It sometimes feels like if something is bad for them, they absolutely HAVE to make it bad for everyone else, and I’m sick of the community doing this.
Often times they’ll just make it bad for others even if nothing bad happened to them. It’s dumb
Damn right
A Game should not feel like a chore to play, I love dead by daylight with its enduring atmosphere and character designs however a moment of power goes to peoples head and they will exploit it.
This. I don’t know any other multiplayer game where it feels physically exhausting to play it for extended periods of time. Even if you play with friends, five matches has you feeling tired and exhausted, you just want to play something else.
It's important to recognize that what one person considers a tryhard sweatfest is just normal gameplay to others.
People would be a lot happier with the game if they just played it without putting expectations on how everyone else should play.
Keep your expectations realistic; sometimes you will do everything right and still lose because it's DBD.
Dealing with this community sucks. I get messages from soar losers and Winners. I love the game hate the community. I got Gen rushed like no business in this event.
I message when I lose or win saying gg and have a great night or day. I don't think that's toxic 😊
@@DreamLabyrinthit isn't, and there's really no way possible that it could be considered toxic, BUT there are still miserable people in this community that will misconstrue it as toxic and resent you for it. Sad reality
@@dkres82 most likely. It just floors me how people in general turn something intended to be goodwill, into something negative.
@magical571 Yeah, I have had negative feedback to a gg before as well. It didn't feel nice. Yeah, you all are right, though it's just sad how this community can be 😞
This event unironically proves the argument that a casual mode wouldn't fix anything in DBD. People are going to sweat -- and they'll do it no matter where you place them. One of the BIGGEST things the community says that pisses me off every time is 'Stop playing to win, just play to have fun!' because they're somehow physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally unable to comprehend that for a lot of people, winning is how they have fun.
Like, it doesn't matter how 'fun' the game mode is, or how casual; there are a LOT of people out there who have fun by winning the game, and they will always play in a way that makes it fun for them. Unfortunately I think it does also lead to at least some of the toxicity, because when you really want to win, you take losses REALLY hard.
I had a friend who, whenever we played a game and I was on a winning streak, he'd get progressively more pissy and toxic towards me as the game went on. Even though he was sitting right next to me, he still accused me of somehow cheating, and when he finally won and broke my streak? He'd throw the controller down, jump to his feet, and parade around the house screaming how he was the champ and I suck, all the while refusing to play any further matches. It was insufferable, and I think the DBD community has the same mindset that he did.
If you win, you're a smug prick about it. If you lose, it's because the other side was somehow playing dirty. It might not be as bad as it seems, because we do remember the negative shit more than the positive, but regardless it really can make it infuriating to deal with the community sometimes.
The thing also is what is considering toxic, for some just playing a certain killer or a surviver with a certain build is toxic for them.
Or MAYBE, improve the core gameplay so people arent in this sweat cycle, the anni only amplified how bad the core design game is
@@Philscooper chnaging the core design will not change multiplayer toxicity or people sweating. that is not how people work. people would be toxic regardless because it is multiplayer. it is just how a lot of people act simple because they are behind a screen.
i don't disagree the gameplay could use some real changes to make it better. It wouldn;t end toxicity tho or ending sweat cycles.
You know, when I take a break and get back into the game after a while, I tell myself "i sure hope it's better now". However, this event was the final straw. I logged onto the game for the first time in months for the anniversary event. My first match went pretty well for my standards, 2 kills and 9 hooks. No camping, no tunneling, because I don't do that. Endgame chat then happened. Immediatly got told to jump off of a bridge, and they didn't even state why they got so pissed. So yeah, I'll still play dbd, cuz I like it and theres usually more chill games for me, but I just have to accept that this community is one of the worst out there
That’s low key funny they couldn’t take a loss. Also makes me wonder how much hate messages I got from PC players that I couldn’t see because I’m on console.
I cannot seem to let survivors get away. Even if i two hook everyone else and let them go, one person always seems to decide, "I was hooked once, time to feed the Entity". And that's if the first person does not quit on hook and more follow their lead. Also, I got yelled at for putting Lightborn on Wesker. My reasoning. He's wearing sunglasses. Never see so many "######" messages in my life. Folks need to lighten up.
I’ve been recently getting a lot of rage quitters when playing the anniversary event.
It has been
My record so far is having someone quit 30 seconds into the match. I was playing killer and heard them open a chest, hit them once, and they disconnected.
@@chriscrane1482
I had a DC after 10 seconds when they saw a trap probably when I was playing trapper lol.
I feel like the reason it’s so sweaty is because people want blood points and to get as many prestige’s as possible. I did that but after 5 prestige’s on Wesker, I’m just gonna get the free unknown and bill outfits and probably not play for the rest of the event
I spent 5 hours today getting face camped outside of a few matches where previous killers told me they felt bad and threw me a freebie. It's a non-stop cycle of, "They sweat, so now I'm going to sweat." Just a bunch of people who think they're better than they are being assholes for no reason cuz they had some rough matches. This is why I don't kill during events. I get triple the BP that most people get, I get a lot of positivity, and I'm still ranking up. I'm almost Silver 1 and I don't kill anyone. It's a great time honestly. +I avoid bully squads for the most part which has been a fantastic break from the usual toxicity. Record BP is 500k+ on Killer, and a super cool Oni hooked me up with 4 totems, 2 chests, 5 gens, and some other stuff so I got 650-700k BP on survivor. Was incredible. Big s/o to that Oni. You can sweat all you want, but I guarantee I'm gaining BP faster just having fun and shooting the shit for 5--10 minutes.
At this point I can't even blame survivors for popping gens and getting out with how often I just get MISERABLE matches. I felt so bad some matches where the killer didn't do so hot. Normally I'd take a chase, or give them a free hook, but I know I'm never getting off if I do and I'm trying to get pips before the reset so I just gotta dip. Even had to change my build cuz dear god you just cannot have fun in the "event" mode which is now just Comp DBD. Every match is Iri addon(s), tunnel, face camp, quad stall, and I just wanna chase, do some gens, get some points, and have fun.
The chances of getting more then 200k on survivor is genuinely extremely rare unless you play brick mmr or play comp swf just to farm
The only time DBD has felt consistently casual was during Chaos Shuffle, because the game didnt allow people to sweat. I miss it
This community is very divided. One can only hope the playerbase will eventually look passed their biases and wish for changes to better the experience of both sides and the overall game.
I don't see killers get talked about like survivors but they should tho just look it up on YT you'll see plenty of killer rants but not as much survivor rants about killers
The devs are so sweet from what I experienced in the Discord stream they did for the recent PTB and seem passionate. Its the community that feels dreadful.
am not sure whats worse, when am playing a no slowdown billy game when i get the 3 hyperfocus stakeout+ combo and the ds resy dh oR team thinking there gonna make it to pro, or when i land a spicy chainsaw and 3 people dc at 5 gens, like i can kind of respect the people try Harding to win if it wasn't for there intently doing it in a for fun mode in hopes to run into unprepared people, but a team group dcing because one aspect of the match didn't go the way they wanted is always Dum. like i cant even play a game of SM without getting at least 1 dc doesn't matter if i run 0 slowdown. Survivor is really fun to play in this event party pallets and quiet mode let you do all kinds of spicy plays its kinda sad that people dont enjoy the game and go next when you get a rough one.
I mean SM is still a bit dumb, especially thet her drones do so much, imo, her stealth from drones should be an addon and her drones should not reacivate after some time.
@@aroace7913 yea and top tier killers powers do way to much too but I can play nurse with 4 slowdowns and get a fraction of the games with DC, idk why they give her stealth ether, but she can't hold the game hostage anymore but I don't get why they won't play it out
@@coffeebreak7978
Mostly because a ton of SM place the drones near gens so you are forced to deactivate them again and again and again....
@@aroace7913 I see so because they defend gens aggressively people don't want to play against them, there's a kick limit now. They can only defend them for so long so unless they got a unholy 3gen I dont see how it's any worse then another killer defending gens like plague power has way less counterplay to get broken and if you cleanse you give her a outstandingly strong range attack so you end up rewarding her trying to counterplay.
@@magical571
Wrong, there is a penality when more than 1 people work on a gen.
When I played the event with my SWF (3 people) we had 10 matches (after I started to track how bad it was). We had 6 escapes out of 40 (4 Survs across 10 matches), and 2 of those were hatch. That means we had a 10% 'win' rate. We actually had more Survivors with sub 10k BP (8) than escapes in those 10 matches. When I swapped to Killer without them, I was able to get wins quite easily, and I intentionally was going for 8 hooks before kills. I didn't realize how Killer sided the event was, and I can completely understand any Survivor team that was sweating just to even out that 10% escape rate back up to the 40% we are supposed to have.
Do you ever make an effort to have a silly interaction with a survivor? That’s often the only way to show you’re having a laugh and not playing serious, so they’ll get the hint and chill out a bit too. The power of how games go is in the killer’s hands, as survivors can’t just assume the killer is going to be chill because they’re usually not and you’ll be downed when trying to meme with them at 5 gens
or you know chill out in the event mode but nope they cant do that
I often do this yeah! I make silly movements, spin around items they dropped, etc...
...yeah no they still are being poopy heads. They see those gestures as taunts sometimes, making the game even sweatier.
As a survivor I have plenty of silly interactions with killers. There has to balance between playing seriously and screwing around. I play respectfully whether with the team or against the killer. I'm trying to have fun and not get stressed. I don't understand the community pitchfork and torch mentality. I enjoy the game and appreciate the community regardless.
@@magical571 I’m not saying farm. I’m saying show a bit of personality as killer, so survivors have a clue you’re not a sweat and may also chill. Not saying it’s guaranteed. But it’s more likely to happen than if you don’t in my experience.
@@spookieboogi6161 I disagree. If one survivor decides to chill out and go easy, or not even do gens but try and get chased, there still may be three others who aren’t playing like that and a killer who’s trying to 4K who doesn’t even know you’re not doing gens like the others.
But if the killer chills out and makes it obvious they’re not playing aggressively, sure it may take a while until everyone is aware of that, but then people can decide to adjust their game play according. Or not. Some will just take the killer to be a rollover and play the same, but the key point is the killer deciding how they’re playing will have a stronger impact on how the game goes. No survivor has ever started a farming session, for example.
Love the game, hate the playerbase. It's something I've learned to accept about DBD at this point.
I tried Vecna for the first time during the event and decided to turn my psn messages for the first time in years (Big mistake.) I got messages calling me tryhard trash and why sweat during the event. I'm just sitting there like "I was fumbling through Vecna's powers and learning and that's sweaty?"
I got a hate message from the beginning of the game simply cause I picked knight. That’s it I didn’t do anything toxic, sweaty or anything I picked knight and got told to play something else like bruh there’s 30+ killers sorry out of all of them I played the one you don’t like
Honestly, I like playing killer because when I play survivor, my teammates just give up at first hook. And then, the killer proceeds to tunnel somebody.
I'm very tired of this community. Today I had so many sweaty matches. The event challenges (gatekeeper/lightbrinher kind) do not help influence this but this is 95% on the community.
You're not wrong. This is exactly what my friends and I have been talking about and it's made us less active lately. This event has been entirely unfun. I don't mind dying over and over - but the games are super sweaty and more than I have ever been. So I am having a hard time keeping up. I wont say I've been tunneled constantly or I have seen more of it, cause I haven't. But I know I am playing against players way above my own mmr. I started out playin the event making it easier to kill me for fairness and to give killer points, but now I feel like I have to run perks I never run just to have a chance. And the survivor side is just as bad. I've been BMed by my own team in solo more than I ever have, and I've had more survivors try to get each other killed than I ever have. If it wasn't because I needed to points to reach my goals or the rewards, idk if I would be playing.
Why is it like this?
Because fixing gens isn't fun, healing teammates isn't fun.
Teabagging, flashlight clicking, hitting on hook, tunneling, face camping and trolling in end game IS fun for them.
It's more fun during events because these events Should Be Fun for players who want to take it easy and they can spoil it for them.
That's why the community acts like this, especially during events.
My poppop always told me to "leave it at the door." and I stick with that when I'm playing games like dbd. If i get heated in one match the heat dies in that match. It doesn't follow me into anyone elses next match

Cat's elbow and knee joints are located further up on their limbs than human limbs. Felines have a elbow-like hinge joint on each front limb and a condylar knee-like joint on each back limb. This means that a cat has two elbows and two knees.
I literally could not agree more. This is completely what I believe, the game is fun af, but the community makes it suck, everyone takes it too seriously, and if I do anything to make it worse, the cycle just gets worse.
It's why I usually run no slow down, like, at all, it's so much more fun. I only run full chase or detection, and it honestly doesn't even go that poorly. That may be because I'm not at top MMR (likely not even close), but if I get to top MMR, I'd want it to be based on skill anyway, not because I got carried by perks. Anyway, that's a side tangent. Main point is, I don't usually use what I don't have fun fighting against, in hopes that other people can realise it's just a game and that they can tone it down too.
The DBD Community has one of two instances.
You encounter the small but wholesome side of the community.
Or the absolute shit storm of what aboutism's and in fighting.
The amount of time I've been told to 'take my pills' or 'go to a mental institution' merely for my choice of killer, without conforming to the meta norms 'I actively refuse to bring gen stall, yes even as a trickster main' or have people use my mental disabilities as a means of belittling, deflecting accountability and so much more, just to seem like the better player, over a game that is NOT that serious is honestly astounding.
I've met a lot of people who I deem close friends through DBD and that's why this game holds a special place in my heart, but holy fuck does some parts of the community make me want to pull my hair out.
I'm not one to actively let the community affect my enjoyment of a product, for example, I had been playing TF2 since I believe 2010/2011 and stopped playing it around 2017, because I grew up and just didn't find attachment to it anymore, and TF2's community did have a wholesome side, but also a colossal shit show of negative nancies, I mean look at the botting problem thats been happening.
So I actively make the decision to distance myself or keep my involvement with a community as minimal as possible, but with DBD its not that easy, cause with how ugh... twitter is.
You do one thing one person doesn't like, whether it be playing how YOU want to play for a game YOU purchased, Your steam name is plastered all over the platform without a care in the world, you are immediately shit talked, bullied, belittled and so much more because god forbid you play the way you want to.
I'm well aware trickster is not liked as much as a lot of other killers, but I've been steadfast in playing him because I ENJOY HIM, If I let what people think about him affect me, I'd be playing someone else.
But because I do not care what people think about who I main, I continue to enjoy him, even through the negative comments I get on my profile, the salt I get from TTV's and all that.
Because I'm enjoying the game my own way, Community be damned, excluding the current photosensitivity bug going on 'which I'm not playing him exactly because of that' until someone gives me an actual reason other than 'trickster no fun for me' to stop playing him, I will literally ignore it, because what someone finds fun or unfun is completely subjective.
I unironically love going against the entire cast of DBD, yes, even the ones with short comings, overly oppressive anti loop and all of that, why? because its a breath of fresh air for every snooze fest blight and nurse I get, I'd rather go against a cracked Unknown than Blight Number 8268 bringing 4 gen stall and the best addons and tunnelling someone for looking at him the wrong way.
I agree. The community is so toxic not just in game, even in YT comments and steam/twitch. Its brutal and so so cringe.
I literally found a video earlier of someone going against a bully squad and i read the comments as i always do on any video and someone said something along the lines of how no one is allowed to bring escape cakes during the event when its not even wrong to bring escape cakes anyway and i also found another comment saying we have to report and get ppl banned if they dont bring event cakes.. like whats wrong with the community and the event?? Its just blood points and u can earn them just fine without event cakes so whyats the point of purposely trying to harass others for no reason
I feel like a lot of the sweat has to do with bad luck and RNG. All of my buddies that I've been playing with during this event consistently tell me that they are having fun and the games aren't that bad. This is usually followed by me telling them they are full of it. As soon as I log on each time they are baffled because immediately the games will become sweaty and every single one will involve hook play, slugging, camping, and or tunneling. They even swear that I'm cursed or black tagged by the game because all these last-ditch effort strategies will happen at 5 generators. The Killers will even consistently slug for the 4K at 5 generators remaining regardless of what happened in the match.
Yeah I feel you, I had to play against a p400 swf as a p3 ghostface. I got 2 kills that game, one from a guy who wanted to be chased and another guy was being so toxic that he was T bagging and flashlight clicking me . HE DID THIS FOR SO LONG HE DIED TO ENDGAME COLLAPSE.
Before Endgame Collappse was a Thing, some Suviors whoud just Not leave. They where standing at they Exitgate until the Killer cam to to them, so they choud Teabagg the Shit out of him, it was a Nightmare. Nowadays, when i have a really bad Killer Match, i can open the Door and go Afk until they Match is over.
I don’t know why, but I get a lot of BMing killers these days. I don’t play that much killer anymore, so I won’t pretend that I consistently get or don’t get sweaters or toxic squads, but when I do play killer (my MMR is decently high on killer so I’m definitely not getting babies) most of my survivor teams aren’t toxic. Coordinated or sweaty, but not toxic, rarely will I get tbaggers or clickers or anything like that. As survivor, more than half of my games end with me or my friends or teammates getting hit on hook at the end even tho we didn’t do anything really all that mean or toxic, we just played efficiently most of the time.
Idk man, it’s just a constant cycle of frustration and while I’ve gotten a lot of value from the event, sometimes the community just DRAGS it down man. I’m gonna take a break after the event’s over, I really need it.
ive been playing the game for 2 months and im already quitting, ive gotten so many death threats its not even believable at this point
Frankly, you're probably doing yourself a great favor
Honestly this anniversary was fun with the modifiers but man did I get so many dcs and people giving up instantly. It was very annoying to see people willingly play the CASUAL game mode just to take it seriously and give up after one chase. Killer didn’t feel fun this event, it felt very boring with all the sore losers…
its not the game, those who are abusive in chat msgs etc are no different to those who dont have keyboard ,controller to hide behind. however those who hide behind the keyboard, controller are rarely held accountable for their abusive behaviour . iv reported so many , and they are still online. im a ps5 user , so how behaviour get out of the issue of dealing with the abuse is that because its a playstation network message, its down to playstation to deal with the issue. of which they rarely do. there needs to be a better reporting system
I played DBD on PlayStation for a while and...holy mother of God the messages I got from people were insane!! I had some who would keep messaging me for 3 DAYS straight, they probably would have gone on longer if I hadn't decided to block them after realising what a waste of time it was to engage with those nut jobs. DBD sadly has alot of entitled man children but there are definitely plenty of good people out there too
i almost quit dbd today because the entire morning worth of games was gen rushing and bming and utter idiotic playing by the survivors. (I'm a killer main) and the people called me a sweatlord because I had a basic chase build on my xenomorph, lightborn, bam, pop, pain res, with the destruction bolt and emergency helmet as my addons, how is that sweaty and normally I don't run lightborn I run agitation in its place but with the flashlight bug im not risking it. but besides the point I'm straight up getting over the dbd community all together.
3:30 im going thru the same thing excpet i mostly played survivor. No killers are going sweat mode. If anything, they're just the average killer i go against in normal DbD. Im convinced the community will find any reason to cry to BHVR for nothing and make up lies.. another example for me at least is the ppl claiming that old SM would hold the game hostage and stuff when for me, none of that happened and the only time i saw that happen is on YT from the killer perspective.. so basically ppl online purposely made her look bad and made ppl hate her for no reason and got them lying making claims about how they get held hostage and somehow Skull merchant makes ot worse... And they dont realize that any killer M1 only or not can hold a 3 gen.. skull merchant only made it "easier" due to base kit info while i could load in as Legion with Fuming Mixtape and Dirty Blade with a full aura and gen regress build and achieve the same thing
There is A LOT to criticize BHVR and DBD for, truly. There's a lot to be concerned about and it's valid to be negative about certain aspects of the game. BUT, my problem with the DBD community is that being negative and hateful is just the norm and low-key encouraged in so many ways. It genuinely makes me sad how MANY people complain about this game so much, or make other human beings feel like shit for playing in a way they didn't like. People like that are so vile and so vicious for NO reason, like that energy is not necessary at all but it's everywhere on social media and even some youtube rabbit holes that encourage said toxicity like-- I can just never wrap my head around it
I've had over 200 good matches this month, with very little salt. I've only received 2 salty messages and one of them was just messing about. Could be a location thing 🤷♂️
The thing is that with competitive games in general people want to feel good when they play and either winning or playing in ways that they find fun are naturally going to be unfun for the other side in a competitive game. In any instances where you're also playing to win, you're essentially doing the same thing that you don't like of others doing, because you're being the very same sweatlord to the other team.
As for the community at large, it's really not so much a community thing as it is a competitive gaming thing. Gaming is accessible to virtually everyone, which means that it also brings in people who are not socially adjusted, have mental disorders, or may be generally disliked. With competitive games accessible to these people, it grants them access to communicating with others that they normally wouldn't have in society. That's why the complaints about "the community" aren't limited to just League of Legends, or Dead by Daylight, or Valorant, or Apex Legends, etc.
People often think their games community is the problem, but it's just that the nature of competitive games 1) drive people to want to win or do things that may be unfun to the opposing side and 2) make the game accessible to people who are not socially calibrated in society, thus making interactions feel bad
Also, the game (no matter what competitive game) will make changes or updates that are favorable to one side over the other, which will make people feel like their agency is being taken away in the game, which drives them to feel bad and want to regain that agency back by complaining or feeling like the creators of the game favor the other side over theirs.
If Dead by Daylight wants a more favorable community and player base, it needs to find ways to make people play both sides to at least encourage more people to see how it is playing both sides of the game. Even then, the socially uncalibrated people will still act in ways that make the game and community feel miserable to be part of.
Two gen perks a utility perk, and an info or utility perk is better than a trip or quad slowdown.
that's why I laways said that separate queues for comp and casual will never work. Because nothing prevent people from playing casualluy in comp and playng sweaty in casual. And this anniversary si the proof. They want us to goof around and have fun, but for many people fun IS to sweat and to BM others, sadly.
I’m a sweaty player and I’ll own up to it. Though I don’t do things like BM without reason. I also don’t try to tunnel or camp unless it’s needed.
Chaos shuffle needs to be a permanent game mode
Man that's like every game I played while streaming. I do randomizer for my stream and all I do is try to have fun, but it was game after game of 3 gens popping in the first chase and the next two popping right after with my 2nd to third chase. If I had a good start to the game, getting like one or two downs before the first gen, a survivor always dced. I actually got more tilted when a survivor would dc and all survivors would just run up to me giving up after I just played 3 sweaty matches of huge difficulty without slowdown just to lose a good build from the randomizer cause survivors couldn't handle a game where they have to make a comeback. This event sucked the entire time due to the sweat man
I've stopped playing survivor because of these cookie cutter paper rank killers ruining the experience. 1-1-1: 1 hooked, 1 slugged, 1 in chase, get 12 hooks and be merry. "Juggle two and tunnel them out" is for low-quality killers. A higher challenge is getting 8 hooks before sacrificing and the 1-1-1 will get you there -- it's been _the_ fundamental since 2016, that hasn't changed. Not these killers, it's a rarity we *don't* get a hardcore tunneling killer acting like they're in a tournament. Survivor side has been utterly miserable for me, so I stopped
Thanks, DBD community. Maybe play for player retention
Tbh I was getting worried about Gregory, what with the recent community related issues, last time I saw them he looked a little thin… nice to see he is doing well 😊
The dbd community is a direct result of how BHVR has designed the game. They facilitate and quite frankly encourage playing like a douchebag and engaging in bullying behaviours. It's entirely on them for not removing the incentives that make the game a miserable experience and perpetuate the cycle of hatred.
Be the best game ever if it had Team Fortress 2's community.
Issue with the game, is that there are competitive bullies, and just casuals that become the victims in the end.
No, the TF2 community has also been on a steep decline since ever. And is on copium 24/7 about TF2 not dying.
Is the toxicity that worse on PC. I play on ps5, and aside from a very few moments, I've never really encountered the communities toxicity. Idk.
As a 14 year old who enjoys this game, I somehow feel far more mature then most people who play this game.
Sometimes you just gotta “Be the bigger person “
I love this game and all, and I've gotten yet to get tired and burned out from it, but yeah, I understand.
The sweating in the event mode is getting outta hand, as is the toxicity from both ends of the playerbase. Sore winners/losers, toxic players, sweats, it's just a part of this bitchy cycle.
Whenever I complain about this im hit with 3 things
1: downplaying the problem and being told to sweat harder.
2: being told to have a thick skin or pretend it's my friends but i know my friends never have and never would message "kys noob" to me or anyone else.
3: assigning of blame, its survivor mains! It's killer mains! It's nurse mains! Its uncle Terry mains! It's the devs!
What about it's a problem, what about we do something about it instead.
I started to run anti bully builds because of it I've also started to opening the exit gate myself to get the end game over with faster
11:06 Don’t call me out like tha- anyway yeah I see so many matches with these kinds of people, thankfully I’m a console scrub so I don’t have endgame chat and I’m spared of that hellhole of toxicity. A lot of people in this community need to grow the hell up, and that’s coming from someone who shouldn’t even be playing the game.
if they balanced the game towards no slow down perks, nerf all regression, and all progression. the game would be immediately better. community aside it would be a better place if you weren’t required perks to stand a chance.
us vs them mentality strikes again lol
Kaiser listen it is not just you. I literally was thinking, "Oh shit, is the anniversary done yet? I need to get the rest of to cosmetics still!" Today and logged on to play some huntress with zero slowdown and my only second chance perk being bloodwarden. I then proceeded to have one of the worst match experiences I have had in a while. Nothing bad happened it was mainly just bad luck combined with it being my warmup game and having to deal with a 14 min Q (I was playing at 11 AM). Luckily no one decided to be a sore winner and BM, mostly because I always end my matches with a ggs wp all to try and not spread hate, but after that sweat fest of a match once I'm done getting the cosmetics I think I'm going to take a break until 2v8 comes out.
Last anniversary at the very least I could still come across a good amount of casual survivors because everyone was forced to play the same game but I honestly think for events like the anniversary or Halloween it needs to all be one gamemode and not separated. It's a nice idea on paper to separate them, but clearly it isn't working in practice because as this anniversary event goes on I am loathing it more and more and I started out loving it to death on both sides.
I disagree, people should be able to choose to play the event or not, I would have hated if I was forced to play chaos shuffle for example.
@@aroace7913 Yes, things like chaos shuffle should be something you chose to play. However big stuff like the anniversary is something that should just change how the game works for a little bit. Not only for the fact that having it be a choice doesn't fit with the lore of the anniversary, but also because making everyone play the same new rules breeds creativity.
Tryks is literally changing the rules of the trials to make the killers and survivors celebrate the entity's birthday, yet they can just decide not to now. What of the Halloween event where the entity is either purging the blight or the void is seeping in? Now the killers and survivors are just able to go, "no thanks I don't do the blight and the void is scary."
When everyone is forced to play with the new rules as I mentioned it breeds creativity in even the people who would normally just stick with what they always run.
Make it a choice to opt in or out and now if you just don't 100% like it then don't worry you get the ability to opt out and continue playing the same old DBD no need to be creative here.
Again I think the option to chose was a nice thing to test for the anniversary, but ultimately it's watering down the meaning behind it lore wise and causing super long Qs because a good 80% of the players only ever want to play something different if it is in their favor instead of trying to have fun with the new tools.

I feel like though if you force people to play they gonna DC more often and people refusing to do the event and maybe ruining it for everyone.
The start of the event was so nice I was just being silly and shit and then I played elden ring for a few days and come back and play two of the most sweaties games I’ve ever played and I’m done for now I’ll come back in a week
Yes yw
Alot of us just click and listen
Ngl, I think that you could try to laugh out those bad situations. Someone was mean in the end game chat? laugh and say "lmao this dude person really sweets their butts off. Glad im not like them" and go to the next match. Don't think too much on them, they dont diserve your attention
Unrelated, is Greg single? If so can I get that handsome skeleton's number?
DBD community is the League of legends community for horror games.
You didn't run inton5 gen tunneling during this event? Which planet was your server on? 😂
More like alive by midnight
I agree this is why I don't enjoy playing DBD
This is why I'm against not only voice chat, but also comp mode in DbD.
I garuntee comp and casual mode will switch, people will use the modes "correctly" for a few weeks, but then the hyper competitive players will get bored so they'll swap from comp to casual for "easier" games to "let off steam" or "take a break" from the "sweats."
In which they'll still play as though theyre in comp and sweat out and bully newbies and casuals, which will lead new players and casual swapping to comp to get away from the smurfs (well not really smurfs, but yoy get what I mean.)
I miss the toxic ow community probably the best thing about gaming
fuck you mean miss them? they are still there in full force
@@KaiserDaGaemer nah ow2 is ass that toxic don’t hit like ow1 did we all on the same page the game sucks but ow1 nah that was some good toxic right there
I agree so much like my god I hate how something is positive and all people do is look at the negative. I loved the dnd chapter so much and was hyped cause I played it with my mates but my sister who also plays this game had the typical no cares about this and it's not a horror ip bs and it's like let me enjoy this please.
I always blindly click on your videos, it's the law after all
Also ye, people kinda annoying. But tbh, I think the thing that bothers me most is when the survivors give up fairly early on. Like it isn't toxic or anything but it's just the fastest way for a game to go from fun to "Oh cmon man, stop that shit". It just worsens the experience for all the remaining players rather quickly. Like honestly, DCing is better than just going afk or self sac on hook or trying to get the killer to death hook you, cuz at least the bot is gonna do gens or heal people or whatnot.
Come to team fortress 2 on community server to avoid aim bot
Where u can play however u like
Been having pretty fun with this event, most likely cause i'm a pretty sweaty player, like I do really enjoy the competitiveness some people bring into matches. The remote hooks are super satisfying to use, but even then i'm so focused on survivors that i sometimes forget to get an invitation lol. It's cool chaotic fun for me at least. That being said like yeah I'll get some toxic weirdos, (not as much surprisingly) but my overall experience has been pretty positive thankfully. As for sweating in the event, like at least for me, i need the blood points lol. I've been meaning to level up my killers and this so happens to be a good time to do it. I also don't have all that many killers, and with them being cheaper for the anniversary, i'm gonna be grinding for as much shards as i can.
I just play Blight, fun and strong.
people are try Harding because they need to farm for birthday cakes also maybe try playing some other games
ruinner fish
I stopped playing dbd cause the community is horrible and take it too serious. Games are supposed to be fun and they take it personal.
People who make videos like this are no different then the community they are complaining about. I've noticed how entitled killers have gotten like they can do no wrong and act like they don't have a clear advantage which is ok in a killer game but they swear because it's 4 v 1 they are at a disadvantage which blows my mind. What about the generators, doors , faster movement speeds and more op perks. If a killer is any good they could get a tie without even trying at all with no perks or add ones🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ killers need to start getting talked about like survivors because it's a clear bias from the community towards killers.
Im pretty sure this is bait, but Imma respond anyway cuz I like rambling, and idk, just in case.
The debate between the game being survivor sided or killer sided isn't super clear rn, mostly cuz survivors have both the lowest possible performance and highest possible performance (4 person solo que non-meta perks def at a disadvantage, 4 man meta swf is absolutely at the advantage regardless of opposing killer). Wheras in the past, its almost always been survivor meta easily.
But the things you listed to suggest killer is stronger is just... odd? Like, you remove generators, doors, faster speed, and make their perks the same as survivor perks, and now you are literally playing a weaker survivor (slower vault, can't vault pallets, ect) chasing down other 4 survivors in hopes nobody finds an exit gate.
Like, generators are a part of the game, survivors can complete them fast, and there are tools to support survivors doing them fast (as well as killer tools to stop them from doing it as fast)
Doors is... a really weird one. The killer spends some amount of time to open up an area so that anyone can use them later. In many cases, doors only exist to make certain loops become mid loops instead of god loops. In most cases the doors don't hold significant advantage to the killer, just makes said areas less detrimental to the killer.
Faster movement speed is because, like, if you move survivor speed, how are you supposed to catch anyone ever? Like, many killers already suffer from strong loops existing because the speed difference doesn't counteract the faster vaulting speeds (nor the common perks that grant faster speed for survivors). Like, you know you're not SUPPOSED to run the killer for all 5 gens for the 4 man escape, right?
And like, theoretically, since it IS 1v4, killer perks should be 4x stronger than survivor perks. That way the total combined power of all the killer perks and survivor perks are the same.
Also yeah, killers do get talked about the same way as survivors. In my experience, I've heard more people complain about killers, actually. Every game is apparently a sweaty killer tunneling and camping at 5 gens while also holding the game hostage by slugging everyone while also sending racial slurs to my email and mailing explosives to my door. But Im sure some people hear more about survivors than killers. There's just a weird community divide of survivor vs. killer and it's hella cringe. At the end of the day, we're all just nerds playing a video game
Community and devs is what ruins the game for me
