"It's been nearly 20 years since the Chaos Sorcerer got an update" *Me who won a competition, and got the first one in the country (1 week before release)* How.... how dare you remind me I am old?
@@AnotherDayMiniatures Love your kitbash can I ask a request, when the mini is finished and rotating can you add more minutes to the video a bit more its kind of short and the video just ends I just want to see the mini details a bit more..
"a little interesting"😄Yeaaaah. In hindsight, I think the suggestion someone mentioned about reattaching the back plate there would have worked better. I'm glad the end result was decent.
Great job, that paint scheme looks sick! Green stuff has been pretty tricky to learn for me too, but one thing I’ve found is to do any larger structural type chunks first, keeping it set in from the final surface and even super gluing the parts to the soft green stuff for strength, then letting it all cure fully before adding the finer details to a more rigid skeleton-blob
Appreciate the compliment :D I get really bad hand shakes at times, usually from too much coffee and not enough sleep. The next video about the Terminator Ork is a bit rough in that sense. I found when painting such fine details the best thing is to make sure your hands are connected and touching that way your shakes are almost nullified.
Looks sick, i wouldve removed the crux on his left shoulder pad and his right knee as they're loyalist symbols. Also librarians wield special melee weapons called Force Weapons, these weapons allow them to channel their abilities better and channel their powers through the weapon when attacking. So outside ur lore of ur guys axe retaining souls you've actually just without realising came up with how they already work in lore
It's one of the better made models so it aged really well, it does show when you put them next to the new terminators and the top of his head basically doesn't reach their neck line . Cheers!
Pro tip for long sculpting sessions: keeping your blob of putty in the freezer preserves it longer. Just take out a bit as you need it and, after a couple seconds of kneading, is as fresh as when you froze it
Looks great. Only thing I don't get it the Crux Terminatus being left intact. But the kitbash and green stuff work is amazing. And the painting is nice too.
Thanks :D The whole look was meant to show his lack of care toward typical Chaos adornments. If you're referring to how the Crux is meant to repel warp, it's something interesting I read a while ago, many of them don't actually contain a piece of the Emperor's armor and are there purely for traditional reasons.
Do you ever plan doing some alternate Heresy themed conversions ( either the Dornian Heresy or Roboutian Heresy depending on which one you find more interesting)?
its a good kitbash, but that butt panel is a bit too off for me personally. Not sure if cutting it off would have been the right choice though. Great work though, love the concept!
Great work! Green Stuff is definitely a tricky one to learn the best quantities with. No matter how much I think I need, its always too much xD Creatively, I feel you missed an opportunity to add a tail, or collection tentacles from under the raised rear plate armour. As it is now, it somewhat looks weird just floating there.
Thanks! The tail idea does sound super interesting. I can't think of any kits I have that would match it, but something with a spike on the end would be cool.
That is very cool looking, I like the look of your blue and yellow nmm. How do you think it would have turned out if you had done a florescent purple over a white prime as your shadow layer?
Thanks! I think it could have worked really well, but I would have also needed to shift the color of the skin to something different to keep a similar contrast.
Should have removed the crux terminatus from the shoulder and the knee as in the lore those parts contain fragments of the emperors very own armor within them and a true chaos marine would never allow himself to be associated with the corpse upon the golden throne and also his patron God would have him remove it as well or turned into a corpse himself especially by the changer of ways
The main idea was that the 'Flesh' was pushing all the armor out, but In hindsight cutting off and re-attaching the back flap probably would have looked smoother.
your green stuff work was great, have you ever gotten your hands on the newer chaos possessed? i feel like those bits would be a great trove if you move forward with more of these creations
Thanks 😄! I've been trying to get them for a while, but they seem to be in the never ending sold out limbo for me. It does have a lot of parts, not to mention the amazing models.
I removed them on my Iron Warrior Terminator in the past, but since the theme for this guy was the corruption of the original Librarian, I kept a lot of those details. I will say, removing the one on the knee is easy, but the shoulder would be really hard because of the runes that go under it.
@@AnotherDayMiniatures Minor suggestion, to sell the "flesh" a little more, why not use green stuff to make some veins on the pecs, you could have then given them an unearthly glow/ hue to sell that "something is wrong under the shell" look of the corruption. Also remember that most, if not all marines have had extensive augmentations to their bodies, so some tech protruding through the flesh wouldn't be out of place. I also think that possibly adding a glow to the skull's eyes, be it for the souls in the weapons, or the cursed warp magic in the sorcerer's eyes? I love the model, but it's doesn't seem... idk, adorned enough for Tzeentch, the back/ upper torso could use some mutation, perhaps the sprouting of a wing starting out or something. Maybe some glow from the lava rock base onto his legs, or other way around to show how the magic glow of the armour overpowers the natural lighting of the lava. These aren't critiques, but possibly additions to make it more... idk... detailed? It just seems a little empty, but if you were going for something akin a hulking sorcerer, you definitely sold it! Great work and keep it up, I have fun watching you work.
@@jasonrouse8215 Nah, all the suggestions are great, mate. I'll try to remember to add the glow to the skull's eyes, I think that would be a great addition. @@AnotherDayMiniatures Pete the Wargamer uses a lot of cork for his bases usually, and 10/10 times they look pretty awesome. Are you looking to do a basic base for tabletop play, or do you want to make something epic for display purposes? If it's the latter, then you could go towards something like a diorama, where the Sorc is sucking the life out of a bisected Space marine, and perhaps use wire/ green stuff to create the "soul trail" as it's being absorbed? I'd love to give the hobby a try, but it's waaaaay too expensive for me, even if I were to get 3rd party knockoffs / paints. At most I can give suggestions on what I think might work. I think the Tzeentch soulstealer motif would be an epic CSM chapter, moving away from the Rubrick Marines and more into the "Hades & the river Styx" themed setup. This Sorc is already around a perfect fit for the idea. The teal energy from the souls, the purple hue of the mutated flesh, and the menacing red glow of the Eyes that see through your soul. @jasonrouse8215 Cheers! Yeah, I usually aim for tabletop ready bases, but sometimes I redo them to be a bit more diorama like. I was thinking of creating an add-on where you can place the base inside it, allowing the model to be playable. I did consider expanding the color scheme into something larger, but I would need to figure out the logistics of painting it faster while maintaining the look.
