I feel your pain fam, especially the bad teammates part. I've lost plenty of games and solo queue due to dumb brain dead decisions. Keep your head up and the positivity flowing!
I at one time felt your pain on all of your points made in this video. But some time ago I decided to just push trying to win out of my mind and enjoy the absolute chaotic mess that solo q is. I run silly builds, go for personal bests in chase time, and goof off with teamates. I've gotta sit back and laugh at the stupid shit happening on screen. If we win, its nice and feels very earned. If we lose, at least I get some laughs and can quickly move on to my next game. Wishing you the best and I hope you can get some fun matches in the future.

I definitely agree with your statements made. I mostly play solo queue and most of the time I'm the first killed cause my team refuses to take chase and hits for me when I'm unhooked and then assuming I manage to survive for long enough I'm usually last alive and have to pray that I can find hatch because my team will DC or kill themselves on hooks. Also the build value point I also have to agree on because half the time my teams refuse to actually let me help them with my builds and if I decide to play a selfish build they'll talk trash about me.
Hey kaiser, been watchin you for a while now and gotta say for one its nice to see your growth over that amount of time, i find you have relatable thoughts on this channel for the most part a healthy middle for the the community if you will. Ive been thinking about jumping back into killer again however im hesitant since playing the game previously (last play session was when Alien dropped) started frustrating me to the point where even queing up was just a dreadful feeling after work, i wanted your opinion and opinions of others for the games current climate, has it gotten less or more frustrating from a killers pov? Im hyped for 2v8 which is what makes me inclined to get back into the game and dusting off the ol pig.

It's really funny, how I almost never wanna rant abt solo q. Maybe because my expectations is low, maybe because I enjoy the process of the game itself, but whatever chaos is happening in match, I don't usulaly care. YES, I'm trying to win, trying to help my teammates, trying to loop killer, but if we lose, or if someone is giving up on hook, I just go "well as always" and continue to try to win. It's really funny, how chill am I while playing survivor. While on killers I'm nervous and angry almost abt everything. How stupid map design is, how bad I am at the game, how unfair survivors' perks are, hell, even flashy saves got me mad, I, for some reason, mad that survivors save each other at first down. I like " U GOT ONNNEEEE GEN LEF AND THIS IS MY FIRST DOWN PLEASSSSE GIVE ME THIS HOOK FOR FUCK SAKE YOU WILL SAVE HIM RIGHT AVAY ANYWAY, WHY DO YOU NEED TO BLIND ME YOU STUPID SWEATY SHIT"

I don't believe they lower their mmr. But most of the content seems to be when they get bad killers. You aint gonna see xeno or knightlight get 360 or ran for five gens are you? And im not saying they're bad survivors but if you're going against a good killer. You not gonna be playing around doing all the little fun bits waving them towards them etc with relaxed banter. Because they gonna have to lock the fuck in and focuse.
What I find interesting that no one seems to have mentioned in relation to "smurfing" is that everyone's under the assumption that if they're deranking it's intentional. Like if you watch many popular streamers that get many of those "bad killers" for their videos even though they should be high mmr it's not because they're "deranking" themselves, it's because if you watch their streams or content they do TONS of meme videos,challenges, or builds where they end up "losing" MANY games for the sake of the challenges or memes. THAT is why they find these bad killers. It's not "deranking" for the sake of smurfing, it's just that they throw many, many games for "funsie" things which ends up lowering their MMR significantly. It's not a "I'm off stream deranking to get easy games" thing, which everyone seems to be assuming is the "smurfing", it's just that they lose lots of games dropping their MMR normally since they rarely play for "wins".
@Blueberries409 I got 2500 hours. Average survivors in my killer lobbies range from 1500hrs-3500hrs. But every now and then. I get a survivor/ survivor's with 1000 or less. Mmr is not pairing you with the right ppl every single time. And that's all I'm saying. And most of the funny content I believe is filmed when they get that anomaly. If they're 360 and running for five gens. They're not playing someone of their skill level.
@@imtheweirdo9377 Those games do happen, but i don't think that refutes my point. Some of their videos I'm sure do come from those matches, but it's objectively true that they do tons of meme or challenge matches for videos that causes them to lose more which in turn lowers their mmr significantly. This causes more of those lower matches to happen much more often. As said, they aren't intentionally trying to derank or smurf, but the end result can be similar.
I mean, basically everything you said. It’s why I either prefer to run a swf on coms or just play with people I’ve friended on different platforms because they were competent in game. Solo queue is awful. I still do it, but there are a of of ls I’ve taken as a result of bad teammates or killers just slugging or hard tunneling. I really don’t know how anyone can consistently make survivor content, but maybe that’s why so much of survivor content is mean spirited salt content. It’s the only reliable money maker because you just need your own passable gameplay and a heavy dose of toxicity.
The best survivor gameplay comes with coms that aren't in game coms anyway so meta isn't base game 😂
For my personal experience, I am basically a survivor main these days, I get reletively competant team mates most games. In fact many games feel almost gen rush territory, or we have 1 looper who is really good. I am average looper I typically get around 90 secs, but that means norm at least 1 gen for my loops. For me I noticed my team mates were really bad for a long time, but after I played a ton of solo Q, I started getting way more competant team mates. But yea still have those games where my team mates are jsut dumb, its prob about half or less of my games I get competant team mates, the rest are not new, but they cant loop worth a crap, and so I have to pick up a lot of slack, which im not good enouhg to do as im just an average looper, so norm a loss. I tend to just brush it off, try to have a fun loop, and go to next game. Its prob because I am in the mindset of trying to get better in chase, and perfect my loops, that I dont get annoyed by it, for me its still an oppourtunity to practice and I just genuinely enjoy chasing.
I guess to amke content you either have to be cracked, or funny.
I feel like my biggest issue might just be my MMR but how the fuck am I supposed to get better at the game when everything about the game seems to be working against me
@@hewmanbeing If I do an escape streak, I get wake up, sole survivor somewhere in my build. Got to play selfish. If teams throwing, time to hide in a locker and let the team die lol. Other then that, I typically try to take agro for first chase, to try to buy as much time as possible. Name of the game is removing as many facotrs out of your control as possible, but in an asymetrical game, its impossible to get 100%. Gotta know how to loop the main buildings, and op loops and avoid 50/50s as much as possible. A lot of its luck, most of looping is 50/50s and mindgames youll be forced to play them eventually, and thats just luck, but you want to leave them asap, go to a loop you can use check spots on, and sometimes you get an OP main building like Dead dawg saloon, pallet haven, or garden of joy. Most of it is sheer luck tho I have to admit. Choose maps with op loops if you can like gideon.
If you look up grasshopper escape streaks, this is what he does im pretty sure, although not sole survivor, wake up.
Even as a non content creator solo is trash as hell man, i get teammates that literally just quit on first down, or they loop near the killer, 3 gen us, dont finish gens at all, you name it

Now if we're talking like overkill shit, like nurse/blight with 4 gen slowdown, stridor spirit, impossible skill check + merciless storm doctor, then yeah I would agree with you.

I feel your frustrations Kaiser. I understand why all Survivor videos are looping because that's the most fun part of that role. Nobody wants to watch a bar fill up for 90 seconds 5 times in a row. And the curse of Solo Queue is still prevalent of course.
And people say the game is survivor sided
Solo Q gets a bad rep. I play solo q mostly and I have fun. If people DC after a first hook thats on them. We cant control how others play. I understand your take however. I see BS all time in matches. Quitters, and sand bagging.
Any "good game" is just one where our random teammates don't throw

This dosent just apply to content. Replace the word content with fun and the video still works. This video sums why o almost never play survivor. If its not bad team mates then its a toxic killer if its not a toxic killer then its bad mmr if its not bad mmr then its bad luck. I hate playing survivor

I’ve been playing dbd since 2020 & have always been a survivor main because survivors are very toxic towards the killer side of the game, so it was just never fun playing as killer when I was starting out. Recently though, I made a separate TH-cam channel from this 1 and forced myself to do the adapts of both survivors and killers and realized that playing as killer is so much more fun then survivor. Survivor side seems to just have horrible teammates, but as the killer, once you get used to playing as one (mine being the huntress) it’s actually sooo much nicer then survivor, because you don’t have any teammates holding you down.
I pretty much exclusively play killer because 1. I just don't find the core gameplay of survivor very fun; in order to win, you will spend much of a match sitting on gens or healing and 2. solo queue teammates are clueless. I'm not great at survivor by any means; like I said, I hardly play it. But I have common sense and actually try.
I'm not super deep into all of hte DBD creators, but I will say the main Survivor-content DBD youtuber I go to is Demi. Not sure if that helps at all as far as researching ways to make survivor content work but...figured I'd throw that into the ring of "he's at least entertaining to watch"
Lol 😂 sorry Kaiser but when I hurried second wind I died a little inside. I swear to god I felt this video. I actually am the opposite to you I love survivor and play killer maybe like 30% of the time now. I’m always trying to do different fun builds but if you color outside the lines in solo que you more than likely will regret it but man when it works you feel like a giga chad.
I think it's just that most their content is collected in swf, not solo queue, even when it sometimes appears it's solo. Also many of them don't actually play for "wins", they are usually doing meme's or challenges which makes them lose many of their matches which in turn keeps their mmr lower than it normally would be if they were playing for wins on the regular. I guess we could call that "smurfing" but it's not the smurfing people are generally talking about since it's not intentional, it's just a consequence of not playing for wins in most their videos or streams. So it's not some tin foil hat off stream deranking, it's simply rewatchable in their stream vods that they aren't playing "normally" for wins most of the time.
This video just sounds like league of legends, but worst. Luckly for me i only play survivor with my friends, so i avoid similar experiences.
Its so hard to run healing builds or deliverance hijinks or anything specialized because solo Q aside it feels like the game will curse you with Legion/Plague or the killer just always finds you first so no value from your build or very little.
I am the Embodiment of Solo Q. Honestly I dont know how to get Solo Q content but if you can find a group of friends to join Survivor then content will be easier just from any funny moments. But thats just my thoughts.

It is fun with friends, but non of mine play this game.
I like non scripted cus it just feels so real. It’s not this exquisite pre set up vid is just experiences and a place for other people with bad experiences to rant in the comment section aswell, also I saw that Ayrun video, in another one of his videos he says “I love how these build videos are always the first game I get no value and it’s just looping then one of my last games I get value”.
survivor is ateocious to play, and people rarely bring light to it, or killer mains just say oh ur just a bad survivor player, to shut down any arguments that could be made, if its not survivors griefing its killers tunneling camping and bming, ultimately its forcing me and everyone i know to play less and even quit, and im happy im not a survivor cc due to everything u said
I’m not sure about anyone else but chaos shuffler has much better solo queue teammates(as a killer main) at least for me, it’s just a much more fun mode and influences actual skill compared to relying on perks, it’s really the best mode and I prefer jt much more than standard killer or survivor
I think for SoloQ survivor content you need to embrace the chaos of soloq
Welcome to solo q. Where one survivor is doing a gen while the other 3 are either on hook or dying. It's so disheartening that BHVR seem to be ok with the state of solo q.

Coming from someone who also plays Solo Queue, i feel your pain Kaiser. Certain games you get 3 stack sweatlords who run the killer all game and other times you get players that just installed the game and have the IQ of a cardboard box. Making content around that is frustrating. I feel the best way to make content on solo queue survivor is not taking the game seriously and cracking jokes whenever a teammate does something stupid. That on top of finding a funny or good build that works in solo queue is good solo queue content. I hope it gets better for you, you really deserve better teammates… 😢

Honestly it’s either getting VERY lucky in solo queue or going through a LOT of pain.
There’s a few videos I’ve done where I went through at least 20+ times to even try to show it off.
I’d recommend to anyone if you wanna do solo queue content you gotta have patience
Bro I was playing yesterday on Nostromo, and I was on hook. Someone came to get me but got found by the hunter and got hooked. The other two survivors weren’t doing crap. One person was doing a gen on the other side of the map, and there was a Sable doing an invocation in the basement. I was hooked RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE BASEMENT
As a dude that's been playing solo queue since beta . . . you have to make your own fun. If you have a decent team, play normal, if they are garbage, then you meme, and if the killer is going full Anakin on Youngling . . . well, just be glad that it'll be over soon?
I can't and won't do solo q anymore. It's infuriating with teammates hiding the entire time yet escaping when we do all the work that got them there. (Had a Jake who escaped and finished with 3k otherwise. He crouched around the edge of the mp the entire match.) I'll never understand why people play "team" games if they're not going to work as a team.
