MQ Haven't seen many of your elevator videos lately. Hope your still able to make them. I'm electro/mechanically inclined so find your elevator videos very interesting.
😊🇬🇧🇬🇧👍🏻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 the funny thing is on my old route I had only one or two hydros out of all the lifts I looked after one interesting things is in London in the 1930 they had water hydraulic lifts 🛗
Same with me, still had a Hydro working in Manchester even though water pressure had been dropped when I was an apprentice Fascinating but scarey piece of kit, they had a massive water tank fitted in the basement with a motor running the pressure on demand, it used a Gripper rope through the car, pull on direction for up and the other for down, speed seemed uncontrolled to me, the more you pulled the rope the speed would rise, easy running 2 mps, it had bobbins on the rope from memory at terminal floors to decel if you forgot, 19 Portland Street next to the Building centre. Again on Batho Taylors in Manchester, they had the water hydro cylinders running horizontally under the textile work benches on the ground floor, wish I'd taken photos, these weren't in use but still there, as the company I worked for did most of the conversions, established in 1911, made every component back then, F.M Bell & Co Ltd. Regards Russ..
Been doing commercial HVAC for 10 years looking to transition into the elevator union . Awesome videos by the way.
