. And yes, guess who is back.
