I couldn’t wait for you two to start this series. Your reaction was great, quite entertaining. Doing two episodes together is the way to go. The pacing of your video was perfect. First learn balance.
This show is so fun. I love how the show balances callouts and flashbacks to the movies while keeping the modern story moving. Also love how the show flips things... like Miguel could be Daniel, new kid, getting bullied and wanting to learn how to defend himself. It makes you think, what if Daniel went to Cobra Kai that first time and Johnny and friends weren't there... he might have studied under Kreese and became a complete douche. But will Johnny be a better teacher than Kreese? Can Miguel be what Daniel turned out to be in the movies? Remember, as Miyagi said; there's no bad student, only a bad teacher. You guys are gonna love where all of this goes. I'm stoked you're doing the series. And 2 episodes per session is great. I'd be happy if you did 4 at a time, lol.
The best thing about this show is how un PC it is while at the same time incorporating the times we now live in. Any other writers would have made a complete mess of it.
I first watched “Cobra Kai” on TH-cam Red back in 2018. I loved it. If you love it now, you’re only going to love it more. There will be moments where you laugh so hard it hurts and you cry so hard it hurts. This series should be the model for any continuation of a successful franchise. Disney should have taken notes. “Cobra Kai” has so many surprises that you are definitely in for one hell of a ride. After Season 4, you’ll be so ready for Season 5.
KK-1 came out during my High School and formative years. Yeah, Johnny is so awesome, so stuck in the past. The car, the music, the movies he watches, the culture. Its actually quite common for many bullies - their best years were in High School and 30 years later nothing has ever come close, so they live in the past with delusions of grandeur. So far ep1/2 Johnny is funny AF, but not worth rooting for atm - he's basically using Miguel for slave labor (without the Miagi Method of simultaneously teaching karate). But the early episodes are to re-introduce the characters and set the plot - no time yet for character development. But keep watching, it just gets better and better each episode.
7:21 ..in case you didn't know Mike Barnes says the same thing to Daniel in part 3 All Valley tournament...Look and listen for alot of callbacks and Easter eggs in this series
The movie Johnnie is watching in Episide 1 is Iron Eagle. Recommended as a MUST watch. Basically it's a first attempt at Airial Combat filming involving jet's. Came out same year as Top Gun 1986
So excited to see this pop up! I love this show, especially the flashbacks to the movies. I had to go back and rewatch the movies since I hadn't watched them in decades, glad you guys have the movies fresh in your minds!
Y'know when I was a kid and the TV guide was still a thing, couldn't just look stuff up with your phone or stream what you wanted when you wanted, made me giddy when shows and movies I wanted to watch approached. Lost that sensation for years, but with this channel it's back, the anticipation and the giddyness. So just wanted to say *Thank You* guys.

So glad to see you guys finally reacting to Cobra Kai. Been biting my nails in anticipation ever since you finished with Karate Kid 3. This is a such a great series. Gets better with every episode and season. Enjoy the ride.
William Zabka and Ralph Macchio are like best friends in real life and it's hilarious. The two of them have randomly shown up together in various shows and stuff replaying their roles. Ralph Macchio was in Dancing in the Stars so of course William Zabka randomly shows up pretending to be a host just to roast him, lol.
It hasn't happened yet but the writers say The Next Karate Kid is also canon to the series. So you guys should watch that movie too. It stars a young Hillary Swank.
I’m so happy you’re watching this. My wife and I loved it. It’s just sooo good. We grew up with the movies and she actually calls her little brother Daniel San! You’ll laugh, a lot, you’ll cry and you’ll be bereft when it ends. We finished it a few weeks ago and we’re impatiently waiting for S5. It goes beyond it’s so cheesy it’s good. It’s really well written and knows exactly what it’s doing.
The movie John is watching is "Iron Eagle". One funny thing about it is that the actor who plays Tommy (Rob Garrison), one of the Cobra Kai, the guy who yelled "get him a body bag", also has a role in "Iron Eagle", pretty much being a bully again. Sadly he passed away in 2019 being only 59 years.
Your channel is my favorite reaction for Cobra Kai. The show does a great job embracing nostalgia with the OG characters while making me engaged with the new generation too. I haphazardly learned about Cobra Kai around 2018 when the theater showed a preview of the 1st episode before a screening of The Karate Kid. Been hooked ever since. The 2 shows per episode format is OK - I would prefer 1 per episode but this works since you and your wife are playing catch-up. Perhaps dedicate 1 per episode once you reach Season 4 (or 5 later this year) when it’s back in the cultural zeitgeist again.
This entire series, seeing the progression of the characters and the evolution of Johnny and Daniel are amazing and it’s brilliant writing. There are so many flashbacks and appearances of past characters throughout. You will love the direction this series takes you.
I am absolutely amazed out how great a job they have been doing on this series. And to answer the question now, any character you see in this series from the movies is played by the original actor. That alone shows how much they care about this series, and I truly appreciate it.
The movie Johnny was watching when LaRusso's commercial interrupted was Iron Eagle. You guys should check it out. And Bloodsport to really get into Johnny's mindset.
Damn, one blink and two episodes are gone like this! I'm happy that you're doing this and I'm sure you gonna love it. The first season was released on TH-cam Red back in the days by the way.
This really is a great show, and it picks up brilliantly from the movies. One of my favourite aspects is that we FINALLY learn more about Johnny than what we got in the first movie. Like, we got three whole movies worth of character building for Daniel and hardly ANYTHING about Johnny in the first one, where this time we get a lot more about him. It's not really surprising that they play so well off each other when you consider that Zabka and Macchio have been friends since the first movie and have kept in contact
If you remember in the 3rd movie, Daniel's mom was taking care of his uncle Louie. The guy in the dealership who knew about the fight is Daniel's cousin, Louie Jr.
You guys are definately my favorite Movie Reactors so it's a lot of fun seeing your reactions to Cobra Kai from the beginning onward!! I just got into this series last year and Bing Watched to the current season.. It really is a great series and you two are in for a lot of pleasant surprises.. and some that are not so pleasant but still very interesting and fun.
One of the greatest journeys you will take so glad u both finally started the Cobra Kai series...can't wait to see your journey from Seasons 1-4. Glad to rewatch with you both! Enjoy the series!
My wife and I love this show. Cobra Kai should be the blue print on how to continue a franchise. Respect the classic characters and story and build up new characters without tearing down the original ones. I'm still amazed at how great this show is so far (we're on Season 2).
I think 99% of people, when they first heard about this show, thought the same as me - what a horrible idea, just an obvious cash grab that will cheaply try and play on our nostalgia. I've never been happier to be proven wrong, the show is amazing! And it only gets better!
The show can be cheesy at times... but it is so self-aware it works. The show knows exactly what it is and leans into it. William Zabka's performance is great and is a huge part of how it works. Also, without spoiling much...having shifting points of view and alliances illustrates there isn't just bad and good, just various shades of grey.
@@michaeljacyna1973 that’s the way I’ve described it to people who have asked me about it. It’s a very self aware show and that’s a wonderful strength of it.
I just ran through all the current seasons in like 2 days, I wanted to watch it when it first came out but kind of ended up sleeping on it, I'm super glad to have had like 4 seasons straight to watch in one go though!
So glad you liked the first 2 episodes as much as you did. Your analysis was SPOT ON. No spoilers, but you will see more of the Johnny funny moments as he gets more "modern," and the other thing is that the character development of both the new cast and the old is very rich in this show. There are grey areas explored and there will be shifts and they are all great. Johnny and Daniel will go through their ups and downs, and it is one heck of a ride. And you will see some other familiar faces at some point, but I won't say who or when or what season, and I hope no one else spoils it. Also, Mr. Myagi while not in this show physically, is VERY MUCH in it spiritually. It's amazing how the writers pull that off. Enjoy and don't wait too long to continue on. ;)
You guys are cute together, honestly when I first heard about this I didn't know what to make out of it, but now I really enjoy them and I think you'll definitely get into the series as well. Brings back so many memories of the Karate Kid. 🙂
To be fair to Kyler Daniel did serve sushi and just assume that he enjoyed it. it is one of those foods that a lot of people either love or hate. When Daniel said let’s have him over he should’ve also said does he like sushi. Did Daniel just assume because Kyler was Asian?
This is how I took it as well... kinda sprinkles in some more nuanced signs that Daniel has become a bit more arrogant in his success and philosophies.

Absolutely agree with the two-episodes format. Is so interesting see your reactions. Good job !

SO glad you4re starting this series. cant wait till you both see how far the story goes
The writers of the series are so awesome it gets better and better each episode and each season
You're in for a treat. If someone had told me 5 years ago that the "bully" from Karate Kid Part 1 would be one of my favorite characters of all time I would have called them a liar.
Lol. You have come to like Daniel? He’s still the bully. 😁
Can’t wait to start this series with you two. I have not seen it.
I have to say you both are one of my favorite channels on TH-cam and I truly enjoy your content. You are both so relatable and just seem like truly nice people. Thank you again for all your content. It always makes my day.
They pay attention and have good conversations too.
You should watch it alone first cause reaction channels dont show the full eps
I want to encourage you to watch the episodes ahead of these reactions so you get the full experience of the show and not just the cliff’s notes. The show is honestly great, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
I wish I could and thank you for the recommendation to watch it before I watch the reaction, but I don’t have NETFLIX.
@@Capt620 You can watch the first 2 episodes on youtube(Cobra Kai is originally a youtube series):

That instrumental when he starts cobra kai back when talking to miguel was used for the Bulls 98 championship season.
Cobra Kai really aced how to bring all these characters back, superb series!
I couldn’t wait for you two to start this series. Your reaction was great, quite entertaining. Doing two episodes together is the way to go. The pacing of your video was perfect. First learn balance.
"They're kids..."
"They're idiots that messed with someone they didn't know."
About the movie you were asking about at 9:08, see the comment & discussion from Christina Doxstader
below.
17:47 “Oh that’s the shit guy” *FORESHADOWING INTENSIFIES*
I ADORE Johnny. He's absolutely hilarious and it's such a clever idea to take who you think are the villain and hero and switch them. Team Cobra Kai!
Oh man I wish you guys could watch all the episodes right now and upload them right now lol but patience is needed lol I'm glad you guys are enjoying it, cobra Kai is very well done, great writing every episode leaves you wanting to watch the next one as quickly as possible lol looking forward to the rest of your reactions 😁
They completely knocked this out of the park. Cobra Kai is a HOME RUN! Great series!
I've been resistant to start a new reaction to this series, but since it's so fresh in your mind and you're doing two at a time (and based on your editing, you're doing a good job keeping the best parts in the video), AND you guys have a great sense of humor. I'm in.. and subscribed now too.
So glad to see you guys finally reacting to Cobra Kai. Been biting my nails in anticipation ever since you finished with Karate Kid 3. This is a such a great series. Gets better with every episode and season. Enjoy the ride.
I'm 41 years old. If a group of teens attacked me, you damn right I'd fight back. Legality be damned. Self-defense.
Glad you guys are starting with this show now. Loved this first upload and looking forward to the rest! Enjoy Cobra Kai 💪🏻💪🏻
So great you guys watching this show ! I loved every season of it !
Johnny is such a great character, I laughed so much 😂
It made me so happy to see you guys getting into this series; you're in for such a fun ride!!!!
This show had no business being as great as it is, but it is unbelievably good. The writing is just brilliant.
14:37 the funny thing is that, after Johnny throws his asthma inhaler at the wall, Miguel doesn't need it for another 4 seasons.
The movie that Johnny watched is „Iron Eagle“ and the song at the end of episode 1 is „Sirius“ by Alan Parsons Project.
It hasn't happened yet but the writers say The Next Karate Kid is also canon to the series. So you guys should watch that movie too. It stars a young Hillary Swank.
there's also a possibility that Hilary Swank could appear on the show
I’m so happy you’re watching this.
I hope these come out quickly. This is the only series on TH-cam that has me excited. You guys are in for a ride and I can’t wait for you to see it.
That movie Johnny is watching is Iron Eagle btw, def worth checking out!
Damn, one blink and two episodes are gone like this! I'm happy that you're doing this and I'm sure you gonna love it. The first season was released on TH-cam Red back in the days by the way.
Thank you for this and the two in one format was definitely the correct choice!
Facts
"I feel like this is all one big misunderstanding." A better synopsis for the entire series could not have been written! AND BY GAWD IT WORKS! 😂
The movie Johnny was watching on the TV was called IRON EAGLE
The music that starts at 13:12 where Samantha says "I like the music", That song is
Sirius - Chicago Bulls Theme Song
by The Alan Parsons Project
Man, I don't know why I took so long to watch this. This is gold. I'm off to binge the rest of this show...
"Greatest journeys"? Omg, reeelax. It's a kid show.
@@SuperScottCrawford TF it is. I'm 42 and love it.
The Movie Johnny was watching when you asked "Wonder what movie he's watching " (9:10 mark ) is Iron Eagle.
I love how the show, reminds everyone just how badass Johnny is.
YOOO im so hyped for you guys to react to this
Johnny's Stepfather Sid is renowned actor " Ed Asner" . He passed away in real life after season 2.
Enjoy and don't wait too long to continue on. ;)
Reacting to 2 Episodes in each Video is perfect! You Guys are doing this the right way, by watching Cobra Kai right after watching the Movies!
Great first reaction to a great series! My favorite characters are Dimitri and Eli throughout the entire series.
You guys are cute together, honestly when I first heard about this I didn't know what to make out of it, but now I really enjoy them and I think you'll definitely get into the series as well. Brings back so many memories of the Karate Kid. 🙂
Can’t wait to rewatch the series with you guys!!
